Chapter 71: Chapter 71: A God-Like Existence

It took Orion Hawthorne a good thirty seconds to recover from the shock, his eyes locked on Sienna Everett in utter disbelief. "Sienna Everett, you’re not joking, are you? You... you’re SG? Stop messing with me!"

Sienna Everett raised an eyebrow, finding his reaction rather amusing. "Why would I mess with you?"

Orion Hawthorne glanced blankly at Stella Shaw, then his gaze returned to Sienna Everett.

Finally, he reached out and pinched his own arm.

Damn, that hurts!

I’m not dreaming!

’No wonder the style of these three songs felt a bit like SG.’

’No wonder Sienna Everett could write two songs in fifteen minutes.’

’No wonder her performance of "Nine Provinces" on that variety show was identical to SG’s.’

’So, all the signs were there.’

’So, Sienna Everett really is SG!’

Orion Hawthorne, excited and restless, started pacing in circles around Sienna Everett.

He was making Sienna Everett dizzy. "Are you okay?"

Stella Shaw grabbed him. "Calm down!"

Orion Hawthorne finally stopped. Then, with a trembling hand, he reached out and touched Sienna Everett’s arm.

Sienna Everett recoiled instinctively. "What are you doing?"

Orion Hawthorne said, "I’m just touching the legendary SG!"

Sienna Everett: "..."

’Legendary?’

’I’m not dead yet!’

Orion Hawthorne’s heart was pounding with excitement. "Sienna Everett, do you have any idea what SG represents to musicians? A god! A living legend! Let me just touch your arm, just for a second!"

Sienna Everett: "..."

While Sienna Everett was still speechless, Stella Shaw, who was standing beside her, suddenly reached out and poked her.

Sienna Everett: "?"

Stella Shaw said, "Me too."

Sienna Everett: "..."

By now, Orion Hawthorne had slowly begun to digest the earth-shattering news. A cocky grin spread across his face. "Sienna Everett, for a ninety-eighth-tier nobody, you’re really hiding your light under a bushel. Tsk, to think I got SG to write songs for me. I’ve seriously hit the jackpot."

Used to his banter, Sienna Everett didn’t bother with false modesty. With a flick of her eyes, looking both sharp and radiant, she retorted, "As long as you know."

Orion Hawthorne suddenly leaned in closer. "Besides the songwriting, you should do the musical arrangement for me too."

Sienna Everett beamed. "Sure thing. Do a little pole dance for me, and I’ll arrange it for free."

Orion Hawthorne: "..."

’Are we really never going to get past this pole dancing thing?!’

’Why is she so obsessed with it?!’

Just as they were talking, Sienna Everett’s phone rang.

The caller ID read: Julian Forrester.

Sienna Everett, surprised for a second, stepped aside to answer the call. "Hello."

A low, magnetic male voice, tinged with a faint static that made her ears tingle, came through the phone. "Not done with work yet? When are you coming home?"

Sienna Everett: "Almost. I’ll be done in a minute."

Julian Forrester: "I’ll come get you."

Sienna Everett: "There’s no need. It’ll save you a trip."

The man let out a low chuckle, his voice light, lazy, and teasing. "How could picking up my own wife be any trouble?"

Sienna Everett’s earlobes grew hot, and she was rendered speechless.

He continued, "It’s late. I’m coming to get you."

Sienna Everett glanced at the dark sky outside. It was indeed late. She found herself saying, "Alright then. Drive safe."

The man let out a pleased chuckle. "So Sienna finally knows how to worry about me."

Sienna Everett: "?"

Sienna Everett hung up.

’As if I was worried about him!’ ℯℯ𝘭.

After hanging up, Sienna Everett chatted for a few more minutes with Orion Hawthorne and Stella Shaw.

With their work mostly finished, and Orion Hawthorne just having a few loose ends to tie up, Sienna Everett and Stella Shaw headed downstairs together.

As they walked out the company’s main entrance, Sienna saw Julian Forrester’s car parked just a short distance away.

Sienna Everett said goodbye to Stella Shaw, then walked over and got into the car.

Stella Shaw had assumed it was one of Sienna Everett’s friends picking her up. But when her eyes landed on the car’s license plate, she froze.

’That license plate...’

’Only one person in all of Aethelburg would dare to use that plate.’

’The person picking up Sienna Everett was... Julian Forrester?!’

The shock Stella Shaw felt was just as intense as when she’d learned that Sienna Everett was SG.

In a single evening, Sienna Everett had completely shattered her understanding of the world twice.

Then again, Sienna Everett had been personally signed by Keith Sterling—Mr. Sterling himself. Her background was never going to be ordinary.

’And now, this late at night, she has Mr. Forrester himself acting as her personal chauffeur. He has to be the most distinguished driver in the world.’

’It seems the relationship between Sienna and Mr. Forrester is anything but ordinary!’

Meanwhile, after Sienna Everett got in the car, the man naturally leaned over and meticulously fastened her seatbelt.

Sienna Everett just sat there, attended to so thoughtfully that she didn’t have to lift a finger.

Once the seatbelt was clicked in place, he looked up at her, his eyes full of warmth. "You worked so late. Are you hungry?"

She hadn’t felt hungry until he mentioned it, but now she realized she was.

Sienna Everett shot him a playfully indignant look and deliberately teased, "Now look what you’ve done. You made me hungry."

Julian Forrester simply found her pouting adorable. He reached out and ruffled her hair. "Yes, yes, it’s all my fault. I’ll take my lady to get something to eat right away."

Sienna Everett ducked her head away. "Don’t mess up my hair."

He just raised an eyebrow and deliberately ruffled it again.

Sienna Everett slapped his hand away. "Why are you so annoying? You’re just as annoying as you were when we were little."

The man let out a low chuckle, deliberately mimicking her. "Why are you so cute? You’re just as cute as you were when you were little."

Sienna Everett: "..."

In an instant, Sienna Everett’s face flushed crimson!

Mortified, she lifted her right foot and kicked him in the shin.

Julian Forrester glanced nonchalantly at his shin. Far from being angry, he even looked a little pleased. "You kick much softer than you used to."

Sienna Everett: "..."

...

「In the blink of an eye, the album release day arrived.」

The album was scheduled for release at 10 a.m.

It was barely past eight, but the online onlookers were already gathering for the show.

Orion Hawthorne and Dustin Everett were both A-list stars with tens of millions of fans. Since they were releasing their albums on the same day, a sales comparison was inevitable.

This was going to be fun to watch.

Fans of both Orion Hawthorne and Dustin Everett were fired up, ready to buy their idol’s album the second it dropped. Neither side was willing to lose face.

At nine o’clock, Dustin Everett posted a teaser on X:

[I release an album every two years, and today’s the day. This album has ten songs, and for one of them, I invited a friend to help with the songwriting. I’m sure you’ll all love it! Can’t wait for 10 a.m.!]

His fans went wild, screaming that their money was ready and they were just waiting for Dustin’s new album!

The online onlookers quickly picked up on a key piece of information.

[Whoa, do you think Dustin Everett got SG? He’s SG’s only disciple. SG would definitely help him out with his album, right?]

[I remember SG composed a track for Dustin Everett’s last album, and it went straight to number one in sales for the year, even breaking records! SG’s songwriting is on another level!]

[I’m not trying to jinx Orion Hawthorne or anything, but if you compare the two, Dustin Everett’s album is definitely going to sell more!]

[Speaking of which, who is this mysterious composer Orion Hawthorne hired?]

[Probably just some random composer. If it was a big name, they would’ve announced it ages ago to generate buzz.]

Finally, amidst the online discussion and anticipation, the clock struck ten.

The music platform released Dustin Everett’s and Orion Hawthorne’s new albums simultaneously.

Since everyone was speculating that Dustin Everett’s mysterious collaborator was SG, they all rushed to check out his album first. It couldn’t be helped—the name SG was simply too famous, its draw too powerful.
