After Beating the Game, I Became the Villain BOSS
Chapter 707 434: Betraying Humanity
Su Mo previously obtained six items for clearing the game, namely the Ancestral Blood Code, Faceless Enzyme, Black Extinction Virus, Construct Infant, Human Document, and Desecrating Silence Sword.
And the final seventh item for clearing the game is the "Spear of Judgment," which can only be obtained after defeating the final BOSS mastermind.
In the game "Dawn," these items for clearing the game each have their own functions and significance, most of which are functional.
For example, the Ancestral Blood Code and Faceless Enzyme, the former allows players to be compatible with multiple blood codes, while the latter is used to open up a multi-class system.
Besides their functionality, they don't influence the plot significantly.
If you must say, it's these functional items that allow players to surpass "limits" on a setting level, granting them the capital to face the final showdown with the mastermind.
In the game's finale, "Dawn" has multiple endings, which are determined by the player's various choices in the plot and how they handle the game-clearing items.
For example, in the evil line, the most tragic "Apocalyptic Ending," its trigger condition is the corruption of the Construct Infant.
As long as the player doesn't treat her as human in various plot options after acquiring the Construct Infant, shutting her in for various abusive, inhumane research.
She will grow cold-blooded from young age, with no recognition of humanity, and ultimately fall into a traditional construct.
Also, it's uncertain whether to call it the producer's dark humor, the corruption plotline of the Construct Infant is filled with various temptations in dialogue.
Researchers will persuade you to conduct all sorts of experiments on her, claiming how important the gains will be.
And it's not just empty promises, the rewards from branching choices in the corruption plot are indeed far greater than treating her well.
Many first-time beta players are "power seekers" and would desperately torment the Construct Infant for all sorts of rewards.
When the player reaches the final BOSS, as long as the corrupted Construct Infant is still alive in the plot, after defeating the mastermind, a corresponding ending animation is triggered.
The Construct Infant will take advantage of the player's weakness after defeating the mastermind, directly backstabbing, highlighting filial betrayal.
Subsequently, the player falls heavily injured, helplessly watching the countdown of the Spear of Judgment strike zero, endless scorching light descending from the sky, while the construct turns its back against the raining stars, flashing a sinister smile at the player.
Ultimately, the world ends, human civilization completely enters destruction, and the once-defeated construct civilization rises again, becoming the world's only intelligent civilization.
Another evil line "Demon Ending," is relatively more complex to trigger.
First, before engaging in the final BOSS battle, the player must madly kill the Construct Infant, and after defeating the mastermind, choose to monopolize the Spear of Judgment, becoming the supreme ruler of the world.
This ending is the most content-rich, as after triggering the ending, the player receives an additional BOSS battle.
And the opponent in this BOSS battle is none other than the companions who have fought alongside through the plot.
Because from the plot setting, the protagonist who follows the "Demon Ending" has actually betrayed all of humanity, intending to use the Spear of Judgment, an apocalyptic weapon, as leverage for world domination.
In this additional BOSS battle, the companions from the game process will come one after another to oppose the protagonist, and the player must kill them off one by one.
Seeing those once close companions being slaughtered by your own hand, the feeling for players outside the game is quite unpleasant.
After killing all companions, the protagonist completely transforms into a demon, exterminates resistance forces worldwide, purges millions of people, and ultimately establishes a dictatorship more ruthless than corporate giants.
Human civilization still continues, but everyone is merely living under the demon's claws, ushering in the darkest era.
Of course, where there's an evil line ending, there's naturally a good line ending.
For example, if players choose to care for the Construct Infant in the plot, giving her a warm childhood, and gradually have her recognize humanity, the backstab plot won't be triggered after the final BOSS battle.
At this point, the player then needs to choose to use the Black Extinction Virus to invade the control terminal of the Spear of Judgment, causing this apocalyptic weapon to self-destruct in space, triggering the "Dawn Ending."
Corporate giants are toppled.
The Spear of Judgment is no more.
The protagonist becomes the savior, returning to be revered by thousands.
Human civilization, long imprisoned in darkness, finally welcomes the dawn, thriving like sparks.
This ending appears beautiful, a complete reunion.
But actually, it's just an illusion.
In the second animation segment of the ending, a decade has passed, and the protagonist wakes up in a luxurious bedroom, overlooking the bustling metropolis through a floor-to-ceiling window, then receives a message to attend a conference in the meeting room.
The companions who once fought together against the giants are all present, each dignified and elegant, dressed in suits, sipping fine, exquisite coffee, discussing the quarterly profit maximization over the holographic screen.
The television also starts to broadcast the morning news— the company founded by the protagonist after the war has emerged as a leader in various fields, becoming the only force with global dominance, with prestige even surpassing the re-established World Government after the war.
At this point, a companion hands the protagonist a document, indicating that Sky City has been successfully repaired, and the company can relocate its headquarters whenever.
Indeed, the Sky City that fell in the sky has risen again, floating proudly atop the heads of the world.
The heroes who emerged from the rebellion war shed their armor and donned impeccable suits.
