Chapter 933: Chapter 914: Not Too Close

Upon hearing the old man’s words, the third aunt wasn’t pleased. Why couldn’t she decide where her own daughter goes to school?

Thinking of this, the third aunt immediately spoke up, “Dad, back then Mo Bai also went to study in the United States, so why does Mo Xi have to stay and study in the country?”

Being suddenly mentioned, Qin Mobai looked up. If there’s ever a case of getting hit while lying down, it’s someone like Qin Mobai.

Qin Mobai and Lou Xi looked towards the old man and them but didn’t speak up; speaking now would be hitting the target.

Although he would definitely not lose if he argued with the third aunt, Qin Mobai didn’t want to harm the peace over this; it wasn’t worth it, so he simply remained silent.

Qin Sheng looked at his daughter-in-law and said calmly, “Boys need to go out and experience the world. As for Moxi, let her stay well in Nancheng. She doesn’t need any experience and there’s no need to suffer abroad.”

“In Dad’s eyes, grandsons and granddaughters are obviously not the same!”

Turning the topic from studying to gender preference, Qin Sheng also didn’t understand what his daughter-in-law was thinking.

“Do you want your daughter to leave you for a few years? If that’s what you think, I have no objection. But I don’t agree with my granddaughter leaving my side!” Qin Sheng’s words had already reached this point, and if the third aunt insisted on speaking further, it would be going against the old man’s wishes.

Besides, the old man’s health isn’t good now, so wanting his granddaughter to stay by his side is understandable. If the time comes and his granddaughter isn’t around, it would be a regret for both the elder and the child.

The third uncle, seeing that the old man was already angry, immediately went over to pull the third aunt away. If she continued speaking, the old man might just be enraged to death.

“Dad, you’re right, we’ll let Moxi stay in Nancheng, so she can come home every day.” The third uncle finally decided to let Qin Moxi stay in Nancheng because, if he disagreed, there would be no getting past the old man. Just now in this family, Qin Sheng is the ultimate authority.

Qin Moxi just watched her grandpa and parents go back and forth until the decision was made to let her stay in Nancheng for her studies.

To be able to easily settle things with her parents on Grandpa’s side, she should have spoken with Grandpa sooner.

Qin Moxi was calculating in her mind, her expression changing moment by moment.

Not far away, Qin Mobai and Lou Xi observed Qin Moxi’s expressions, unsure of what she and Fu Sinian talked about last night, as Qin Moxi came back home without any look of disappointment and seemed unfazed.

“By the way, the New Year is coming soon, concerning the New Year’s Eve dinner…” Qin Sheng spoke up, changing the topic, indicating that Moxi’s matter should no longer be discussed.

The third aunt still wanted to say something, but the third uncle held her back. Seeing that the decision was final, the third aunt could only glare at Qin Moxi a few times, seemingly indicating they’ll settle the account after they return to their own home and the doors are closed.

“Grandpa, I’ve already asked Lou Xi to start preparing for the New Year’s Eve dinner,” Qin Mobai responded to Qin Sheng.

“Lou Xi might not be able to handle it all by herself. She hasn’t done these things before; let someone help her,” Qin Sheng scanned the living room, seemingly unable to find a suitable person.

At this time, the third aunt suddenly spoke up, “I used to help Mom with the New Year’s Eve dinner. This year, I’ll just help Lou Xi with it too!”

It was indeed the third aunt who used to help the old lady. Now that the old lady has passed away, the one with the most experience is undoubtedly the third aunt, so it’s understandable for her to help.

“Alright, you should help guide Lou Xi well.”

Lou Xi looked at the third aunt in some surprise. To be honest, her relationship with the third aunt wasn’t very good.
