Chapter 941: Chapter 922: Bet You’ll Fall in Love with Me Within Three Months

Lou Xi composed her emotions before answering Shen Youran’s call.

Actually, she had somewhat guessed that Shen Youran wanted her to reconcile with Lin Qianqian, to let the past be the past. Lou Xi intended to do just that, as long as no one brought it up again. Once Qin Mobai withdrew the lawsuit, the matter would be over.

However, now that Shen Youran was making this call, Lou Xi’s heart sank.

“Mom, what’s up?” Lou Xi returned to the villa, to the study on the second floor. It was quiet there, with only her.

“Xixi, um… do you have time now?” Shen Youran began, her tone carrying a hint of uncertainty and probing.

“I do. What do you need to say?”

“It’s about… Lin Qianqian…” Shen Youran paused, “I didn’t know before that I had another daughter, Qianqian, who returned to Nancheng by a twist of fate. She might have done something wrong to you, but Xixi, could you forgive her, for Mom’s sake?”

Lou Xi sat in the chair, looking at the wall full of books in Qin Mobai’s study, thinking about how she had been on her own all these years, and how Lin Qianqian had come through the same way.

They were both results of Shen Yucheng’s wrongdoing.

“Xixi, if it’s convenient for you now, would you come out to meet me? It’s been days since I last saw you,” Shen Youran pleaded.

She wondered whether having one daughter meant inevitably losing another. But no matter which one, she couldn’t bear to give either up.

So Shen Youran hoped for a perfect solution, where the three of them could coexist peacefully.

Lou Xi thought this issue had to be resolved sooner or later. Hiding in the Qin Family and avoiding meeting was not a solution.

“Alright, I happen to have time today. Let’s meet!” Lou Xi said with a deep breath, carrying a sense of determination.

“Okay, I’ll send you the restaurant address, and we can have a meal together.”

At the time, Lou Xi didn’t realize what “together” meant, until she arrived at the restaurant and discovered that “together” truly meant eating together.

When Lou Xi came downstairs again, she found Qin Moxi and Lu Jin at a standstill in the garden.

“Mo Xi, Lu Jin, I have something to do and have to leave first. You two carry on,” Lou Xi said somewhat absentmindedly.

Qin Moxi wanted to ask a couple of questions, but Lou Xi had already exited the courtyard.

“What made sister-in-law leave in such a hurry?” Qin Moxi mumbled.

Lu Jin squinted at Qin Moxi; the girl had a mild look of confusion on her face. Perhaps because she had been in the sun, her cheeks were rosy, and her bright eyes seemed to hold a vast galaxy within them.

Lu Jin prided himself on having seen many beauties and dated many unique girls, but he was encountering someone like Qin Moxi for the first time.

If the misunderstanding two years ago had made Lu Jin remember Qin Moxi, then their recent encounter in the Capital had suddenly released the little spark hidden in Lu Jin’s heart, overwhelming him with the desire to marry Qin Moxi.

“Qin Moxi, let’s make a bet.”

“Sorry, I’m not interested.”

However, Lu Jin seemed determined to make this bet with Qin Moxi. He stepped forward and said, “I bet you’ll fall in love with me within three months.”

“Hahaha! I’ve seen narcissists, but never one as self-absorbed as you! If I don’t fall in love with you within three months, could you roll out of my sight graciously?”

“Deal!” Lu Jin had never met a woman who wouldn’t fall for him.
