After Pampering Her 5 Beast Husbands, the Villainess Struck It Rich
Chapter 194: Should We Report It?
The blade crashed down in front of the Beastman with a loud CLANG.
The Beastman showed no fear, writhing and straining to reach it. The rope Sang Mo had used restricted superpowers, leaving them with only the most primitive methods.
Just then, Hu Yan turned and left with his arm around Bai Zhi. Lang Qiu, Yan Yichen, and Yue Junxiao followed close behind, leaving only those few people behind.
Yue Junxiao glanced at Sang Mo, who had already gone inside, and asked Yan Yichen and the others beside him, "Are we really going to this Black Domain place?"
Yan Yichen tilted his head to look at him. "You don’t want to go?"
Yue Junxiao quickly shook his head. "I do want to go. It sounds pretty cool, actually. I was just asking out of curiosity."
Meanwhile, Hu Yan, who had already walked into the courtyard, was saying to Bai Zhi, "My father, the Emperor, and my mother, the Empress, know about you. I was originally planning to take you to meet them, but it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer. This should give you some time to prepare yourself mentally."
Hearing Hu Yan mention meeting his parents, she turned to look at him, her eyes wide with disbelief.
Meeting the parents!!
And the Emperor and Empress, no less...
’Meeting normal parents is nerve-wracking enough. Now I have to meet parents on *that* level...’
The moment Bai Zhi heard this, a BUZZ went through her head and her mind went completely blank.
She was filled with a complicated mix of unease, nervousness, fear, and worry—all her emotions tangled into one.
Seeing Bai Zhi’s eyes go wide with fright, Hu Yan gave a helpless sigh and reached out to ruffle her hair from behind. "Don’t be nervous. I’m only telling you now so you can prepare yourself. If you really don’t want to, I can turn them down."
Hearing this, Bai Zhi grabbed his sleeve and shook her head. "It’s just so sudden. I’m not ready. Give me some time, and I should be able to prepare myself."
Hu Yan looked at her with concern. "Don’t force yourself. If you don’t want to go, they won’t say anything."
"I’ll admit I was a little scared and nervous when you first mentioned it. But they’re your parents. Even though they’re royalty, they don’t eat people, right?" Bai Zhi blinked teasingly, trying to relieve her own anxiety.
Hu Yan: "Mhm, they don’t eat people."
He watched her for a few seconds, as if debating whether to say more, before finally speaking up. "Actually, you’ve met them before. They like you a lot, which is why they want me to bring you to see them."
Hearing this, Bai Zhi was completely stunned. "When?"
Then, as if she remembered something, she stared at Hu Yan in disbelief. "Those two people skulking around and acting weird outside our house the other day... that was your parents?!"
At the time, Bai Zhi had thought it was strange. The moment she stepped outside, she felt someone’s eyes on her. When she turned to look, they hid. Later, Hu Yan had glanced over and even gone to check it out.
’Back then, I thought he was going to ask them why they were staring. Thinking about it now, he must have recognized they were his parents and went over specifically to see them.’
Once Bai Zhi put it all together: "..."
Bai Zhi asked nervously, "I didn’t do anything weird then, did I?"
Hu Yan had been trying to comfort her, but he didn’t expect her focus to be so completely elsewhere. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "No, you didn’t. They really like you, but they were afraid of scaring you by showing up unannounced. My point in telling you this is so you don’t have to be so nervous. If you don’t want to stay long, I can just take you to see them for a minute, and then we can leave."
Bai Zhi clearly hadn’t considered that option. "Wouldn’t that be a little rude?"
"Not at all," Hu Yan replied without a second thought.
Bai Zhi thought for a moment before making up her mind. "Then let’s make a trip to the palace when we get back."
Her quick decision took Hu Yan by surprise. "You don’t need to think about it more?"
Bai Zhi asked in return, "Didn’t you say they don’t eat people, and that we can just see them for a minute and then leave?"
He nodded. "Yes."
"Well, there you have it," Bai Zhi said, pulling Hu Yan back inside. "I haven’t finished my food yet. I’m afraid it’s getting cold."
Afterward, Bai Zhi contacted Lila Grey and Xing Fan. She told them about her plan to open a restaurant on the Main Star and even picked out two or three potential locations, one of which was in the large mall she owned.
Having decided to go to the Black Domain, they packed a few things and prepared to depart.
For the past day or two, those few Beastmen had indeed been waiting by the door every single day. The moment they saw the group come out, they immediately fell in behind them.
The Black Domain was very far from the Main Star, about the same distance as Blue Star.
The Beastmen were sensible enough to keep a respectful distance, following neither too closely nor too far behind.
They reached the Black Domain a little after ten the next morning.
Their Starship had barely arrived before it was discovered, and a number of Beastmen immediately surrounded it.
Over the past two days, the Beastmen had gradually told them about the changes in the Black Domain over the years. The biggest change was that the Black Domain was now under strict control: one could enter, but never leave.
Many had been drawn by the Black Domain’s reputation, only to discover upon arrival that it was nothing like the rumors. By then, however, trying to get out had become exceptionally difficult.
The Beastmen guides immediately stepped forward, faced the guards, and took out a black object. "We were out on business. We’ve returned."
The guards scanned the black object. After confirming it, one of them said, "So that’s where you’ve been. Sent out on a mission, were you? And who are they?"
The Beastman who had initially invited Bai Zhi to the Black Domain replied, "These are distinguished guests of Brutus."
Hearing this, the Beastmen who had surrounded the Starship immediately performed a formal salute. "We have been rude," they said with the utmost respect. "Please forgive us, distinguished guests."
With their guides leading the way, Sang Mo and his group entered the Black Domain with ease.
The Black Domain was just as beautiful as the Beastman had described. It was like a giant island surrounded on all sides by pale blue water, upon which a few flower petals drifted.
After the group had entered, one of the guards mused, "Didn’t you think one of those distinguished guests looked particularly familiar?"
"Didn’t pay attention. But that female was a real looker," the responding Beastman said, staring longingly at Bai Zhi’s departing figure.
Another Beastman smacked him on the head, cursing, "That mouth of yours is going to get you killed one of these days! Is a distinguished guest’s female for you to stare at?!"
The first Beastman rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Still, now that you mention it... he did look really familiar. Kind of like our old boss."
Hearing this, the others instantly caught on, all of them snapping to attention. "Was that man just now... our Boss Sang?"
Another stammered, "If it was... should we report it?"
The one who seemed to be their leader thought for a long moment before saying, "As far as today goes, we didn’t see anything. Understand?"
As he spoke, he turned to stare at them with a warning look.
Another asked worriedly, "But what if we get blamed?"
The leader’s face was grim. "We didn’t see anyone enter. What is there to blame us for?"
