Chapter 232: Buy Whatever You Want! Buy As Much As You Want

Because they were both females, and because Hu Yao had taken a genuine liking to Bai Zhi, she directed most of her conversation toward her.

Hu Yao glanced at Yue Junxiao. She and Zhen had been separated from Xiao’er for so many years and truly had much to say. So, when Bai Zhi made the suggestion, she agreed readily without any hesitation.

Someone else might have been coy about it, wanting to speak with their son but holding back for various reasons, worrying about this and that.

But Hu Yao was quite forthright. She wanted to be close to her child, so when Bai Zhi proposed it, she accepted it just like that. Of course, she couldn’t just let them find their own way, so she instructed her most trusted subordinate to show them.

After giving instructions to her subordinate, Hu Yao turned to Bai Zhi and the others. “His name is Huyan. Follow him, and he’ll take you to your rooms. If you need anything, just find him. He’ll take care of it for you.”

Bai Zhi nodded.

Then, they followed Huyan, leaving Yue Junxiao to stare wistfully at their departing backs.

Bai Zhi took a few steps, then sensed that Yue Junxiao might feel uncomfortable, since he had only just met them. She turned back, gave him a hug, and whispered in his ear, “We’ll wait for you in the room. If you feel awkward and don’t want to stay, just send me a message, and I’ll come get you.”

Yue Junxiao pressed his advantage, hugging her even tighter. He hummed in agreement and took a couple of deep breaths of Bai Zhi’s scent, which finally put him at ease.

Bai Zhi gently patted his back in a soothing gesture.

Hu Yao watched the two of them, an eyebrow raised and her eyes full of amusement. ‘He’s my and Zhen’s child, all right,’ she thought. ‘Just as clingy with his wife.’

Based on this act alone, she couldn’t be more satisfied with Bai Zhi.

She had thoughtfully given their family space to reunite, yet she was also worried about her Beast Husband, coming back specifically to comfort Xiao’er. Although Hu Yao couldn’t hear exactly what was said, she could vaguely guess from the shape of her lips.

It was for this reason that Hu Yao felt Bai Zhi was truly to her liking. It was Xiao’er’s great fortune to have such a good wife.

It was no wonder that even a Beastman like Hu Yan was willing to be one of Bai Zhi’s Beast Husbands.

After a moment, Yue Junxiao seemed to have composed himself. He finally let her go and said in a deep voice, completely different from his usual tone, “You go back to the room with them first. I’ll come find you in a bit.”

Bai Zhi gave him a worried glance. Once she was sure he would be all right, she nodded and turned to leave with Hu Yan and the others.

The rooms Hu Yao had prepared for them were all next to each other. Because Bai Zhi was a female, her room was slightly different from Hu Yan’s and the others’. It was more beautifully decorated and filled with elements that females liked.

In contrast, Hu Yan’s and the others’ rooms were standard, though everything inside was brand new.

Yue Junxiao returned about half an hour later. His eyes were clearly a little red, but you could tell he was very happy. The conversation had obviously deepened their bond.

The first thing he did upon returning was to look for Bai Zhi.

Yue Junxiao excitedly shared everything with Bai Zhi. “My wife, you won’t believe it! They still have the clothes I used to wear. I can even faintly smell my own scent on them. I didn’t believe it at first, but they showed me so many of my childhood toys and clothes, and even a beast pelt. They said I hunted it myself when I was little, so they kept it as a memento for me. I can’t believe I was so capable back then. They also showed me all the messages they got back every time they failed to find me. There were so many my eyes went blurry just looking at them. They really were looking for me all this time.”

Bai Zhi listened quietly and attentively at his side. When he finished, she would chime in at just the right moment, proving she had heard every word.

Yue Junxiao’s tone shifted from excited to something like a complaint. “My father even gave me the authority to mobilize all of Fierce Tiger City’s armies. Isn’t he afraid I’ll usurp his throne? Good thing I’m not that kind of person, or his position as City Lord would be in jeopardy.”

After speaking, he huffed a few times, seemingly dissatisfied that his father would trust someone so easily.

Yue Junxiao said, “My wife, I’m so happy. I have a father and mother. It turns out I’m not an orphan, and they love me very much.”

Then, he turned his head excitedly, his eyes sparkling as he stared at Bai Zhi. “Oh, right! They also gave me a whole mineral lode! Apparently, females love it, and they told me to use it to carve bracelets and jewelry for you. They also gave me a chip. I don’t know how many Star Coins are on it, but from the way they talked, it must be a lot. From now on, whatever you want to buy, my wife, I’ll buy it for you! I have Star Coins now! You can buy whatever you want! As much as you want!”

He had wanted to say those words for a long time, and now he could finally say them with confidence.

Bai Zhi smiled and nodded. “Alright, I won’t hold back then. You know I can spend a lot of money. Don’t feel bad about it later.”

Yue Junxiao quickly waved his hands, saying nonchalantly, “I won’t, I won’t. You should hold onto this chip. It’s no use to me. When I want to buy something, you can just buy it for me. Or if you think that’s a hassle, you can just give me some spending money like before, and I’ll buy it myself.”

As he spoke, he handed the chip Hu Zhen had just given him to Bai Zhi.

Bai Zhi didn’t stand on ceremony. She took it directly and even waved it in front of him. “Then I’m really taking it.”

Yue Junxiao nodded earnestly.

That night, Yue Junxiao was in a state of constant excitement. He told Bai Zhi many stories about his past. At first, Bai Zhi was able to respond, but eventually, she became incredibly sleepy. Seeing how enthusiastic he was, she didn’t want to interrupt and forced herself to stay awake, until she finally couldn’t hold on any longer and fell asleep without even realizing it.

Hearing the soft sound of snoring beside him, Yue Junxiao turned to look at Bai Zhi’s sleeping face. His own face, hovering somewhere between that of a boy and a young man, was filled with doting affection.

He turned on his side, reached out to brush a stray strand of hair from her face, and watched her for a while longer before finally closing his eyes to sleep.

Last night, Yue Junxiao had been too excited to do anything. They had just talked all night under the covers. As a result, he was full of energy the next morning and went for some morning exercise.

By the time they got out of bed, it was almost eleven o’clock.

Today was the day of the flowing banquet, an event the entire Fierce Tiger City would participate in. Every family would bring out their tables for the city-wide celebration.

The City Lord Mansion had been bustling with activity since early in the morning.

Fierce Tiger City had a huge open square capable of holding hundreds of thousands of people. It was built specifically for major holidays or special occasions and featured a large stage.

A flowing banquet wasn’t an event where one host cooked for everyone. Instead, each family cooked their own food, set it out for all to share, and people could eat from whichever household they pleased.

The more people who ate a family’s food, the better it was considered to be, and the happier the host family would be.

Otherwise, with hundreds of thousands of Beastmen and females in Fierce Tiger City, preparing for such a large-scale flowing banquet would have to start an impossibly long time in advance.
