Chapter 2337: Chapter 2341: Your Husband’s Got Your Back

Honk!

The car behind couldn’t wait any longer and honked the horn.

Leng Zirui quickly pulled back his hand, started the car, and drove through the intersection.

Xu Xia sat in the passenger seat, looking at his side profile, only feeling a blockage in her throat.

Only now did she realize that he did it on purpose, just to let her vent her frustration.

Looking down at the obvious bite mark on his arm, she felt a surge of regret.

"Does it hurt?!"

"If I say it hurts, will there be compensation?" Leng Zirui kept his eyes on the road ahead, "How about tonight you be on top?"

The small pang of guilt in Xu Xia’s heart instantly turned to anger.

"Get lost!"

She turned her face to the side and looked at the scenery directly.

Leng Zirui continued to drive forward, but the corners of his lips had already curled upward.

He had said what he needed to say, let her vent what she needed to vent; he didn’t want to see her start crying tears of gratitude.

Unknowingly, the car had already arrived downstairs at Xu Xia’s apartment building. Leng Zirui got out of the car and personally opened the door for her, "Let’s go, I’ll walk you upstairs."

"What about you?" Xu Xia got out of the car and asked, puzzled.

If he really wanted to stay, he should have parked the car in the underground garage. Now, he just stopped it outside the building, seemingly not intending to stay.

"You were the one who told me to get lost!" Leng Zirui leaned his hand on the car, approaching her face, "Or how about I don’t leave tonight?"

Xu Xia raised a finger to push his head away, "In your dreams."

Leng Zirui chuckled, opened the trunk, and took out two large paper bags, holding her hand with his other hand as he led her up the steps.

His palm was large and warm, with a thin layer of calluses from years of handling guns, and a few small scars, making it uneven but giving a reassuring texture.

Xu Xia didn’t speak, just closed her fingers, also holding his hand tightly.

The two of them remained silent all the way up the elevator until they reached her apartment door. Xu Xia opened her purse and suddenly exclaimed, "Uh-oh, I... I don’t have the key."

"No worries, your husband’s got this!"

Leng Zirui was not surprised at all, this situation was well within his expectations.

He casually fished a slender metal wire from his pocket, poked it a couple of times, and with a click, the door opened.

"How’s that, not bad having a husband like me, right? Even Leng Zimo can’t do this."

"Show-off!" Xu Xia rolled her eyes at him, pushed the door open, and plopped herself onto the sofa as soon as she stepped inside, "Ah, finally home, nothing like the comfort of home."

Leng Zirui carried the paper bags into the kitchen.

"What did you bring?" Xu Xia called out from the couch.

"Food, of course. You’ve been away for so many days, I’m sure the things in the fridge are no longer edible. There’s frozen dumplings and cooked ones; I’ve put the cooked ones in the fridge, so you can microwave them tomorrow morning. The raw ones are in the freezer for you to cook anytime later." Leng Zirui walked into the kitchen, organizing the food in the bags while giving instructions from the doorway, "I also brought some fruits and a few bags of milk along with some snacks Aunt Su made. Do you want some now?"

Xu Xia couldn’t sit still any longer; she got up and walked over, seeing him tossing things out of the fridge and categorically replacing them with the food he brought.

Luckily he was here; otherwise, she wouldn’t have thought about any of this, and she’d be stuck with biscuits again for breakfast tomorrow.
