Chapter 300 - 297: I Like Your Mom, You Stinking Bitch
Chapter 300: Chapter 297: I Like Your Mom, You Stinking Bitch
’I like your mom’s stinking ass!’
A smile on his face, Jiang Xia was about to fire back when his phone suddenly rang.
He glanced at the screen—it was his wife.
"Miss, I need to take this call. Please, have a seat." He gave a wry smile. "Work is always so troublesome."
Zhang Yuanyuan watched him walk out with his phone. After the door closed, her heart began to pound nervously.
She was certain Jiang Xia was flirting with her. If that was the case, she had even less reason to let this golden goose get away.
Though she didn’t know much about him yet, his status as the president of Qitian Animation Company alone was enough. Milking him for even a few resources would save her decades of struggle.
"I’m about to get off work. Are you coming home tonight?" Lin Yanwan’s voice came through the phone.
Jiang Xia walked to the window and glanced back at the reception room. He grinned mysteriously. "Baby, guess who I ran into at the company today?"
"Old Wang? Su Qing? Your godmother?"
"Nope. I ran into that ’green tea’."
"The ’green tea’? The one who screwed over Old Wang in your past life?"
"That’s her. She came here specifically looking for Old Wang. I’m not sure what their relationship is now, but I talked with the ’green tea’ for a bit and found out she’s starting to set her sights on me." Jiang Xia couldn’t help but chuckle.
"’Set her sights on you?’" Lin Yanwan’s tone was odd.
With Jiang Xia’s current charm, good looks, and wealth, if he were to show even a hint of gentleness, it would be a total knockout for girls her age.
"Yep. I dangled a little bait, and the ’green tea’ swallowed it hook, line, and sinker without a second thought."
"I’m warning you, don’t go too far," Lin Yanwan cautioned. "It’s one thing to play around, but know your limits. When you come home tonight, I want to know everything that happened."
Jiang Xia said, "Don’t worry, baby. I’m recording it. I’m only doing this so Old Wang can see what kind of person this ’green tea’ really is. I’m going out to eat with Old Wang tonight, so don’t wait up for me."
"Remember to bring the recording back!"
"Okay, okay, I get it. Love you, mua~"
After hanging up, Jiang Xia checked the time again. He opened the recording file from earlier and confirmed their conversation was clearly audible, breathing a small sigh of relief.
He mentally rehearsed a few lines, started a new recording on his phone, and pushed the door open to go back inside.
"Miss, I’m so sorry, but I have to host an animation seminar right now. Shall we call it a day for now?" he said with a gentle smile.
Zhang Yuanyuan nodded. She hadn’t gotten an answer about whether he liked her, but there was no need to rush things.
"It’s fine, it’s fine. President Jiang, please, go ahead. Don’t worry about me."
She stood up and hesitated for a moment, blushing slightly. "President Jiang, could I get your contact info? I... I mean, if you’re free sometime, maybe we could grab a meal together."
"No problem. Give me your number and I’ll save it. I can never seem to remember my own," Jiang Xia said with an apologetic smile.
"My number is..."
Zhang Yuanyuan recited her phone number, feeling absolutely delighted. Now that he had her number, they could talk in private. ’How long will it take to land him?’ she wondered.
"I’ll walk you out."
Jiang Xia considerately escorted her to the elevators and pressed the button. "If I weren’t so busy today, I would have loved to have dinner with you. Sigh. What a shame."
"It’s okay, President Jiang. Work is more important. Besides, there will be plenty of other chances." Zhang Yuanyuan’s face was flushed. She paused, then added shyly, "I’d love to have dinner with you too, President Jiang."
Jiang Xia pretended to glance around. Seeing no one, he leaned in and whispered close to her ear, "I’ll call you when I’m free, then."
Zhang Yuanyuan froze. A tiny "mhm" escaped her throat. ’President Jiang is such a smooth talker,’ she thought. ’My knees feel weak.’
Just then, the elevator doors opened.
Zhang Yuanyuan took a deep breath. "President Jiang, I’ll be on my way now~ Bye-bye~"
"Bye-bye."
She walked into the elevator and turned to flash a sweet smile. "By the way, President Jiang, my name is Zhang Yuanyuan."
"Yuanyuan. Sounds like a fairy’s name. I’m just curious which parts of you are so ’round,’" Jiang Xia said, his eyes glancing over her body before he broke into a meaningful smile.
Zhang Yuanyuan blushed, deliberately puffing out her chest, but it wasn’t noticeable under her thick down jacket.
"Oh, I... I wouldn’t know," she said, looking down shyly.
"Haha, bye-bye, see you next time."
"Mhm, goodbye, President Jiang."
As the elevator doors slowly closed, Zhang Yuanyuan clutched her phone, lost in a wonderful daydream, wondering when the young, handsome, rich, and gentle President Jiang would call her.
As for Wang Ming, he was long forgotten. At this point, he didn’t even qualify as a backup plan; her only goal was to get her hands on Jiang Xia.
If she couldn’t still get information about Jiang Xia from him, she would have deleted his contact information on the spot.
Watching Zhang Yuanyuan leave, Jiang Xia let out a long sigh of relief. Putting on that act for so long against his conscience had thoroughly disgusted him.
Still, it was worth it. This ’green tea’ was exactly as he remembered from his past life: a gold digger, pure and simple. The moment a better prospect appeared, she would dump her current boyfriend without a second thought. For someone reborn like him, dealing with a schemer like her was child’s play.
The recordings he had so far were more than enough to completely ruin her.
Back inside the office, Jiang Xia walked up to the front desk. "Sister Liu, if that girl ever comes back, throw her out."
Liu Xinyue was taken aback. ’Weren’t they just laughing and chatting so happily?’ she wondered. ’Why the sudden hostility?’
She had even wondered if the boss was having an affair, but the girl wasn’t nearly as beautiful as the boss’s wife. ’So he must be vetting her for a friend?’
But the boss had given an order, and whatever his reasons, her job was to follow it.
"Understood, boss."
Having taken care of that, Jiang Xia walked over to Old Wang’s workstation and tapped lightly on his desk. "Old Wang, let’s go out to eat in a bit."
"Just the two of us? What about your wife?"
"She’s not coming."
Wang Ming was a little surprised. Ever since this guy started dating Lin Yanwan, the two of them hadn’t eaten a single meal alone. Even back in the high school cafeteria, he would always find a reason to sit with Lin Yanwan.
"What’s up? Something on your mind?"
"Just wanted to chat. It’s nothing big. About animation, work, stuff like that," Jiang Xia said.
"Alright. Just let me finish this drawing."
Wang Ming nodded, not thinking much of it. It really had been a long time since they’d gone out for food and drinks together.
On his way, Jiang Xia stopped by to let Li Weiya know he was going out to eat with Wang Ming to discuss some work matters.
Li Weiya readily agreed.
