All My Professions Have Divine-Level Talents
Chapter 679 - 435: Dispelling Confusion
Chapter 679: Chapter 435: Dispelling Confusion
Once the truth is known, mystery fades.
Lu Cang felt he had many questions for Pari, but she was a Level 9 Divination Master.
He had already encountered Luoti before.
’A Level 9 Reincarnator... even if I ask her, can I trust her words?’
But... regardless of whether her answers were true or false, they would still be meaningful.
"Pari."
"What destiny do you want me to change?"
"And what do you want me to do?"
Pari’s expression remained perfectly calm as she turned a page. "I don’t expect you to go out of your way to change anything, nor do I intend for you to do anything specific."
"I’ve said it before. Divination Masters are merely spectators of Destiny..."
"This is true for Divination Masters of any level."
Pari’s tone was calm and indifferent. "I have no intention of harming you, nor do I plan to help you directly."
"If you want a Divination, then pay the corresponding price."
As she spoke, Lu Cang once again glimpsed a distant destiny. He saw the Fallen Abyss spreading like ink across the Moon Sea.
He saw Nests tear open all over the world, and a deluge of Demons descended upon the mortal realm.
In that future, Dungeons no longer existed.
It was no longer humans and various other intelligent races entering Dungeons to hunt Demons. Instead, the Demons were hunting humanity.
Lu Cang even saw Demons thinking like humans, conversing with one another.
Simply by standing beside Pari, he could see the future.
"To a Level 9 Divination Master, all things in this world are fated. Only a tiny handful of individuals are variables."
"For example, the forgetting of the first month."
"All of these destinies are both predetermined and real."
Pari had said nothing.
And yet, these futures had manifested before Lu Cang’s eyes.
Lu Cang remained unshaken by the vision. Instead, he asked, "Pari, what exactly do you know about me?"
Pari replied calmly, "I know you’re connected to the Tree of Wisdom, and I know you come from Earth."
"And I know that you’re only speaking with me in a simulated timeline."
"Is there anything you’d like me to divine for you?"
Lu Cang fell silent for a moment.
"How do I end this time reset?"
Pari said, "You should already know, shouldn’t you? Go to the origin point of your own Time, to the place that existed before your birth."
"Is my Talent useless against you?"
Pari replied, "No, it’s actually quite effective."
"But since we’re face-to-face, I’m not divining you. I’m divining myself."
"Based on its effect, your Talent would work on the vast majority of Level 9 Reincarnators..."
"A Divine Talent is, in essence, a Rule in itself."
"Divine Talents themselves originate from the Source."
"Therefore, as long as it’s not used against a power on the same level as the Source, it should be effective."
Lu Cang met Pari’s gaze in silence.
’Pari...’
’You know far too much.’
Never before had Lu Cang felt so exposed, as if all his secrets were laid bare. Not even with Luoti, nor when he faced Sophia, had he felt this way.
Only Pari, the woman before him now, made Lu Cang feel as if his countless secrets had nowhere to hide.
"Fifteen billion Gold Coins," Pari said suddenly.
Hearing this price, the corner of Lu Cang’s mouth twitched.
"I don’t have the money right now."
"If you can’t pay, then you can owe me."
"Pay me back the next time we meet."
’Pari is being uncharacteristically generous.’
In this timeline, his entire net worth was only a few thousand Gold Coins; he couldn’t possibly afford Pari’s exorbitant Divination fees.
"Do you have any other questions?"
’Hmm...’
’This is a good opportunity. It would be a waste not to ask. I’ll just have to judge for myself later whether or not her words are trustworthy.’
To the current Lu Cang, money was little more than a worldly possession.
"Do I have a chance to save Earth? And what exactly happened there?"
Pari replied, "Whether you can save it, I do not know."
"But Earth was originally located in the Star Realm. The Star Realm is what you would call the universe. However, contrary to what you were taught on Earth—and also contrary to the current world’s view of it—the planets of the Star Realm are actually a type of petri dish."
Lu Cang asked, "Petri dish?"
Pari said, "Twenty billion Gold Coins."
The corner of Lu Cang’s mouth twitched again.
"Fine."
’Money is easy enough to come by... With so many countries and regions, there’s always a way to earn it.’
"Mm."
"If you know about the Void, then you should be able to understand the Star Realm."
’The Void... I do know about that.’
Xu Zhou was a creature from the Void; he had even invited him there. But in reality, the people of this world knew very, very little about the Void.
Even in the White Tower, there weren’t many records concerning the Void.
All that was known was that a group of beings called Void Creatures lived there.
They had only ever been seen in the Battle Arena; other than that, virtually no one in the mortal world had ever witnessed their existence.
Thinking about it that way, the Battle Arena seemed even more mysterious.
Back when he was in Ruelun, he had merely thought it was a rather interesting and special wonder. He never imagined that its legendary builder, Emperor Fu, was all that powerful.
But now...
In a world this vast, it was shocking that every single inhabited continent and island had a Battle Arena.
Even the Abyss, the Celestial Realm, and the Void—which no one had ever even seen with their own eyes—had Battle Arenas.
Even a remote maritime region like Ruelun had one.
It made the wonder seem both magnificent and utterly bizarre.
What was most peculiar was...
Whether in ancient city-states or in nations founded just in recent years, there were no records whatsoever of a Battle Arena’s construction.
It was as if they simply materialized out of thin air shortly after a city was established.
And when asked, no one could remember when they had appeared.
’Was it there before, or did it appear after the city was built...?’
"The Void is, in fact, another Star Realm. Before it became the Void, it was a different world."
"You should remember the Moon of the eighth month."
Lu Cang nodded. "Peaceful and Peaceful Pegga."
"Pegga hoped to create a world of absolute peace, free of all conflict—a perfectly ideal world."
"The Void is what remains of that world."
"But that world failed. The failed world collapsed and shattered, ultimately becoming the Void, a place no one could enter."
"The Void is barren of materials; there are almost no resources capable of growing or regenerating."
"All materials there are precious."
"The only things that could survive there were the lifeforms jointly created by Sophia and Pegga... a species that was, in theory, the perfect form of life."
"They are what the world now calls Void Creatures."
"And the reason that world became the Void is simply because Pegga and Sophia abandoned them."
"They decided that such life could not be considered truly perfect."
"It was then that Sophia’s own definition of a truly perfect life-form also changed."
"Ultimately, the project was abandoned, and Sophia ended her collaboration with Pegga."
"The Star Realm of today is another of Pegga’s experiments. It simulates worlds and civilizations in an attempt to find the path to a perfect, ideal peace through endless evolution."
"The Star Realm became the petri dish for new worlds."
"And a petri dish for life itself."
"Compared to the mortal world, the Star Realm gives rise to more possibilities, birthing all manner of strange, special, and bizarre life."
"It’s even possible for a species to be born there—one that is naturally devoid of Spirituality, yet is otherwise identical to humans, and could even contain the complete Tree of Wisdom, rather than an empty vessel that can only hold one or two leaves."
