Chapter 688: Chapter 444: Teleport

They gradually learned more about the Demons from the Phase Spider.

In truth, the Phase Spider didn’t know much either.

It only needed to fulfill the mission bestowed upon it by the Insect Nest.

As a result, it wasn’t privy to much core intelligence.

Even so, what Lu Cang learned from it was more than enough.

And Iz, studying the Phase Spider, had finally figured out the corresponding Magic...

This world was composed of many different, diverse spaces.

The coordinates of the material world also had corresponding points within these different spaces.

The Phase Space.

This space was extremely small—pitifully so compared to the rest of the world.

It might not even have been as large as the Secret Sand Archipelago.

But even this tiny space corresponded to the entire world. It was like holding a world map; one only needed to point to a spot on it to correspond to a real location in the material world.

Moreover, every point in this space had a perfect one-to-one correspondence.

This provided the coordinates necessary for spatial transference.

However, to enter and exit the Phase Space, one had to possess the natural Talent of a Phase Race.

In other words, the bloodline of a creature like a Phase Spider or a Phase Mantis.

Otherwise, ordinary creatures couldn’t enter the Phase Space.

Even if they forced their way in, death would be the only outcome.

It was practically a privilege exclusive to their race.

However...

Their method of opening passages for other creatures to pass through the Phase Space could be emulated.

It was an ability called Phase Transition.

It directly bypassed the Phase Space, connecting two separate spaces.

However, it required the body of a Phase creature to act as a bridge.

This was why those rifts were filled with insects.

As he observed, an idea began to form.

Izparut began to construct a new form of Magic.

The Phase Spider wanted to escape, but it was helpless.

The two of them stood guard over it.

Even if it wanted to call for help, its voice couldn’t travel, and no information could escape. The flow of time had slowed here. Although Future Preview could only simulate a single day...

...if Lu Cang wished, he could make that time feel much, much longer for himself.

Iz touched the carapace before him.

’Bloodlines... what a hassle.’

’To open passages to different regions, it actually relies on higher-level Phase coordinates.’

’I need to determine the coordinates to be able to move.’

’If I haven’t been to a place, I can’t determine its Phase coordinate.’

Having deconstructed the Magic, Iz finally let out a long sigh of relief.

At last, he understood.

He understood how these rifts to all corners of the world were born and how they were constructed.

BUZZ—

He lightly raised a hand, and a rift appeared before them.

Phase Teleportation

At the very least, he now knew the Phase coordinates for the Ruelun Continent.

He had obtained the Phase coordinates for many locations from the spider. Even if he couldn’t reach every single place in the world, he could now access most of it.

The main locations this particular Phase Spider opened passages to were the Moon Sea, the Secret Sea, the Muddy Sea, and the Star Realm.

SWOOSH—

Darkness surged and a Seal formed. Izparut sealed the Phase Spider before him.

"Let’s head back first."

Finally, it was over...

Lu Cang slowly opened his eyes.

SWOOSH—

The Future Preview ended.

Lu Cang took no further action. After sealing Nie Ye, he simply waited where he was.

Before long, Chi Cheng returned.

Soon after, Iz emerged from a rift and returned to the material world, looking slightly regretful.

...

After they returned to Raine Town, they found that the town’s Demons were all gone, but Lu Cang was being treated as a stranger.

Fortunately, Lu Cang had the Arcane Rune that Iz had left for him.

Lu Cang quickly explained the situation.

...

Lu Cang also shared the Magic he had learned during the Future Preview with Iz.

Seeing Lu Cang produce the very Magic he had wanted to research, Iz was overjoyed.

After that, came the interrogation of Meiser, as well as speculation and analysis regarding the future.

As they listened to the vast amount of intelligence Lu Cang relayed, everyone’s expression grew complicated.

They had just saved Ruelun, yet they never expected that the entire Secret Sea would be destroyed not long after.

And because the intelligence Lu Cang brought back was from so far in the future, their course of action would no longer be the same; they wouldn’t just be re-enacting the past anymore.

Between her faith and her companions, Kumironi chose to trust her companions.

In truth, Kumironi hadn’t yet established a deep bond of trust with Lu Cang at this point. However, because Iz trusted Lu Cang, she did as well.

Kumironi no longer believed in Sophia.

At Lu Cang’s suggestion, Iz opened a Phase Teleportation passage to the Moon Sea. Izparut and the others arrived in the Empty Valley.

They also reached the Time Relic that Lu Cang had described.

Iz and the others, along with Lu Cang, reached the deepest part of the relic and saw the door.

"Is Aikator behind this door?" Iz asked.

Lu Cang replied, "Her past self, I hear."

Ripples of Time were indeed emanating from the door, and Lu Cang could see the halo of the Second Forbidden Magic—Time behind it.

Normally, he would have had to go through the door to obtain this Magic.

But thanks to Iz’s presence, the sequence for obtaining this Magic was moved up.

"It truly is a combination of matter and Time. This isn’t my area of expertise."

"I might be able to interpret a portion of it with Magic, though..."

Iz muttered.

Meanwhile, Chi Cheng looked at the door and asked, "Can I try to just blast it open?"

Iz said, "If you blast it open, it seems it will cause time to flow backward."

"It might send Lu Cang even further back into the past. It’s best not to destroy it."

Chi Cheng scratched his head. "Oh, alright."

...

Kumironi looked toward the great door.

But in Kumironi’s vision, she saw... life.

"Perhaps I can try to speak with the being behind the door."

Iz turned his head and asked, "Can you really do that?"

Kumironi replied, "I’ll try."

With that, Kumironi walked toward the door, slowly closed her eyes, and focused her senses.

She felt a life force behind the door, communing with her own.

"Hello?" Kumironi asked tentatively.

There was a response from the door.

"Why... must I remain here?"

"I should remain here."

"I want to get out."

"No, I must remain here forever."

The voices, like those of tormented souls, echoed around her. They weren’t a reply to Kumironi, but rather the residual thoughts of someone who had once existed in this place, at some point in time.

These fragmented thoughts gradually converged, growing louder and louder.

Suddenly, a clear female voice cut through the myriad thoughts.

"Who?"
