All My Summons Become Divine Girls

Chapter 577: When Bells Finish

  • Next Chapter

The last north brace was still loose when the deployment clock reached eleven minutes five seconds, its ordinary shaft held between the clone’s hands beneath Loccy’s planted burden.

Hajin watched from Ferra’s junction while the worker beside him took the splint’s weight, waiting for the smith’s nod before he moved his right hand clear.

The three exposed cores pulsed through the same damaged interval.

Juna had her completed Daybreak line above Sky, Rumi and Nari keeping the single prepared road between North and Alder while Eirwen held the stored force inside her living roots.

Vella stayed with the freed operators until each had answered her last check, the six people sitting beyond the severed blue lines with their hands finally resting where they put them.

The generals were alone in their chosen command.

Hajin turned toward the north access when Loccy brought the final loose edge down against the waiting brace, the clone using its borrowed spear to keep the small gap from closing early.

An ordinary worker drove the support into its seat.

The clone held the spear through one more pull, watching the new brace take that load before it offered the shaft to the worker beside it.

"Yours."

The worker caught it with both hands.

The clone took the hammer from the supported patch next, passing it to the waiting assistant before giving him the ordinary chisel from beside its knee.

Three borrowed tools left its hands.

Loccy checked the fixed local edge while her foot stayed planted, her nod reaching the clone before the next demand passed through the occupied shell.

The body looked toward Hajin at the junction.

"Do not keep the Ring active for my sake."

Hajin felt his own mouth tighten at the familiar voice coming from somebody whose work he was about to remember the hard way.

"Come back."

The clone raised one empty hand in a brief wave.

It dissolved at eleven minutes thirty seconds from the original split, the single assigned Ring going dark while the north workers kept the last brace beneath Loccy’s unchanged hold.

The return hit Hajin before the first bell.

His knee nearly folded under the remembered slip beside the joint, the strain from the borrowed tools arriving through forearms already sore from the sky frequency and the bleeding socket.

He caught the ordinary rail with his right hand.

’All right, yes, I also hated that ledge.’

The memory of waiting for the last nursery child reached him with the ache of keeping the chisel still, the moment becoming his without making the floor beneath his present feet any easier to trust.

Five Rings remained active above his shaking arm.

The sixth would return in thirty seconds.

Ferra signaled the first count through the junction bell, its timed strikes carried by the ordinary relays while the three fronts held their different refusals inside the exposed interval.

At North, Loccy kept the occupied shell connected over the parked foundry, the workers who had taken the clone’s tools staying beside the support it had finished.

At Alder, the gray weight bent Eirwen’s new roots toward the ground while she held its stored answer away from the cleared road.

Above Sky, Juna waited with the completed solar route ready, the second circle’s cost visible in the tight set of her shoulders whenever Hajin looked up through the brace.

The first five-second bell rang.

He let go of the rail once his leg answered, pressing his empty left hand against the common exposed hinge to sample the pulse Ferra had identified.

The command tried to finish itself through that point.

Three refused movements stopped it.

Didi’s shelter doors remained open beneath the sky pressure, the people inside their bounded frost protected while the keepers pulled the last waiting strangers out of the strike approaches.

Another five seconds passed on the bell.

Vella moved the final operator farther behind the clinic’s safe edge with the guard’s help, putting him beyond the opening Juna would cut between the sky body and the roofs.

Hajin followed that actual movement before bringing his attention back to the shared frequency, its sampled rhythm holding steady beneath the damage that had exposed it.

The next bell reached him through teeth he had started clenching.

He loosened his jaw.

The clone’s fatigue stayed.

Ferra looked at his face over her fork, then at the dark place where the returning sixth Ring would have to settle above his right wrist.

"Still with us?"

"Unfortunately for them."

Her mouth moved before the next strained note took it away, the smith turning her tool toward the hostile coupling that kept trying to pull the repaired anchor back into the generals’ agreement.

She drove the available heat through her own forged join, burning that foreign coupling off the circuit while the workers kept her cracked anchor splinted against the load.

The hostile fixture broke away in a hot shower beneath the bracket.

Ferra kept the fork in her own hand.

The fifth timed bell left only one interval before the Ring’s return, every front still held by the people who had taken its particular weight.

Hajin could hear Loccy breathing through the north call, the ordinary worker beside her shouting that the last brace remained seated.

An Alder runner answered with Eirwen’s ready line.

Juna looked down at him from the sky turn, waiting until he met her eyes before she gave her own nod.

The final bell sounded.

The sixth Ring returned around Hajin’s right forearm, completing the active set over a body that still carried every ache the clone had brought home.

He drew the divine Growth blade into his right hand, then the demonic blade into his left, both weapons settling into their proper grips while the Legendary Chain stayed stored.

"Juna."

Her Daybreak line released across the route she had already completed, the stored solar cuts separating the sky body’s exposed approach from the occupied shelters beneath it.

The first complete core hung clear beyond the cut.

Hajin took the cleared upper steps with all six Rings driving his movement, entering only after Juna’s released line had finished crossing the place his body needed to pass.

Phase Lock found the sampled command at its exposed seam.

His right blade severed that authority through the open line while the left met the same wound, consuming the regeneration that tried to close around its physical edge.

Crossed Resonance opened across the identified seam.

The sky core broke between the two opposed frequencies, the general’s collapsing body losing its last reach toward the roofs Juna had cut free.

Hajin turned down the secured brace while the others held the shared interval open, his feet taking him along the cleared ordinary approach toward North instead of chasing the dead body’s falling light.

Loccy lifted the exposed local edge just enough to give his blades the path the general had been trying to force through her carried structure.

He struck its core at the same sampled seam.

The divine blade cut the exposed authority while the demonic edge touched the returning flesh, its hungry answer stopping regeneration inside the wound his right hand had already made.

The north core failed with the occupied shell still held above it.

Rumi opened the waiting way from the fixed North landing to Alder, Nari keeping the single prepared return straight as Hajin reached the mark they had steadied together.

He crossed through their known road with both blades clear of its edges.

Eirwen stood beyond the arrival with her longbow raised, releasing one controlled layer of the force actually stored in her prepared roots through the cleared line ahead of him.

The answer struck the Alder body’s outer hold.

Its core came free of the road without the stored blow entering the people who had already cleared Rumi’s marks, the prepared network emptying beneath Eirwen’s aching hand.

Hajin reached that last exposed seam before the held interval could close.

His right blade severed its shared command while the left met the physical wound, the third complete core breaking where the two frequencies crossed inside it.

The pressure over Alder fell away.

For a moment he heard only the scrape of his own boot beyond the prepared landing, the sudden absence of three competing orders leaving the air strangely large around his breath.

Eirwen lowered her bow with a tremor in her fingers.

Rumi’s voice came through the same road from North, the report of its core’s death meeting Juna’s shout from the cleared sky approach through the ordinary junction relays.

Three cores had fallen.

Hajin looked at Eirwen’s living road before he looked for any number, finding Tovin still in the spare cloak beside the barrier the freed man had helped move.

[ Reconciled Hostile Core Experience: 70,000,000 ]

[ Hajin Current Experience: 580,000,000 / 1,000,000,000 ]

[ Ferra Hostile Fixture Experience: 300,000 ]

[ Ferra Wing Progress: 700,000 / 1,500,000 ]

The contribution from each held front joined the one reconciled result, Ferra’s destroyed hostile fixture carrying its own separate award beside the broken three-general command.

A separate recovery notice followed the core account through Hajin’s inner sight.

[ Fragment Recovery: 47.00% → 49.00% ]

He shared the completed receipts only after the three ordinary front reports agreed, their voices giving him names to put beside the numbers that Aria displayed.

"Remember the people before you remember the number."

The words went down the same open approaches that had carried the bells, a worker chalking them beside the north slate while Loccy finally handed more of the parked burden into the completed supports.

Hajin stored his left blade first, then the right, freeing his sore hands before he returned through the one prepared road to the junction.

The relief that met him there came in small untidy pieces.

The older operator laughed when she lifted her arm without a hostile line following it, the man beside her crying into Juna’s borrowed shade glove while a guard pretended not to notice.

Loccy sat only after the engineers confirmed the occupied shell’s connected weight was secure, the sole of her ruined boot lying beside the worker who had promised to keep it.

Ferra’s award reached her with warmth along the hand holding her fork, the smith looking at the broken hostile coupling before finally setting the tool in its own resting loop.

Hajin brought the two stored field-supply lots into the cleared relief space once the approaches were safe, their forty food packs going to Tessa’s waiting kitchen hands while the twenty dressings reached Vella’s patient stores.

The twenty wash and comfort kits followed to the local keepers, the receipts from the two earlier purchases marked issued while people began the ordinary work of carrying them where they were needed.

The food still needed preparing.

That felt like excellent news.

Ferra joined the local engineers at the repaired-heart readings after the first relief teams were through, her wrapped hand resting on the table while they compared the stabilized load with the old shield forecast.

The former countdown did not survive their new measurements.

[ Shield forecast: No imminent failure at current load ]

[ Continued maintenance: Required ]

One engineer checked the quiet river anchor again before confirming the result, his shoulders dropping only after the second reading matched the first.

Hajin sat beside the table with his hands open on his knees, listening to the maintenance shifts being arranged instead of a date when the city would die.

People began finding each other beneath the ordinary sky.

A child reached the woman who had shut her crooked window, the two holding so tightly at the shelter entrance that nobody tried to make them move out of the way.

For several breaths Hajin let that be the thing happening in front of him.

Then Sava stopped writing.

Her thumb moved across the public family ledger beside the table, catching a dark smudge where one completed name had begun losing its letters beneath the untouched ink.

She looked up at him with the page still open.

"This was here."

Hajin leaned forward as another family name thinned beside the first, the city alive around them while something continued taking people out of its record.
