Chapter 825: Chapter 825: The Unlucky Twin Sister (54)

Outside, the voices of Pei Jian Country and his wife rang out, very loud, as if they were trying to summon the whole village over.

"Pei Qianyan, you shameless bitch, how do you even have the face to come back to the village!" Yang Chunhua’s curses carried into the house. "I knew long ago you weren’t the settling-down type. Now you’ve done that kind of shameless crap—was losing face out there not enough for you, you had to come back here to disgrace yourself in the village too?"

"So young and you don’t learn anything decent, just doing things worse than pigs and dogs."

Qiann Yan’s brows tightened slightly. She stood up and walked toward the door.

She hadn’t come back for over a year—what on earth had happened in the village?

Judging from Yang Chunhua’s words, it sounded like her reputation in the village was awful. Was that why the village chief had just now wanted to say something but held back?

"Village Chief, tell me what happened."

The village chief opened his mouth, but before he could speak, Yang Chunhua cut in: "You still have the face to ask? Sitting here pretending to be all innocent—what for? All the things you could’ve learned at your age, you had to go learn to be like those sluts, becoming some rich man’s mistress. I was wondering why you hadn’t come back this whole year; turns out you were in the city raising a fetus."

"I heard you haven’t gone to class for over a year. Folks in the village, just look—back then you all poured your hearts out for her, and this is how she repays you. Good thing we figured it out early that she was trouble, so we didn’t waste our effort raising something so disgraceful."

Even though there were a few people standing beside Qiann Yan, looking a bit intimidating, ever since Yang Chunhua had heard those rumors about her, she wasn’t scared at all.

Hah, isn’t it just that some rich person arranged people to protect her?

"Miss Pei, are these your parents?"

In fact, they already knew what was going on with Pei Qianyan’s side; they were just asking out of courtesy.

Qiann Yan said, "Yeah, but we stopped having anything to do with each other years ago. My tuition for my first year of school was scraped together by the villagers; they had nothing to do with it. When I was a kid..."

"Miss Pei, this woman has insulted you. I’ve already called the police, and next we’ll proceed to arrest her."

Qiann Yan said, "Mm."

Good to have her taken in, or else her own hands would be itching to hit.

The bodyguard put away the brand-new phone. It actually hadn’t gone on the market yet; it was a benefit Qiann Yan gave them.

The village chief hadn’t noticed before that so many people were standing outside. Seeing their formation now, he suddenly felt this was something out of the ordinary.

Actually, he’d always taken the rumors that had spread with a grain of salt. Besides, even if they were true, Yan had never forgotten them all these years, so she couldn’t really be a bad person—maybe she’d just taken a wrong turn for a bit.

He’d planned to ask clearly. If she really had done something wrong, he hoped to persuade her, to let her get back on the right path as soon as possible.

But now, obviously, things were not the same as the rumors.

With this whole reporting-to-the-police scene, he couldn’t even guess what was going on.

Many people from the village had already come. They, too, couldn’t believe that Qiann Yan, who had never once forgotten them, would do something like that.

People all have their private thoughts—Qiann Yan wasn’t ungrateful; she’d kept thinking of them all these years. Even if she had done something, they didn’t feel they had the right to blame her.

She treated them well, and that was enough.

Not long after, a group of people in uniforms arrived in the village and took Yang Chunhua away.

Now even the village chief couldn’t sit still. He hurriedly asked what was going on.

"She verbally insulted Miss Pei."

Such a simple reason, yet it shocked the village chief. This matter was getting less and less simple.

Now that the company had the state at its back, Qiann Yan didn’t plan to hide things anymore. This time she’d come back specifically to give the village some farming vehicles and small trucks, and she also planned to put up the money to repair the road from the village to the town.

After Qiann Yan’s explanation, the villagers all understood.

Starting from her freshman year at university, Qiann Yan had begun her own business. After she’d saved enough capital, she founded a company. She just felt she hadn’t achieved enough results yet, so she hadn’t told them.
