Feng Yi said there would be a once-in-a-century Gemini meteor shower appearing over Saudi Arabia on the night of May 24th.

So he waited until that night.

“Sir, are you here for tourism? There are many interesting places in Saudi Arabia. Aren’t you going to have a look?” said a cheerful cleaning lady who came to tidy the room.

Ning Yan lightly replied.

He wasn’t there for tourism.

Traveling never had much meaning for him.

On the night of May 24th, Ning Yan went to the desert under the night sky, where the wind blew across the sands, lifting fine grains and brushing past his palms.

Standing alone on a sand dune, Ning Yan allowed the wind to lift the hem of his clothes.

He raised his head and fixed his gaze on the night sky, as calm as a still lake. Suddenly, a star streaked across, stirring waves and ripples in this celestial lake.

One by one, meteors blazed across the sky; the meteor shower had arrived.

The meteor shower that Feng Yi had always anticipated and talked about was finally here.

But this time, only he was there to witness it.

Ning Yan stood alone on the dune, quietly looking up as meteors streaked across the firmament.

He had never understood the beauty of the cosmos, yet suddenly, in that brief moment, he seemed to understand a bit.

Because there was anticipation, even this cold starry sky seemed to have warmth.

He watched quietly.

After a long while, he took out his phone from his pocket and dialed a number.

Once connected, he spoke to the person on the other end: “Professor Tang.”
