Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever

Chapter 437 - 438 - I’m glad I punched him that day

Chapter 437: Chapter 438 - I’m glad I punched him that day

Seraphine looked at Voren, silently wondering if she was asking too much of him.

Damon had stood by her through every single difficult moment. He had walked away from his multi-billion-dollar company in the city just to be her spy inside the pack, and now he wanted to become a real part of the Grimroot Pack.

She really hoped Voren wouldn’t mind creating another position just for one of her closest and most loyal allies.

Their eyes met. Voren understood exactly what she was asking without her needing to say a single word. A moment later, he gave her a small, decisive nod.

His decision came easily. The moment he had chosen to marry Seraphine, he had already accepted that the people she trusted most would become part of his life too. If they were loyal to her, they were more than welcome in his pack.

A warm, grateful smile spread across Seraphine’s face. "Well," she said into the phone, "Voren agreed to make you the Gamma." She chuckled softly before adding, "The Grimroot Pack already has two Betas, so I’m afraid that position isn’t available."

"No, no!" Damon interrupted so fast that everyone could hear the pure excitement bursting through his voice. "I don’t care about being a Beta at all." He laughed loudly.

"I already know he’s probably going to punch me in the face again, but who cares?" His laughter grew even louder. "Someone had to make him stop dragging his feet!"

Seraphine blinked in confusion, her brows knitting together. "What are you talking about?"

"Nothing," Damon answered a little too quickly. "I’ll settle it with Alpha Voren when I see him."

Before Seraphine could ask anything else, the call ended. She slowly lowered the phone and turned toward Voren. "What was that supposed to mean?"

Instead of answering, Voren looked away. A rare hint of embarrassment flashed across his face. Thinking back now, he couldn’t believe how ridiculously stubborn he had been.

For so long he had buried his real feelings deep down and convinced himself that his interest in Seraphine was nothing more than a smart financial decision. Looking back, even he felt completely embarrassed by all the excuses he had made.

He cleared his throat. "Why are you asking me?" His voice sounded unusually awkward. "I’m not the one who brought it up."

Corvine looked from Voren to Seraphine and then chuckled. "I think I know exactly what Damon meant."

Both of them turned to look at him. Corvine folded his arms, still grinning. "It has to be about the way Voren kept denying he was in love with you."

He shook his head, trying not to laugh again. "Damon probably figured it out too." A mischievous smile crossed his face. "My guess is he confronted Voren about it."

Everything suddenly clicked. Seraphine’s lips curled into an amused smile but what she could not put a finger on was the part about the punch.

"He mentioned that he didn’t care if Voren punched him again."

She turned toward her husband, ready to tease him mercilessly. But before she could say a word, Voren quickly stood up and took several steps back. "I’m glad I punched him that day."

Seraphine’s eyes widened. "What?" She couldn’t stop smiling. "You actually punched Damon? Why?"

Voren pretended not to hear her and raised his voice toward the other side of the deck instead. "Espe!"

Esperanza turned around immediately. Beside her, Jasmine also looked over from where they had been standing near the railing, enjoying the peaceful view of the ocean.

"Pack everything up," he said, his expression turning serious again. "We’re leaving."

"Okay!" Esperanza answered happily.

Jasmine nodded and immediately and guided Esperanza below deck to pack their things.

Voren then looked at Corvine. "Aren’t you going to pack too?" Without waiting for a reply, he added, "I’m going to get my wife’s things."

The words slipped out so naturally. ’My wife.’ Even hearing himself say it made his heart race a little faster. Not wanting to face Seraphine’s teasing, he turned around and walked away before she could stop him.

The moment he disappeared from sight, Seraphine laughed as she pictured Damon’s confrontation with Voren in her mind. The fact that Voren did not want to talk about it meant he wasn’t proud of it.

Corvine couldn’t help laughing right along with her. "I’ve never seen Alpha Voren run away from anyone before."

Seraphine shook her head, still laughing. "He was actually embarrassed."

Several minutes later, the sound of another helicopter echoed across the ocean. Everyone looked up as it slowly descended toward the yacht.

Before boarding, Voren stepped aside and made one last phone call. Pete. He waited until the call connected. "I just wanted to remind you about my agreement with Leon." His tone stayed calm but firm as Pete responded, "I’m working on it sir, it should be ready in a few days and I will personally deliver it to him."

Voren was satisfied with the answer. When he gives his word, he keeps it.

He ended the call, and only then did everyone climb into the helicopter.

As soon as they were seated, Seraphine quietly leaned against Voren. Without even thinking, he wrapped a strong arm around her. She relaxed completely into his warm embrace and slowly closed her eyes.

For the first time in days, everything around her felt truly peaceful. The steady rumble of the helicopter and the comforting warmth of Voren beside her quickly lulled her into a deep sleep.

She didn’t wake up once during the entire flight.

When she finally opened her eyes again, the helicopter was gone. She found herself lying on a soft, luxurious bed inside an elegant hotel suite.

The room was spacious and beautifully decorated with modern furniture, and was quite warm.

Still half asleep, she slowly looked around before her gaze landed on Voren. He stood right beside the bed, looking down at her with clear concern written all over his face.

Confusion washed over her as she slowly sat up. "What’s going on?"
