An Accidental Military Marriage
Chapter 163: Adept at Undressing
Chapter 163: Chapter 163: Adept at Undressing
Initially, An Hui had been angry at her younger daughter-in-law, Jiang Moli, too.
She had promised to look after her granddaughter before she left, but just a few days after her arrival, the girl had almost been kidnapped.
And she had hidden such a major incident from the family.
But the moment she heard that Jiang Moli had chewed out her older daughter-in-law, she couldn’t be bothered to be angry anymore.
"Why did you yell at your sister-in-law?"
"She made you angry, so she deserved it. I know you can’t bring yourself to scold your daughter-in-law because you’re afraid people will call you a wicked mother-in-law. But I’m not afraid of what people say, so I did it for you."
An Hui: "..."
’How considerate of you.’
"So, Mom, are you feeling a little better now?"
Although she didn’t want her two daughters-in-law to fight, she had to admit that what her younger daughter-in-law did was quite heartwarming.
"What exactly did you say to your sister-in-law?"
"I called her stupid and brainless. If she had even a shred of conscience, she’d be on her knees serving you tea and begging for forgiveness right now. If not, it just means she’s ignorant, and we don’t need to get angry over someone so ignorant. Be good now, okay?"
These words made An Hui’s eyes well up.
’That heartless girl, saying such things to hurt her.’
"Mom, don’t worry. Your eldest granddaughter is quite capable now. She can hold her own in a fight and is smart enough to tutor others. She eats well every day, is in great shape, and has even gotten a little smarter."
Hearing that her eldest granddaughter was eating and sleeping well, An Hui felt relieved.
Thankfully, nothing had happened to her granddaughter. Otherwise, she would have regretted not stopping her from going for the rest of her life.
Among all her grandsons and granddaughters, she doted on her eldest, Lu Tingting, the most. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so hurt by her older daughter-in-law’s words.
After placating An Hui, Jiang Moli had Ma Hongmei take the phone.
"Hongmei, we’re having guests tomorrow night. Please make a few extra special dishes."
Ma Hongmei was puzzled. "Who is it?"
"You’ll find out when the time comes. Just pull out all the stops—chicken, duck, fish, the works. And make some spicy crayfish. Ah, just talking about it is making my mouth water."
Ma Hongmei was amused by her craving. Thinking about how Jiang Moli was in a poor backwater like Menghai, where it was probably hard to even get a decent meal with meat, her tone filled with concern.
"If you want to eat crayfish, I’ll cook a huge pot for you when you get back."
"You got it!"
After hanging up, Jiang Moli turned to Lu Cheng and said, "Alright, I’m heading back."
Lu Cheng walked her back to the guest house, commenting on her method of handling things. "That method of yours isn’t all that great. Sure, you placated Mom, but you’ve also made a mortal enemy of our sister-in-law. Isn’t that like hurting the enemy by a thousand only to lose eight hundred yourself?"
"What’s the rush? I’ll give our sister-in-law a call tomorrow."
"To yell at her again?"
Jiang Moli shot him a look. "You just stay out of my business. By the way, do you have crayfish around here?"
"Yeah, the river at the foot of the mountain is full of them. What do you want them for?"
"When you have time, catch a bucketful. Make sure to pick out the big ones, and I’ll make you something delicious."
Lu Cheng didn’t think there was anything tasty about crayfish—they were fishy and had barely any meat. But he couldn’t disappoint his wife, so he agreed immediately.
After dropping Jiang Moli off at the entrance of the guest house, Lu Cheng returned to the barracks.
Tang Xiaoyue was on duty again tonight.
After bantering with Tang Xiaoyue on the first floor for a bit, Jiang Moli went back up to her room on the second floor.
As if sensing her return, Jiaojiao started barking, "WOOF WOOF," from behind the door.
Just as Jiang Moli was unlocking the door with her key, Lu Tingting came out of the room next door.
"You didn’t tell my mom about what happened to me, did you?"
Jiang Moli grinned. "I did. Your mom said she’s going to kill you."
Lu Tingting was furious. "I told you not to say anything! Why are you so annoying?"
"Plenty of people find me annoying. You’ll have to take a number and get in line."
Lu Tingting was about to die from anger.
’How could someone be so shameless!’
When Lu Cheng returned from evening training, he brought back a medium-sized bamboo basket lined with dry straw.
He placed the basket on the balcony, tossed Jiaojiao inside, and shut the balcony door.
Meeting Jiang Moli’s teasing gaze, he declared confidently, "It’s sleeping outside from now on."
The words had barely left his mouth when the balcony door was filled with the sound of frantic scratching, accompanied by the puppy’s angry "WOOF! WOOF!"
Jiang Moli said, "See? It’s not happy about that."
"Let it bark. It’ll stop when it gets tired."
Lu Cheng huffed, clearly still holding a grudge about their romantic moment being ruined the day before.
"If it keeps barking, how are we supposed to get any sleep?"
Just as she spoke, a few mournful wolf howls echoed from the distance.
Outside the balcony door, Jiaojiao’s barking and scratching grew more frantic, mixed with whimpering pleas.
Jiang Moli’s heart softened. "Forget it, just let it in. Or we could put it in Lu Tingting’s room."
Without hesitation, Lu Cheng chose the latter.
However, it was late at night, so it wasn’t appropriate for him to go to his niece’s room alone. He asked Jiang Moli to go with him.
Lu Tingting didn’t actually mind having the puppy in her room, but out of habit, she started bickering with Jiang Moli.
"Why should I take it? This isn’t a kennel!"
Jiang Moli placed the bamboo basket under the bed, where Jiaojiao liked it most, then looked up and grinned at Lu Tingting. "It is now. Alright, you two get some sleep. Don’t you bully Jiaojiao, hmm?"
Lu Tingting puffed out her cheeks, but she didn’t say anything about kicking the puppy out.
After the door closed, she turned to look at the puppy, which was wagging its tail and exploring everywhere, and her expression changed to one of excitement.
She had loved dogs since she was little, but Fan Wenfang disliked them and had absolutely refused to let her have one.
She happily scooped the puppy into her arms, petting it and nuzzling her face against its head.
’I love it so much!’
The puppy looked as if it had lost the will to live, wanting only to escape. ’I’ve been sullied.’
In the next room, Lu Cheng pressed his ear against the wall, holding his breath.
Amused, Jiang Moli gave him a light kick. "What are you doing?"
Lu Cheng looked at her, his face lit up with childlike glee. "The dog isn’t barking."
Jiang Moli was speechless.
Lu Cheng reached out and began to unbutton his shirt. "Let’s finish what we didn’t get to do last night..."
Jiang Moli raised a hand to stop him.
Just when Lu Cheng thought his hopes for the night were dashed, he saw Jiang Moli nimbly straddle his lap, her slender fingers toying with his buttons.
"I may not be very perceptive, but I’m very good at getting people out of their clothes."
Under the dim light, the woman’s slender brows and red lips exuded a fragrant allure, making her look just like a soul-snatching siren.
Lu Cheng’s gaze was utterly captivated. ’My wife is so bad... I love it!’
...
Fan Wenfang was so angry she didn’t sleep all night. In the morning, she went to her office fuming.
Fan Wenfang worked as a clerk in the Maternal and Child Health Care department of the Health Bureau.
Seeing how terrible she looked, her colleagues couldn’t help but ask a few concerned questions.
Although she had never liked her troublemaking sister-in-law, Jiang Moli, Fan Wenfang rarely spoke ill of her to outsiders.
After all, one shouldn’t air their dirty laundry in public.
But today, she just couldn’t contain her anger and ended up viciously venting about Jiang Moli in front of her colleagues.

「Today was the first day of school.」
After getting Jiaojiao settled, Lu Tingting left for school.
As she locked her door, she subconsciously glanced at the room next door. Seeing it tightly shut, she had a mischievous idea.
Once her door was locked, she walked over to Jiang Moli’s room. Just as she raised her hand to knock, the door swung open.
Staring at her raised hand, Jiang Moli said with a smirk, "Looks like you didn’t get enough of a beating yesterday, huh?"
Lu Tingting huffed, "I was going easy on you yesterday. Don’t think I can’t beat you."
Jiang Moli was noncommittal. "Hold on, I got you a present."
Lu Tingting was skeptical, but then she saw Jiang Moli emerge holding a bamboo stick as thick as a chopstick. She was so scared she immediately turned and fled.
Jiang Moli called after her, "What are you running for? I’m not going to hit you."
