Chapter 1653: Waiting in Silence

In the council hall, everyone was looking at me. They were all the council elders. All of them were Red Mark Warriors.

I didn’t know why I thought they were weak. If it had been earlier, I would have thought twice before facing the council elders, but not anymore.

I swept my gaze across them. Some of the elders avoided making eye contact. They didn’t want to look at me.

Elder Rowena recovered first. She, too, saw that Zack Lockwood was a Half-Step Red Mark Warrior.

She wouldn’t be surprised if Zack Lockwood became a Red Mark Warrior as soon as he entered the main post.

The Star University elders were watching Zack Lockwood as well. Because they had had no interaction earlier, they were quiet right now.

But they were also among the people who had sent resources to Zack Lockwood.

"Cough!"

Rowena let out a cough. Everyone then came back to their senses.

"Zack Lockwood, we are happy that you didn’t waste our resources," the old man from the Dark Shadow University said.

Hearing that, I thanked him. The others spoke one after another. The elders from the Star University congratulated me as well.

For both the breakthrough and the record set in the puppet hall. Finally, it was the turn of Elder Rowena.

"Zack Lockwood, I’m glad that you didn’t disappoint us. You terrorized the enemies on the battlefield here. We hope that you do the same in the main post," Rowena said.

"Elder Rowena, thank you for your support," I said to her. She was the one who had helped me out when I first entered here.

Rowena smiled and said, "We are planning to send you to the Main Post early. What do you think?"

The other elders were looking toward Zack Lockwood. The young man had given them a sense of crisis. They were no match for him at all.

His real place should be the main post.

"Tell them you want to go right now," the ancient spirit said to me.

I smiled and said, "I’m ready to leave anytime."

Hearing that, the elders heaved a sigh of relief. They were worried that the young man might say something else.

"If we get the notification, we will tell you," Rowena said.

Then I got permission to leave. I nodded to her and the others before leaving the room. I came outside and saw Senior Marie.

"Well, the meeting is over. I’m going back," I said to her.

Marie nodded her head and said, "I’ll wait for Elder Rowena. I’ll see you later."

Hearing that, I bid goodbye to her. Next, I took the elevator to reach the ground floor. After coming out onto the street, I heaved a sigh of relief.

I had thought that the meeting would be intense. But it was not like that. They were all happy because I broke through and didn’t waste their resources.

They were even happier knowing that I was ready to move out.

"I’m sure they will send you to the main post as soon as possible," the ancient spirit said.

"Can I fight against the Quasi-God?" I asked.

"It’s still too early," the ancient spirit replied.

It didn’t explain further.

I thought the ancient spirit was hiding something again, but then again, I would know eventually after getting inside the main post.

Then I stopped a cab and hopped inside. From there, I went back to my residence. After reaching the residence, I did nothing but rest.

I had been practicing non-stop and heavily. So I decided to take a break. I was going to rest for the remaining days as well.

Days passed.

The news of Zack Lockwood’s breakthrough shocked United City. But the commotion died down soon. The city returned to normal after that. ℯ

Everyone forgot about Zack Lockwood’s record. Only a few people like Marcus, Reece, Julia, and a few others remembered him and talked about him from time to time.

The news of Zack Lockwood’s breakthrough to reach Half-Step Red Mark Warrior was no secret here in United City. So the news reached the ears of the Main Post Warriors as well.

The healers from the main post who had come to help here had returned to the main post. They brought the news to the main post.

The Red Mark Warriors there dismissed it as rumors. But the healers were sure. The council elders and administration office confirmed the news.

The media houses in the Sub-Post broadcast it as well.

Only after hearing all about it did the Red Mark Warriors in the main post get serious. Because they were all future Quasi-God Powerhouses. And they were intrigued by the young man.

Obviously, there were people who welcomed the news. Among them were people from the Star University and Red Moon University.

The Red Mark Warriors from the Silver and Eclipse Universities were kind of neutral here. At their level, their only enemies were the invading foreign creatures.

They were going to be future Quasi-God Powerhouses. Obviously, they were being careful not to develop internal conflict.

But the warriors of the Giant Tower University and the Dark Shadow University clearly felt overshadowed by someone from the Star University.

The Red Mark Warriors from the Star University were there as well. But they were all a couple of years older. Some of them were from the families of the main elders and elders of the universities.

They wanted to see the strength of the young man as well.
