Chapter 1717: Part 2: Fighting Alone

Main Battlefield

I waited with my staff for the foreign creatures to arrive.

But so far, nothing has appeared. My uneasy feeling increased.

Meanwhile, the ancient spirit watched the surroundings as well.

It expected this to be the most difficult battle for Zack Lockwood to date.

Boom!

It didn’t take long for a sound to echo. I raised my eyebrows and continued looking ahead.

Oval-shaped creatures appeared in the distance. It wasn’t just a single creature, but a row of foreign creatures.

As I took in their appearance, my eyes turned cold. I gripped the center of my staff tightly.

The ancient spirit saw the foreign creatures as well. It was shaken to the core.

"I didn’t expect them to release this many Jelloths onto the battlefield," the ancient spirit said.

"Kid, what are you going to do?" it asked.

"I’m going to reserve as much inheritance force as possible," I replied.

"Don’t use the power of the sealing force. It will be useful in emergency situations," the ancient spirit advised.

"Okay," I replied.

My gaze swept across the foreign creatures. They spotted me as well.

Upon seeing me, they made a weird sound and started charging.

Seeing that, I began to channel my blood energy force. In the blink of an eye, the white bone staff was covered in a crimson border.

Boom!

The massive frame of a creature over three meters tall appeared before me. It was the first one to reach me.

Suddenly, it shot a tentacle at me. The tentacle was covered in dark origin power.

Swoosh!

Instead of meeting the attack with the white bone staff, I evaded it and moved to its flank.

It happened so fast. Both the foreign creature and I were at the Red Mark Rank, but I was able to evade the attack.

Boom!

I swung the staff at the Jelloth. The side of the staff met the body of the foreign creature.

Upon contact, a detonation occurred. The impact force sent both of us backward.

Swoosh!

The Jelloth’s body was covered in dark origin power as it moved backward.

But its injury healed as well. It was the self-recovering ability of a top-ranked elite creature.

Seeing that, my expression darkened. I didn’t know how I was going to fight this many creatures.

Boom!

Right then, I received an attack from the right side. Another creature shot a tentacle at me, and this one moved faster.

Swoosh!

I evaded the attack and moved toward the creature’s flank to strike its body.

Time went by.

My attacks on the foreign creatures’ bodies continued to increase. I didn’t meet their attacks head-on.

It would unnecessarily waste my inheritance force. Instead, I wanted to use less inheritance force’s power against the creatures’ bodies.

I didn’t use the blood again. I wanted to use brute force to continue inflicting injuries.

It didn’t take long for me to use my staff technique to deal with the creature.

Smash!

Whenever I managed to leave an injury on a creature’s body, it used the power of its dark origin to recover.

As time went by, the other foreign Jelloth creatures used the opportunity to surround me.

However, I used my movement method to slip away from them.

Swoosh!

Since I was their only enemy, these creatures would follow me wherever I went.

Boom!

Each staff attack on the foreign creatures forced them to consume more dark origin power.

Swoosh!

I moved away from the area. The Jelloth creatures were stunned; they didn’t expect a human warrior to flee.

They began chasing me down.

While fleeing, I began to think. I had tried to use only brute force, but that wasn’t going to help me in the long term.

I had to use my inheritance powers to reduce their numbers. While running, I wracked my brain to come up with a plan.

I decided to use my inheritance power to make them consume more dark origin power.

The next second, I covered the white bone staff in dark lightning power. In the blink of an eye, the coating of lightning power gained a crimson border.

Boom!

Then, I turned around and struck horizontally.

In a flash, the end of the staff met the creature’s body head-on.

Boom!

A huge detonation occurred. The lightning power enveloped the creature’s entire body like a spiderweb.

The power of the lightning was destroying the Jelloth’s body. It was also paralyzing the creature.

Boom!

Right then, the other Jelloth creatures closed in on me. I used the staff to strike down their bodies.

Boom!

One after another, the Jelloth creatures’ bodies were covered in the power of lightning. The lightning pinned them in place.

After landing one strike against a Jelloth, I moved on to the next creature. I had an idea in mind to force them to use their dark origin power.

In order to recover from the lightning attacks, the Jelloths needed to expend more dark origin power.

As time went by, the Jelloth creatures began to consume more dark origin power. Realizing their situation, they used their arm-like tentacles to strike at me.

Swoosh!

But I had already decided not to face their attacks head-on. I used the lightning power to deal with the remaining creatures.

So far, my attacks had struck the bodies of at least fifty Jelloth creatures, but I discovered that a hundred creatures had entered the battlefield.

"They have decided to kill you on this main battlefield. The foreign creatures must have decided not to let you enter the ranks of the Quasi-Gods," the ancient spirit said.

"They are going to be disappointed," I replied.

Boom!

I forcibly thrust the white bone staff into the body of a foreign creature.

In a flash, the bottom end of the staff came into contact with Jelloth’s body.

Boom!

A detonation occurred. The lightning power sent the creature flying backward.

The creature’s entire body was covered in lightning.

The creature went rocketing backward before crashing into the ground.

Thud!

The collapse was heavy. The impact force spread outward, causing dust and smoke to rise.

The creature was totally paralyzed. Black smoke rose from its body.
