Ancient Woman Transmigrates to the Body of a Modern Man
Chapter 99: Spring flowers of the capital 2
This kind of innocent and gentle temperament, with clear eyes without any impurities, how could he be a bad person?
Although Lin Feng was unaware of what others were thinking, he possessed enough social skills to know the best way to present oneself in the society.
No one would strike a smiling face.
This was Lin Feng’s philosophy.
A person who was always smiling and optimistic would never lack friends or goodwill.
Even if there were people who felt jealous, there would be far more who were willing to speak up for someone so cheerful and optimistic.
Thinking of this, Lin Feng’s steps grew even lighter.
The wind swept through the cherry blossom trees, sending a flurry of alluring pink petals swirling through the air.
He breathed in the cool and fresh spring air, filled with the fragrance of flowers.
It was just like that day when Madam Lin had first seen her beloved husband.
It was a beautiful spring day.
The Bai family’s delicate beauty trio were thoroughly enjoying themselves among the flowers.
Bai Jianning felt as though she were about to become a flower fairy herself, having absorbed the graceful spirit and fragrant essence of the flower blossoms.
Even her mother, Wei Ranmiao, looked especially gentle and serene after taking in the scenery, not like her usual nagging self.
Still, her Third Brother Lin Feng was in a league of his own.
He was like a flower fairy wandering among his fellow flowers!
Bai Jianning had lost count of how many people turned to look back at their group as they passed by.
She felt both honored and proud.
At the same time, Bai Jianning couldn’t help touching her own face.
She was considered a beauty, too, having inherited the best features of her exceptionally handsome, mixed-heritage father and her beautiful mother.
She was also someone people would turn to look at.
"But how come no one seems to be looking at me today?" the little girl lamented silently to her mother.
Wei Ranmiao was amused but said nothing.
Her daughter Bai Jianning was still too young to understand that there was another kind of beauty, one that went beyond mere physical appearance.
It came from the boy’s unique temperament. He was like a breath of fresh air in a sweltering crowd, as though he didn’t belong to this world and had merely wandered into it by accident.
This was completely different from his former temperament, when he had seemed cold and aloof outside, but actually weak and vulnerable inside.
"Third Brother, you bought so many flowers, and they’re even in pots. Are you planning to grow them?" Bai Jianning asked, looking at the rows of flowerpots arranged on small shelves at the back of the car.
Since Lin Feng had bought so many, the shop owners had even given him the shelves so he could fit more flowers into the car and take them with him.
"Mm. There are still more to be delivered later."
Lin Feng gently touched the flower petals.
The vast Chaoyang Garden had more flowers than just tulips and cherry blossoms. There were also flowering plants in various colors and varieties, including hydrangeas, purple wisteria, peonies, forsythia, and crabapple blossoms.
The space inside the car was limited, so Lin Feng had only brought the smaller potted plants with him. The larger ones would be delivered directly to the villa.
The Bai family’s estate had a spacious garden that was well-trimmed and carefully maintained by the gardeners. Although it was not as large as the courtyard garden in Beigou Village, it was still considered spacious and vibrant compared to the gardens of other wealthy families in the capital.
This was because Mother Lin had loved flowers very much when she was still alive.
The car soon arrived home, and the flowerpots were taken to the smaller garden at the back of the villa.
The front garden was opulent, lined with neatly trimmed bushes and trees in a style reminiscent of European aristocratic gardens. It was the elegant facade that the wealthy Bai family presented to their guests during social banquets held at the ancestral home.
The garden at the back, however, had a completely different scenery.
Although it was smaller, it was the garden that Lin Feng loved the most. Designed in a pastoral style, it was filled with flowers and plants of various kinds, growing together without any rigid rules and arrangement.
A flower-covered trellis led to a small pavilion. Beside it stood a purple wisteria tree, the cascading purple blossoms forming a beautiful curtain of purple around the pavilion. A pergola extended from the trellis, connecting the two structures.
Walking beneath the trellis and pergola, one would find colorful flowers hanging along either side, while overhead, clusters of purple wisteria blossoms formed a canopy.
Small flowering shrubs grew in clusters, their flower blossoms displaying a wide variety of colors, like a lovely bouquet of assorted flowers. Even round clusters of baby’s breath were scattered throughout the garden.
Around the walls enclosing the garden, there were cherry blossom trees on one side and crabapple trees on the other, filling the garden with white and pink shades.
This was the dream garden of women of all ages. Even though Lin Feng now had the body of a man, his aesthetic preferences still leaned towards this idyllic, pastoral style.
Hearing her Third Brother praise the garden with such enthusiasm, using one flowery metaphor after another, Bai Jianning wore a complicated expression.
"Third Brother, you might not believe it, but the garden usually isn’t nearly as pretty as this. I don’t know what happened this year. The flowers bloomed early, and they all bloomed so beautifully. I almost could not believe my eyes when everything just started blooming last week."
Lin Feng’s eyes lit up. "Maybe it’s because the flowers like my hands. I have a very effective green thumb. I’ve always been good at growing plants. Not a single plant has ever died in my care."
