Chapter 1140: Killing the Lizard

"Christina, Erwin, distract it. We will kill the lizard."

Christina immediately activated her Provoke, making sure the lizard was locked onto her. The lizard was resisting the Provoke, but its movement was restricted to a little bit.

Then, Erwin extended his wires, trying to stop the lizard’s movement completely.

"Jay, are you insane?" Ragna complained as he barely avoided the landslide.

"My apologies." Jay muttered.

Clovis took a deep breath, looking at the falling lizard. He took a step forward and swung his sword.

"Beast Manifestation Technique."

The killing intent soared as a tiger’s roar, similar to what Mara unleashed, shook the area. The sword strike flew toward the lizard, whose body was already in tatters after escaping Jay’s strike.

It tried to avoid this attack, but there was a reason Clovis, who possessed the strongest firepower, attacked last. The lizard had moved so much that it couldn’t properly receive Clovis’s attack. In addition, its energy had been depleted.

Without practically almost no defense, Clovis sent forth his sword strike.

The lizard was doing everything it could, such as putting its feet in front of its body, but it could do nothing.

The lizard’s scales withstood the sword strike a bit, but the sword strike ended up cutting the remaining foot and hitting its body.

The lizard was too exhausted, and the berserk wasn’t enough.

Clovis thought for a moment and said, "Angelia, Jay, Christina. You three will hunt down the beasts for now. It’ll take too much time to wait for them, so just do your best. Erwin, Aileen. Gather the essence for any beasts above Tier 7. It shouldn’t be much."

They nodded upon his order.

He then asked, "Melody, broadcast my message to everyone."

"Okay. You can tell them now."

Clovis then said, "Attention to all members. Keep fighting, but maintain a bit of your attention to my words. There aren’t many beasts left, so it’s fine to slow down. I don’t intend to kill all these beasts because it will take too much time... the time we no longer have.

"First, we will have to go to the sixth tower now. Since the Prophet already knows about Mara’s existence, we have to speed up our progress. Hence, we will abandon everything here and focus only on the fifth and sixth towers.
