Chapter 1154: Synchronization Rate

Clovis gradually opened his eyes.

"Mhmm?" He let out a small groan, feeling a bit of a headache. It felt like he had done something in his sleep.

Clovis looked left and right, wondering if he was truly back. On his right, he could see Kanaria peacefully sleeping on his arm. Kanaria looked exactly as he remembered.

On his left, Christina was hugging his arm. His arms were quite numb, but it wasn’t something he couldn’t endure.

He looked at the ceiling and confirmed that he had returned. In other words, he was able to see something in his dream.

The problem was that this dream was too realistic. He wondered if this dream was just his imagination about the outside world.

However, his doubt cleared soon because a red screen flashed before his eyes.

[Error.]

[Synchronization Rate 8&%$]

"..." Clovis had a lot of thoughts in his mind. First of all, this reminded him of the voices he heard back then.

At that time, he experienced a lot of pain just to hear their voices.

However, this dream only gave him a headache. He considered the possibility that his body had grown stronger to withstand something like that, but after seeing the Synchronization Rate, he figured out what was going on.

He didn’t experience pain because he was weak. He experienced pain because his synchronization rate was too low.

’I see. In the past, my synchronization rate was quite low. That’s why I’m unable to even see anything. I can only hear their voices.

’Now that the synchronization rate has increased, I can see it in my dream now. Well, I haven’t even seen this kind of thing before, so that’s just my assumption.

’However, if I just disregard that weird thing and think that the dream is actually me in the real world...’

Clovis suddenly fell silent. He already had the feeling that the real world wasn’t a utopia like everyone thought of.

It was clear from the voices he used to hear that he, in the real world, faced a massive problem.

Clovis closed his eyes for a moment. ’I guess I should consult with everyone tomorrow.’

He wondered if returning to the real world was the correct choice. At the same time, he knew that not returning meant everything would collapse.

Something did happen in the real world. That was why a single country collapsed, engulfed by absolute darkness.

So, he needed to return to the real world if he didn’t want this world to collapse entirely. His people were waiting for him outside.

In the end, he had no choice but to return to the real world. The only problem would be the synchronization rate. Would he become someone else entirely if the synchronization reached 100%?

However, the red screen confirmed the fact that this was unintentional. So, Melody or anyone who was monitoring his condition in the real world didn’t intend to show that vision to him.

What if his synchronization rate continued to increase? Would he see even more things about the real world? Would all the memories of Clovis Hacfield from the real world flow into him?

Clovis never felt an existential crisis. For him, whether it was the real-world Clovis or this world’s Clovis, both of them were Clovis.

In other words, he just became himself. He just didn’t know how to act toward the others. After all, many of them didn’t show any systems, so that meant they were completely made of data from their original bodies.

In that case, what would happen if all of this were over? He believed that only he would be able to leave this world. Well, there was a chance that Luci, Melody, and Mara would have the opportunity to leave as well.

Still, what he was worried about was how the others would react. How would those three react when they merged with their real bodies?

In that case, was the Prophet someone from the real world as well? Who was he?

There were a lot of questions in his mind. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem he could dig any further.

Hopefully, he would be able to get more dreams like this to figure out the situation in the real world.

In the end, he just returned to his sleep while recalling the dream again and again so as to etch it into his memory.

...

The next day.

Auric decided to gather everyone in the living room. Of course, he invited Hana and Vina as well, but Hana could only join through the video call while Vina was too busy slowing the enemy down.

He had asked his grandmother to stop the two strongest people in the world, so it was understandable that she would be so busy that she wouldn’t have time for anything else.

That was why Clovis was glad that Hana at least attended.

"What is this all about?" Melody asked.

"I’m going to talk about my dream last night. I don’t know if this is a dream or a vision, but it’s too real. I simply can’t ignore this dream, not to mention the fact that there is a system screen flashing after that."

"So, this is most likely a vision. What did it say?" Melody turned solemn.

"Error. Synchronization rate 8 something. The rest is just gibberish, so I’m thinking about a number and a percentage symbol."

"That’s most likely. If we’re looking at the current stage, we can’t determine whether it’s 8% or 80-ish%. After all, this is the first time the synchronization rate has appeared." Melody nodded.

"Indeed." Clovis nodded in agreement.

"So, what about the dream? What kind of thing did you see?"

Clovis sighed. "I want to tell you about this dream because I want to see your analysis of it. The real world... I’m not sure... it’s not as kind as we originally thought. By the way, can someone draw?"

"I can at least create a model for you if you want."

"That’s great. Let’s try to make a model out of it."
