Seeing Moira Lynch grab so many, some people who had been too slow to get any for themselves wanted to approach her and ask if she could spare a few.

Naturally, Moira Lynch flatly refused.

While some were disappointed by her refusal and didn’t press the issue, others glared at Moira Lynch with malice.

This was especially true when the second batch of earplugs was released. The price had shot up tenfold, from twenty to two hundred, making them look upon Moira Lynch with even greater disdain.

In their eyes, if Moira Lynch hadn’t taken so many at once, they might have gotten a pair and wouldn’t have had to waste all that extra money.

Just then, a passive-aggressive voice piped up. "Young ladies these days have no respect for their elders. Buying so many earplugs at once—can you even wear them all?"

Moira Lynch simply pretended she hadn’t heard a thing. After all, no one had called her out by name.

As long as they weren’t pointing a finger at her, she would assume they weren’t talking about her.

And so, under the resentful and furious gazes of the crowd, Moira Lynch went to the counter and paid.

Remembering what she had to do that night, Moira Lynch went to the mall’s clothing department and bought a black all-weather jacket and a black baseball cap. She already had a black face mask, so she didn’t need to buy one.

After buying these items, Moira Lynch began to wander the city—or more accurately, she was casing locations in preparation for the night’s activities.

When night finally fell, Moira Lynch returned to her rented apartment and changed into the gear she had prepared. She then took some items out of her storage space to free up room in her Space Button, slung a backpack over her shoulders, and set out.

She arrived at the location she had cased during the day. It was none other than the very same mall she had been Teleported to earlier.

Her reasoning was simple: security here was the most lax. The company was probably so large and powerful that they believed no one would ever dare to move against them.

’The confidence of the powerful, I suppose.’

Of course, Moira Lynch had another reason for choosing this place: another group had also set its sights on this location and was planning to make a move tonight.

Upon learning this, Moira Lynch decided to take advantage of the chaos.

By the time Moira Lynch arrived, the others were already there.

Seeing that they were all wearing noise-canceling headphones, Moira Lynch knew they were all sufferers of "noise syndrome."

Just then, one of them suddenly ripped the headphones from his head and hurled them in Moira Lynch’s direction.

They landed very close to her, shattering with a loud SMASH.

Seeing this, Moira Lynch thought her position had been exposed. She was about to hypnotize them all when she realized it was just a false alarm.

He had just thrown them carelessly; it was pure coincidence that she happened to be there.

After tossing the headphones, the man rubbed his ears vigorously, his face etched with irritation in the dim light.

"Do you have any more noise-canceling headphones?" he asked his companion.

The companion shook his head. "No, these are the last ones I have. Can you just bear with it for a bit longer? Once we get inside the warehouse, there’ll be new ones."

"I can’t take it anymore! I feel like my head is about to explode."

At that moment, another person chimed in, "My noise-cancelers are about to give out, too. We’ve been burning through these headphones really fast lately."

"Yeah, I’ve noticed that, too. A normal pair used to last for half a year, easy. Now they barely last a few days."

They had been suffering from noise syndrome for a while. The first few days, the symptoms were mild and bearable. But as time passed, it began to feel like countless people were throwing a party inside their heads 24/7.

All this time, the only thing that had helped them endure was noise-canceling headphones.

Now, the price of the headphones had suddenly skyrocketed. It wasn’t just a matter of affording them—they were impossible to find. Out of desperation, they had been forced to resort to this.

Just then, someone pulled a pair of earplugs from his pocket and handed them over. "Here, make do with these for now."

Hidden in the shadows, Moira Lynch heard every word of their conversation.

’Noise-canceling headphones only last a few days before they stop working? Seriously?’

She had originally planned to grab only a few pairs, just in case. After all, as long as headphones don’t malfunction, they should last indefinitely.

But after hearing their conversation, Moira Lynch changed her mind.

She remained hidden in the darkness, concealing her presence. Releasing her spiritual power, she took in the entire layout of the mall, including, of course, the location of the warehouse.

When the warehouse guards began to change shifts, the group finally made its move.

To buy the group more time, Moira Lynch directly hypnotized the security guard who was coming to take over the shift.

As she watched the initial panic in the guard’s eyes fade into a vacant stare, Moira Lynch knew the hypnosis had been successful.

"Take me to the warehouse where you keep your best headphones," Moira Lynch commanded.

Hearing her command, the guard nodded dazedly and began to lead her toward one of the warehouses.

Moira Lynch had already used her spiritual power to disable all the surveillance cameras along the way, so she had no fear of being recorded.

A few minutes later, Moira Lynch entered the warehouse. It was filled with the same brand-new model of noise-canceling headphones she had seen earlier.

The name Ryan Hayes was written on the packaging, along with the words "All-New Second Generation Upgrade."

’Looks like these are the best headphones they have.’

Seeing this, Moira Lynch didn’t hesitate. The hypnosis wouldn’t last forever. Without a word, she began stuffing headphones into her Space Button.

She only stopped when her storage space was completely full. Then, she filled her backpack with several more pairs of headphones.

Looking at the backpack, which was full after only five boxes and couldn’t fit any more, Moira Lynch shook her head in regret. ’I should have bought a bigger one.’

Estimating that the hypnosis was about to wear off, Moira Lynch slung the backpack on, grabbed two more pairs of headphones, and ran for the exit.

Soon, her figure vanished into the darkness.

As for the guard Moira Lynch had hypnotized, the moment the spell wore off, he jolted awake and glanced around in a daze.

’Where is this? Why am I here? And... what was I just doing?’

After thinking for a good while, he finally remembered he was supposed to be changing shifts. He was already ten minutes late.

’Oh well, late is late. It’s not like anything could have happened.’

With that thought, the guard quickly put the strange lapse out of his mind and ambled unhurriedly toward his post.
