Just before he was set to attack the estate, Terrence had received an urgent message from Stan Visor.

Looking at the text blinking on his digital watch screen, he couldn’t help but grit his teeth in frustration.

’I still have to hunt Klein down, but now things have come to this...’

[Terrence, the Lee Family has placed a massive bounty on your head. Other city administrators are also actively hunting you because of your dragon beast. You have to finish this conflict right now.]

He had received such frantic advice from someone who was currently hiding from the Lee Family himself—what an amusing turn of events.

[Focus on the mission I gave you instead. Create the Beast Index database using the gadget I sent you,] Terrence typed back coldly.

Then, he closed his digital watch interface and stared forward into the dark, his face clouded with worry.

’Fuck those city administrators. As if they will just mindlessly try to hunt me down solely because of Avery. But sure, they will definitely be wary of my presence. Still, I don’t need to worry about them right now; my immediate problem is the Lee Family.’

He let out a long sigh, but his heart was racing like crazy inside his chest. He had never acted this recklessly before, and it felt as though the heavy consequences of his recent actions were finally sinking in.

He had just killed Irad, and although he felt a sense of relief, he wasn’t completely satisfied because he hadn’t actually planned that confrontation out in advance.

’Fuck! What did I tell myself before? That I shouldn’t be too fixated on strict plans!’ He clenched his trembling right hand into a fist and slammed it hard against the stone wall he was leaning on inside a dark alleyway. ’But then again, having a clear plan makes things so much easier... I have to do something right now to set things straight.’

With a heavy heart pressing down on his chest, his gaze shifted toward something sharp on his weapon belt, his resolve wavering for a brief second.

’I have to do it now. There’s no turning back.’

Terrence had actually been planning to launch an attack on the Lee Estate ever since he acquired Avery, knowing the dragon was an SS-Rank Beast. However, he hadn’t wanted to be reckless at that time without proper preparation.

But this time, he had a massive, urgent reason to rush things. Besides, it didn’t seem like such a suicidal move anymore, considering he now commanded two SS-Rank Beasts at his side.

Although he hated the idea of becoming arrogant or complacent, being overly cautious was definitely wasting his precious time.

And so, with a sudden shift in his mindset, he completely threw away the remainder of his old strategy. He scrapped his careful plans as if they didn’t matter at all in the first place.

...

Back in the present moment, Terrence had successfully eliminated every single personal guard that Sara had brought into the courtyard. By letting his beasts handle the massacre without dirtying his own hands in direct melee, he had safely given his body enough time to recover from overusing Skill Share.

"Monster! Monster!"

Sara’s voice trembled frantically, pure terror painted ugly across her pale face. She clawed at the ground, desperately dragging herself backward away from Terrence. Her knees were shaking so violently that she couldn’t even use her legs to stand up properly.

"How could such a monster exist?! You are not normal!"

Terrence scoffed softly, stepping through the bloody pool on the stone floor.

"When I was weak, everyone said I wasn’t a real Lee. But now that I have become extremely strong, you call me a monster and tell me I’m not normal. How funny."

He slowly raised his right hand into the air. Sara’s wide, bloodshot eyes followed the simple movement in sheer dread.

"No! Please, no!"

Terrence snapped his hand downward, and Noir followed the silent execution command smoothly. In a fraction of a second, a razor-sharp slash of dark particles tore through the air and cut clean across her neck.

Fresh blood sprayed across the pavement as the last defender in the courtyard collapsed. Every single guard he had faced since breaching the outer gate was now dead.

Terrence looked around the quiet court, his dark eyes hollow and completely devoid of emotion. He swallowed hard, trying to process the overwhelming display of gore surrounding him.

It was his very first time executing such violent revenge, and it certainly wasn’t pretty. He didn’t enjoy the idea of killing guard staff who merely served the Lee Family for a living, but in his mind, they were ultimately at fault for serving the wrong masters.

Without looking back at the corpses, he turned and continued his firm stride toward the main estate building.

An eerie silence hung in the air as he passed under tall columns of pristine white marble, pushing open a massive pair of heavy twin doors.

The grand entryway was completely deserted, as if all the household servants and staff had already evacuated the premises.

"Good. Less unnecessary killing," Terrence muttered under his breath.

"You look really fearless, don’t you?" a sharp voice called out from the far end of the central hall.

This main building was where the core members of the family resided. The ground floor was designed as a massive ceremonial hall used for formal gatherings and grand celebrations, while the upper floors contained private living chambers.

Terrence tracked the sound, scanning the dimly lit space to pinpoint the speaker.

He paused as his eyes landed on a familiar figure standing at the end of the walkway.

"Nerissa Lee..."

"Oh? You actually know me?"

Nerissa stepped out from the deep shadows, her entire body encased in sleek, high-grade tactical gear and expensive armaments forged from rare metals. Clean and refined, she had clearly come fully prepared with top-tier defensive armor.

"Of course," Terrence said, his voice steady as he observed her charismatic appearance and striking green eyes. "I know every single genius in this family. I made sure to prepare myself thoroughly so I could face each of you in combat eventually."

Nerissa’s lips twitched upward into a mocking smirk.

"Wow... you are really good at boasting. Even back when you were still unawakened and powerless, everyone knew you as a weak but boastful person."

"I’m glad you remember me," Terrence replied smoothly, his gaze locked onto her frame. "That way, you won’t be too surprised by what I can do."

"Well, I guess I’ll just have to wipe that arrogant expression off your face," Nerissa said, her tone dropping dangerously low.

BOOM!

In a fraction of a second, she exploded forward from her standing position. She covered the ten-meter gap instantly, reappearing directly in front of Terrence’s face.

With his eyes wide and fully focused, Terrence immediately activated Skill Share and cast Iron Skin, bracing his body to absorb the incoming strike.
