Chapter 1344: Chapter 1029: Storm (Part 2)
"Just hope everything goes smoothly."
Huai Shi patted the Sun Boat, which had just advanced but was already in tatters, and sighed helplessly. Raymond, who was working overtime on repairs nearby, wished he could smack this bastard with a wrench.
Shut your Raven mouth!
Unfortunately, it was too late.
Just as Huai Shi’s words fell, an eerie sound began to echo faintly in the dead silent Abyss.
It was like the beating of a drum.
Thunderclap White Plains pulsed like a heart, its own fissures rapidly widening, transmitting this curse-like drumbeat to the depths of the Abyss.
"What is that?" Raymond was stunned.
"I don’t know." Huai Shi frowned, urging, "But we need to hurry, find a place to dock quickly."
He said, "I have a bad feeling."
The sense of death was awakened!
It followed him like a shadow, blowing coldly against his neck, malevolently sneering.
Even for such an insubstantial reason as intuition, everyone’s expressions turned grave. Those present had experienced more than once how precisely Huai Shi’s intuition could predict danger.
Accurate to the point of being unreasonable.
Anything that could possibly cause death would trigger his reaction, meaning that the drumbeats... were coming for them!
The Golden Ship accelerated, venturing into deeper depths. After crossing two depths, it hurriedly approached a Hell shrouded in vast clouds of dust.
But before that, what they saw was a massive shadow rapidly rising from the depths of the Abyss.
Like a cloud emitting a faint glow.
Dozens of massive contours were writhing slowly within it, spewing ink rich with deep sediment. They traversed the void of the Abyss like Giant Beasts floating through space.
Countless tentacles extended from that eerie cloud.
Awakened by the call of the drum, the Predators slumbering in Hell stirred the depth tides, severing even neon connections to Hell as they passed, scattering countless swarms into the Abyss’s void, soon to be ensnared by tentacles into the gray cloud. The bizarre creatures, akin to deep-sea entities, opened their orifices, ravenously devouring anything consumable.
In the end, countless eyes turned to where the Sun Boat was.
Those were innumerable shadows roaming in the Abyss, gathered together, Depth Hunters capable of devouring an entire Hell.
The greatest threat to any Depth Diving!
"Does it have to be this accurate?"
Raymond gritted his teeth, frantically steering the helm, the winding Styx rapidly rerouting, evading their gaze.
But in this vast, empty Abyss, they had nowhere to run.
The nearest destination was still one depth away...
"Just keep sailing, I’ll think of something."
Huai Shi pulled out Beelzebub, silently counting bullets, but the number of monsters in those dark clouds was simply overwhelming.
An entire horde of bizarre Giant Beasts had already set their sights on them.
In this void of an Abyss, nonetheless.
If it comes down to it, we’ll just have to risk it all again...
As they braced themselves, Huai Shi’s ears suddenly throbbed with sharp pain.
Not just him, at this moment, the entire Sun Boat, and even the shadowy cloud not far away, were inundated by a sudden high-pitched sound.
The eerie cacophony mixed with countless insufferable shrill tones, pierced through the vacuum barrier of the Abyss, into their eardrums, reverberating along the nerves into their Souls.
Causing them to black out.
The sound was indescribable, yet the Grudge and hunger coursing through it were chilling.
Under the oppressive noise, the Styx rippled, nearly showing signs of dissipating.
It was the depth.
The depth was undergoing violent transformation!
Raymond had completely lost control of his helm!
Suddenly, in the depth tides, a chaotic current emerged, causing even the Hells that were steadily rising to waver like soap bubbles.
Terrifying waves surged without warning.
Like towering waves on the Sea. The Golden Ship, like a withered leaf, was swept by the undertow, losing control of its trajectory.
Not just them.
Even the group of Depth Wanderers that had been relentless in pursuit, and even their sediment cloud, began to tremble violently!
Because, behind them, even larger shadows slowly emerged!
Impossible to discern its outline.
For everything was enveloped in darkness so thick nothing could be seen, even more dark and menacing than the Abyss.
As if some enormous entity was attracted by prey.
Rapidly surfacing!
In an instant, countless depths seemed to be traversed by that darkness, a sinister shadow looming close, an intangible mouth opening wide.
Devouring whole!
Everything vanished into that deathly silent blackness.
Whether it was those Depth Creatures drawn by the Drum of Sinister, or the shadowy dark cloud where they resided, in that moment, all disappeared without a trace.
And the tiny Golden Ship, like debris slipping through the gaps of its teeth, narrowly evaded the horrific consumption.
Only by a slim margin!
In the darkness, it felt as if a cold gaze glanced down for a moment, freezing everyone in place with horror, but soon, the gaze withdrew without interest.
As if the prey was too insignificant.
And too bland.
The darkness receded back into the Abyss.
"What was that, exactly?"
On the undulating Golden Ship, Huai Shi remained frozen, drenched in sweat.
"Who the hell knows!"
Raymond cried out desperately, shouting over the radar alarm, "Everyone get inside the cabin, a storm is coming!!!!"
Only now did the undertow stirred up by that massive entity slowly engulf everything.
Every Hell within several depths was enveloped in violent change, shrouded by debris and fractured Hell suspended in the Abyss, teetering.
Everything plunged into this sudden devastation.
The storm consumed everything.
As the world spun, the Golden Ship, like a paper boat, uncontrollably got swept into it, flying deeper into the Abyss.
"Huai Shi!!!"
Just before total loss of control, Raymond turned back, hoarsely shouting, "I have something to tell you."
"What is it?"
At the cabin door, Huai Shi clung tightly to the rope, turning back.
In this final moment, Raymond clutched the helm, took a deep breath, eyes wide—some words, if not spoken now, might never have the chance.
Thus, with all his might, he issued one last plea:
"—For God’s sake, put some clothes on!!!"
