Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2147: Surrounding super level nine

Ye Zhongming ignored his subordinates' astonishment and began laying out the plan for what everyone would do next.

The Wanpeng Sand Bat was a rare type of great monster. Though not every part of it was a treasure, its value was no less than that of the Double-Tailed Gouwo from the previous hunt—in fact, it was considerably higher.

This great monster's body was not very tall, only about 1.5 meters, but it was extremely wide. An adult could be the size of four standard football fields.

Thus, it resembled a black carpet.

The reason this lifeform was called a super lifeform was not that its combat power reached world-shattering levels—if that were the case, Ye Zhongming would not have dared to provoke it. Rather, it was because it was very difficult to kill and its evolutionary process was unique.

This creature mainly fought in three ways. First, it used its massive, well-defended body to cover its target, absorbing the target's life force through the countless large suckers underneath it. With such a huge body—and no one knew how heavy it was—being pinned under it made escape nearly impossible.

The second method involved the tentacles on its back. These tentacles were usually useless, less functional than the remaining suckers, which could absorb the planet's primal energy. But the tentacles were primarily used in combat.

The parts of the tentacles connecting to the body, all the way to their tips, were very soft. Only the very tips were sharp and hard.

The third method involved the twelve heads of the Wanpeng Sand Bat. Each head could spray a transparent liquid. Any lifeform touched by it would lose strength quickly, becoming as weak as mud. Then, whether the Sand Bat used its tentacles or its suckers to finish the job, it was easy.

However, this transparent liquid was very precious, and the creature rarely used it unless absolutely necessary.

Killing it was truly difficult because it had no obvious weak points. With its massive body, twelve heads, and twelve hearts, to kill it completely, all of them had to be destroyed. Moreover, despite its size, it had thick, tough skin. Losing a large chunk of flesh was no big deal to it.

Facing such a lifeform—extremely difficult to kill, with area-of-effect attacks—with only three thousand men, many felt it was a bit overconfident.

However, Ye Zhongming had led them to excellent results before, so no one voiced objections. Instead, they listened intently to his instructions.

Sometimes, turning the impossible into reality became a driving force worth striving for.

"Alright, that's it. Everyone understand?"

After finishing, Ye Zhongming addressed the surrounding warriors.

They all replied that they understood. After listening, they had gone from lacking confidence to being full of confidence.

"We will not only win—we will win without any casualties!"

Ye Zhongming swept his gaze around and said, "Let's begin."

With his words, four Star-Eye Clan warriors rushed down from the sand dune. Each carried a machine. They moved quickly across the sand, constantly checking their devices. After running less than a kilometer, one of them stopped, stood there, and signaled back. The other three continued running, gradually increasing their distance from the first. Eventually, the four formed a large square.

Ye Zhongming knew that this marked the location of the Wanpeng Sand Bat beneath the sand.

Ye Zhongming returned a gesture, signaling them to start. Meanwhile, others ran to the open area between the dune and the four figures, scattering something on the ground.

The four Star-Eye Clan warriors took items from the spatial equipment Ye Zhongming had given them and assembled them on the spot. Within moments, four strange machines, over two meters tall, stood on the blue sand.

The four coordinated with each other and simultaneously pressed a button on their machines. Then they immediately retreated, circling around to the side. The support and logistics warriors in the formation on the dune also left the group and moved to various nearby dunes, large and small.

The four machines began to rumble. Their shape resembled upside-down giant firearms. Driven by energy within, they repeatedly drove a long, thick steel spike downward.

As the spikes penetrated deeper, the pile-driving devices increased in frequency. Then, at a certain point, white smoke began to rise from them, and their pace slowed.

After a brief pause, two of them exploded. They had apparently encountered strong resistance underground; the steel spikes could no longer penetrate, and the recoil had destroyed the pile-driver heads.

A second later, the entire surrounding desert began to tremble.

No creature would tolerate being relentlessly pile-driven on its back. The Wanpeng Sand Bat might have thick, tough skin, but it could not just endure attacks indefinitely. Eventually, its defenses would be breached.

Its massive body began to emerge from the sand. The tentacles on its back appeared first, flailing wildly in the air. Then its black back began to surface. From the sand dune, constrained by the terrain, it seemed as if the thing stretched to the horizon.

"Strike!"

Ye Zhongming said. The warriors beside him immediately began beating prepared skin drums. The deep, resonant booming made the sand on the ground vibrate in rhythm.

The commotion immediately drew the attention of the enraged Wanpeng Sand Bat. The heads on this side turned and saw so many invaders shouting at it. It charged directly toward them.

Ye Zhongming smiled, then called out for everyone to be ready and to deploy their Little Black Shields.

The Wanpeng Sand Bat was enormous, but it moved very quickly. This was due to the flexible suckers beneath its body—organs not only used for absorbing nutrients but also as fulcrums and motors for movement.

The distance between them was short. The Sand Bat reached them in seconds. Unlike the Bristle Four-Hoofed Beasts, it did not charge recklessly. Instead, the tentacles on its back stabbed toward them.

Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!

The sounds of countless collisions rang out. Warriors holding Little Black Shields were sent flying. Many of the shields shattered under the attacks from the nearest tentacles. Several warriors fell, bleeding.

Ye Zhongming quickly checked on them. Fortunately, they were not seriously injured—just internally jolted, with some suffering broken hand bones.

These fallen warriors were pulled back into the formation by others, who took their places.

This super-Level Nine monster's attack power was so great that even Red Condensation-grade shields could not fully protect against it.

But Ye Zhongming knew that the first wave of attacks was the strongest. And this wave, it seemed, had been withstood.

"Attack."

Ye Zhongming shouted into the communicator. The warriors behind him, those who had circled to the nearby dunes, and even the four Star-Eye Clan warriors on the far side, all began their assault.
