Apocalypse: Goddess Catalog, Starting With Twin Sisters!
Chapter 212 - 205: The Female Doctor Surnamed Gao
Chapter 212: Chapter 205: The Female Doctor Surnamed Gao
Mengde had experienced the bottleneck when breaking through from Tier Six to Tier Seven before. It had felt like there was a solid wall blocking his path.
But thankfully, when he lit up Sister Ru in the Goddess Catalogue, he broke straight through to Tier Seven!
For his women, however, it would take some time.
And of course, his "vigorous support" from behind would be indispensable to the process.
But that wasn’t the problem he was racking his brain over.
It was the base’s growing population.
The original villa district on Yulong Island was already full.
Fortunately, Mengde had already prepared for this.
He had already ordered the construction of new villas.
He also accelerated the development of the back mountain area.
He was confident that, before long, rows and rows of houses would be built there.
Meanwhile, with the influx of survivors, Jiayi and the other women were obviously much busier.
They spent most of their days in Building Four, handling various affairs.
This meant that whenever Mengde missed them, his only option was to visit their office.
Of course, he wasn’t complaining about the office.
After all, with them in their OL uniforms and black silk stockings, the office environment was perfect.
’It’s the perfect battlefield!’
Mengde had certainly enjoyed his fair share of the pleasure it offered!
Amidst his enjoyment, Mengde also noticed that order throughout Yulong Base was slowly being restored.
This wasn’t the order of a social hierarchy, of superiors and inferiors.
It was the return of a normal social order, like before the apocalypse.
And with it came the restoration of various services and businesses.
For example, when he was strolling around the base with Xiaoling’er a couple of days ago, he discovered that some stalls had been set up at the foot of Yulong Mountain.
They were filled with all sorts of scarce goods.
The area was bustling with activity, like a miniature shopping street.
He asked around and learned that it was Jiayi’s idea.
She explained it was to make it convenient for people in the base to trade for what they needed.
Mengde, of course, wholeheartedly approved.
After all, it was for the good of Yulong Base’s development.
However, this growth also exposed a new problem: a shortage of skilled personnel in certain areas.
The most critical shortage was in medical staff—specifically, doctors.
While most survivors were safe within the base, people still got the occasional cold or fever.
With a population of ten thousand survivors, things were fine as long as no one got sick.
But if an illness did break out, it would be a major problem.
After all, among the survivors he had rescued so far, very few were actual doctors.
As a result, receiving medical care had become a major issue for the entire base.
This was the problem Mengde was contemplating.
But that wasn’t even the worst of it.
The real headache was that ordinary doctors weren’t enough.
Leng Feng and his teams had to venture out frequently to gather supplies.
So injuries were inevitable.
These weren’t ordinary injuries; they were inflicted by other Superpower Users.
And they could only be treated by a Superpower User!
The base was already short on doctors, and Superpower Users who had awakened Healing System abilities were even rarer.
This meant that when the Superpower Users under Leng Feng’s command were injured, they had nowhere to go for treatment.
Several had already died as a result!
Therefore, Mengde felt it was imperative that he personally go out and find some doctors who had awakened Superpowers.
He had already told Leng Feng and his teams to keep an eye out for such people.
But the results had been negligible.
It seemed he had no choice but to handle it personally.
But... where to find such talented individuals? That was the real problem.
Before the apocalypse, a simple job posting would have done the trick.
’But this is the apocalypse!’
It had been over two months since the world ended.
He figured places like hospitals had probably been overrun long ago.
So, he was trying to figure out where he should go to explore tomorrow.
But after listening to his explanation, Zhao Lina smiled brightly.
"Oh, so that’s what you were worried about!"
"That’s an easy fix!"
Hearing Zhao Lina’s relaxed tone, Mengde’s eyes immediately lit up.
It was as if he’d been thrown a lifeline.
"Oh? You know a place?"
’Zhao Lina is a teacher,’ he thought. ’When would she have had any contact with doctors?’
’Especially during the apocalypse!’
This made Mengde curious.
Seeing the look on Mengde’s face, Zhao Lina was very pleased with herself.
"Of course!"
"You shouldn’t underestimate me!"
"You might be incredible, but I’m not so bad myself, you know!"
Ah, this woman... she was very satisfied with the surprised look on the man’s face.
Seeing how eager he was, she didn’t keep him in suspense.
She spoke up directly.
"Actually, I have a friend who’s a doctor."
"What’s more, she’s a chief physician at our very own East Sea City First Hospital!"
Mengde had heard of the East Sea City First Hospital that Zhao Lina mentioned.
It was quite far from where he lived, so while he’d never been there, he knew of the hospital.
It was said to be a top-tier tertiary hospital, one of the best in all of East Sea City, and even the entire province.
In terms of scale, talent, technology, and medical equipment, it was second to none in the entire province.
It would have been an excellent place to explore.
But now... that was a different story.
More than two months into the apocalypse, it had likely been overrun by zombies long ago.
The doctors and nurses inside had probably met a grim fate long ago.
After all, that hospital was located near the city center!
He had some idea of the zombie situation in the city center from before.
Therefore, when Mengde heard her mention this hospital, his expression wasn’t particularly happy.
Zhao Lina, still in his arms, naturally noticed this.
She was a little confused.
Mengde immediately explained his line of thought to her.
Only then did Zhao Lina understand.
"Oh, so that’s what you were concerned about!"
"Actually, I wasn’t finished."
"I remember that on the day the zombies broke out, my friend happened to be on a scheduled day off!"
"She was resting at home!"
"She wasn’t at the hospital for work!"
"Back when we still had a signal, she sent me a message saying she was feeling a little unwell, as if she’d awakened some kind of ability."
"I didn’t think much of it at the time, but looking back now, it’s very likely she awakened a Superpower!"
"She perfectly fits your requirement of someone who can heal and has awakened a Superpower!"
Mengde’s heart leaped the moment he heard that.
’If she was in her residential complex, her chances of survival would be much higher!’
Of course, that was relative to a densely populated place like a hospital.
After all, the apocalypse had begun on a weekday.
"That’s fantastic!"
"She’s exactly the kind of person I need!"
Mengde was ecstatic.
Seeing that she had helped the man before her solve a difficult problem, Zhao Lina also felt genuinely happy.
"My friend’s surname is Gao. I’ll give you her home address in a bit!"
Huh???
’A female doctor with the surname Gao...?’
An image of a woman wearing gold-rimmed glasses subconsciously surfaced in Mengde’s mind...
