Chapter 301: Chapter 244: A Sudden Golden Wind Rises, the White Tiger Shakes the Mountain City (Part 2)

The City Lord raised his head, his gaze as sharp as lightning, fixed on the White Tiger group below.

The young woman at the center of the group was unflinching. While stroking the Little Jade Tiger in her arms, her gaze met his defiantly.

"Hah!"

A cold sneer echoed.

Tang Wen felt his heart inexplicably tighten.

The laughter seemed to have come from the young woman, yet at the same time, it didn’t.

"Lord Huang, is it? Why haven’t you made your move? You won’t figure out how strong I am just by standing there!" The voice was tinged with a cynical playfulness.

Huang San’s expression changed drastically.

Shui Qianjun and the other Peak Fifth-Grade experts looked as if they had seen a ghost.

Their sharp senses told them that the one who had just spoken was the seemingly harmless tiger cub in the young woman’s arms!

’It’s waiting for Lord Huang to make a move?’

’No, that’s not it!’

’How can it talk?’

’This is absurd.’

"Fourth Grade?!"

Huang San’s eyes widened in horror, and he collapsed limply to the ground.

Tang Wen and Shui Yun exchanged a look, their eyes filled with utter disbelief.

Fourth Grade!

’If that Little Jade Tiger is Fourth Grade, can Ganshan City possibly survive today?’

"Retreat! Retreat! Retreat!"

"This is a battle between Fourth-Grade powerhouses! Fall back if you don’t want to die!"

’Is it really a Fourth-Grade?’

The Sixth-Grade and Extraordinary experts positioned at the rear were the last to realize what was happening.

"Go! Hurry!"

"Is it really a Fourth-Grade? I want to stay and watch."

"Watch my ass! Get to a safe distance and then you can watch."

"..."

Large groups of people began to fall back.

Tang Wen tugged on Shui Yun’s sleeve. "Master, should Shui Yun and I retreat as well?"

Shui Qianjun shot him an irritated glance. "You’re a cautious one, kid. No need. It’s just a few of them, and they’re not radiating any killing intent. Their beef is with the Huang Family; they don’t seem to have much malice for anyone else."

’That makes sense. As powerful as they are, they probably won’t go on a city-wide killing spree.’

Tang Wen relaxed slightly. He turned to one of the gang’s Extraordinary experts who was retreating and said, "Do me a favor and run to the Main Altar. Tell Elder Zhang what’s happening and let him know we’re safe."

The expert acknowledged the order and left.

The playful, cynical voice spoke again. "In light of Ganshan City’s meritorious service guarding the Demon Cave, let’s not fight here. Come on, let’s find another spot to exchange a couple of moves."

With that, the Little Jade Tiger seemed to swim right out of the young woman’s arms and into the air.

Despite its infantile baring of fangs and claws, the sight was utterly adorable.

"Alright," the City Lord replied calmly.

His voice was hoarse, as if he were suffering from an internal injury.

It was the first time Tang Wen had ever heard him speak, so he didn’t know if his voice was naturally like that or if he was truly injured.

Seeing his master’s expression remain unchanged, he stopped worrying needlessly.

The City Lord descended slightly from mid-air, his gaze sweeping over everyone as he spoke. "If I don’t return, find a way to get back the Iron Crown. Do not seek revenge."

"Second Uncle!"

Huang San’s voice was filled with grief.

The City Lord sighed softly. "Only by keeping our clansmen in check can we endure."

With that, he locked his eyes on the Little Jade Tiger, took a single step, and vanished like a phantom.

The Little Jade Tiger paddled its four paws through the air and shot west like a meteor.

It felt as though it was even faster than the City Lord.

Tang Wen covertly studied the expressions of the onlookers.

He was surprised to see that the Patriarch of the sword-wielding Chen Family looked even more worried than others.

He looked even more concerned than the City Lord’s own nephew, Third Master Huang, who was still kneeling on the ground.

’Maybe he’s just naturally melancholic?’

Tang Wen didn’t dwell on it. One after another, the Fifth-Grade powerhouses shot into the air in pursuit.

Several Fifth-Grade experts from the Giant Rock Martial Arts Hall, including their Master, also gave chase.

The members of the Huang Family, however, didn’t move.

The experts from the Chen and Lu families also stayed put.

Shui Qianjun suppressed the urge, extinguishing any thought of following to watch the fight.

As the Gang Leader, he couldn’t act rashly.

As for Tang Wen, deep down, he wanted to witness the battle between these titans.

But he valued his life more.

’Hadn’t he seen that not a single Sixth-Grade expert had gone after them?’

’What would be the point of me following?’

’The gap in our Realms is too vast. I probably wouldn’t even be able to comprehend the fight.’

’No—judging by the speed they just displayed, it’s more likely I wouldn’t even be able to see them at all.’

WHOOSH!

Something seemed to be happening in the distance.

Everyone looked up.

After a moment, Shui Qianjun was the first to frown. "This is bad! The shockwave from the Fourth-Grade battle is heading this way!"

Tang Wen was confused. They couldn’t even hear a sound, which meant the battle was very far away.

’Even if there is a shockwave, can’t we just hide below the wall? What’s the big deal?’

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

The sound of something slicing through the air arrived.

They were all familiar figures.

It was the Fifth-Grade experts who had just left to watch the fight.

They were returning in a sorry state, moving even faster than before.

"All members of the Black Water Gang, jump off the wall and fall back!"

Shui Qianjun roared.

Tang Wen turned, ran to the back of the rampart, and right before he jumped, he chanced a look back.

He saw a yellow wall of wind, like a sandstorm, pressing down on them and blanketing everything!

The pressure was suffocating.

The moment his feet hit the ground, he was off like the wind, covering several hundred meters in an instant.

Shui Yun and Li Zi were right behind him.

Aunt Lian flanked them, providing protection.

RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE!

A continuous, deafening roar echoed.

The group looked back to see the yellow wall of wind, swirling with overwhelming clouds of dust and sand, obscuring the deep blue, crystal-clear night sky.

The wind slammed into the wall.

That thick stone wall—wide enough for several horses to ride abreast, sturdy enough to withstand round-the-clock bombardment from catapults, strong enough to hold back an army of thousands—collapsed with a deafening roar!

A sudden realization struck Tang Wen: ’The City Lord must have lost!’

’Could tonight possibly end peacefully?’

’Is Ganshan City, which has stood for so many years, going to be destroyed today?’

’Is the power of a Fourth-Grade really this terrifying? Can they truly destroy mountains and raze cities with a casual wave of their hand?’
