Chapter 320: Chapter 251: Young Man, Why Don’t You Take Care of Your Body

’First, I’ll keep an eye on him.’

Huang the Seventeenth Lang was at the Peak of Sixth Grade.

Tang Wen wasn’t afraid of him, but he couldn’t take him down alone.

After all, Huang the Seventeenth Lang was no ordinary person, but a prized descendant from the Huang Family’s direct lineage.

The Huang Family had once groomed him and one other junior as potential heirs.

Someone like him couldn’t be treated as an ordinary Sixth Grade expert.

That’s why when Tang Wen made his move, he would definitely not go alone.

He would have to bring White Tiger Ah Qi along.

He’d previously felt the name "Hu Qi" was too informal and had changed it to "Ah Qi."

Though, to be fair, that was pretty informal too.

But Hu Qi herself was quite fond of the name "Ah Qi."

Even with Ah Qi, Tang Wen didn’t feel it was a sure thing against Huang the Seventeenth Lang.

Even though Ah Qi’s combat prowess was slightly greater than that of a human at the Peak of Fifth Grade.

Still worried, he took out his Unity Mirror.

In his past life, he had a habit of checking his phone first thing in the morning. Now, he started his day by picking up the Unity Mirror for a quick chat.

Hu Lan had adapted to his schedule, always available for a morning chat.

It wasn’t morning, however, so using the Unity Mirror now was more like leaving a message.

"Lan’Er, I’ve found traces of Huang the Seventeenth Lang in the mountains..."

Tang Wen had previously told her the story of Huang the Seventeenth Lang, so Hu Lan was already familiar with the situation.

After sending the message, he went back to his training. Half a day later, during a break, he picked up the mirror again.

Two lines of elegant script were written on it:

"Don’t call me that."

"I understand what you mean. Wait a few days. The White Tiger Guard and the other guards I promised you are already on their way."

Tang Wen smiled and casually replied, "Alright, thank you, Lan’Er."

’To kill a Peak Sixth Grade expert, Tang Wen plus a Peak Fifth Grade expert should have been more than enough.’

’In fact, a single Peak Fifth Grade White Tiger should have been sufficient.’

’I would just be extra help.’

’But this Sixth Grade expert was the renegade son of the Huang Family. He had hidden in Ganshan City for years, and later managed to escape into the deep mountains despite a city-wide manhunt.’

’The more I think about it, the more suspicious it seems.’

’What was his purpose for hiding in Ganshan City?’

’As a Sixth Grade expert, was he planning to continue his revenge against the Huang Family? Or did he have a backer providing him with protection and the resources needed for cultivation, demanding he remain in the city?’

’If he wanted revenge, he’s had plenty of opportunities over the past few years, yet no one from the Huang Family has died.’

’Later, after I framed him, he was ambushed by the Giant Rock Martial Arts Hall but still managed to escape unharmed. His strength is clearly out of the ordinary!’

’As a Peak Sixth Grade expert, he would need considerable resources just to maintain his condition through daily training.’

’Zhao Zhe alone couldn’t possibly provide for him.’

’After considering all the possibilities, that only leaves one option: the Huang Family!’

’There are still people in the Huang Family backing Huang Shiqi.’

’Huang Shiqi killed his father and assaulted his own stepmother, committing so many vile acts.’

’And the Huang Family still tolerates him?’

’The games these great families play are truly twisted!’

Tang Wen concluded that he must have the support of at least one Fifth Grade expert from the Huang Family.

’If I attack rashly without knowing the whereabouts of this Fifth Grade expert, will I run right into them?’

’If a Fifth Grade expert interferes, my assassination attempt will fail.’

’I’d better just wait a few more days...’

Tang Wen returned to his courtyard carrying a large bamboo basket in each hand. The baskets were filled with neatly stacked oil-paper packages, at least a hundred of them.

An intoxicating aroma wafted from them as he walked, penetrating even the thick oil-paper wrappings.

"Ah Qi, come and get your chicken!"

"You little brat! You’re getting more and more disrespectful. It’s Sister Qi to you!"

The White Tiger leaped out of the hot spring room. With a gentle shake—WHOOSH—droplets of spring water flew from its fur, instantly vaporizing into a white mist.

Ah Qi’s fur was as white and beautiful as silk brocade.

"’Not respectful?’" Tang Wen exclaimed with mock indignation. "’I brought you a hundred plump chickens! We’ve got Sichuan pepper chicken, roast chicken, fried chicken...’"

Before he could finish, there was a blur of motion. The white Big Cat was suddenly in front of him, snatching one of the baskets in its jaws.

"Hey, don’t be so impatient."

The Big Cat snorted. Dozens of paper packages flew out of the basket and, guided by its Spiritual Power, unwrapped themselves in mid-air.

Revealing glistening, delicious-looking whole chickens.

The chickens shifted in the air, forming an orderly queue in a basic sequence—one Sichuan pepper, one roast, one lightly-flavored stewed, one fried—and flew straight into the tiger’s cavernous mouth.

Its sword-sharp teeth crunched down once before it swallowed everything—bones, meat, and skin—in one gulp.

After downing forty chickens in a row, Ah Qi finally paused her ferocious gobbling.

She began to eat more slowly, savoring them half a chicken at a time.

Seeing this, Tang Wen took out a stove to warm up some 72-degree hard liquor.

FWOOSH! The flames flared to life.

The stove was too hot, and the liquor caught fire, burning with a blue flame.

Over the past few days, Ah Qi had sampled every kind of alcohol in the city and had taken a particular liking to hard liquor.

And of all the hard liquors, her favorite was the 72-degree Lao Bai Gan.

"Stop ruining it. If you don’t know how to warm liquor, then don’t even try."

The white Big Cat’s eyes were filled with disdain.

So, Tang Wen had no choice but to fetch a larger iron basin, pour in boiling water, and place the liquor pot inside to warm it in a water bath.

"’So, what do you want, kid?’"

"’As a matter of fact, I do. I have to kill someone in a few days, and I was hoping you could help me train for it, Sister Qi.’"

"’Fine. Another hundred chickens every three days.’"

"’Deal. I’ll even throw in a hundred roast ducks and geese. Hmm, but all this meat can’t be healthy. Do you ever eat vegetables?’"

"’I, the magnificent King of Exotic Beasts, didn’t train my ass off to reach the Peak of Fifth Grade just to eat vegetables!’"

Tang Wen was speechless. "...Fair point."

He changed the subject back to cultivation. "Our Dark Division techniques include a move called Instant Step, but I can’t seem to grasp the key to it, no matter how I try. There’s also a Defense Technique that I think I could master more quickly under pressure from you."

"’That’s it?’"

Her fist-sized, amber eyes were filled with a contempt that screamed, ’That’s so simple a three-year-old cub could do it. You’re bothering me with *this*?’

Tang Wen didn’t get angry. Seeing an opportunity to fleece her for more, he immediately pressed on, "What about Spiritual Power? Is there a fast way to increase it? Do you know any spiritual defense techniques you could teach me? And also..."
