Apocalypse: Grinding EXP through Hunting

Chapter 324: Chapter 252: Battle Across Ranks, Clash of Shocking Fists
A variety of dishes were served. The female housekeeper personally managed the situation, while also paying close attention to the preferences of the five humans and seven tigers present.
For instance, Hu Qi loved to eat chicken. Her best friend, Hu Jiu, who was about to become one of Tang Wen’s guards alongside her, preferred marbled pork belly.
The several Fifth-Grade women were not picky eaters; there was nothing on the table full of meat and vegetable dishes that they didn’t like.
This perhaps meant that the Tiger Race, living in the great mountains with such a small population, had no one who specialized in the culinary arts.
Once everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, Tang Wen smiled and suggested a walk outside the city.
Hu Qi pursed her lips and swallowed a piece of chicken. "Alright."
Tang Wen activated his Breath Concealment Technique, enveloping all twelve of them.
Hu Qi took him, soared into the air, and shot straight toward the mountain forests outside the city, heading for Huang the Seventeenth Lang’s hiding place.
No one in the city noticed.
Only the City Lord raised his head and glanced upward with his eternally unchanging expression.
On the way, Tang Wen explained simply to the group, "The real reason I asked you all to come out is to help me catch someone. He might have a Fifth-Grade expert with him, so we can’t let him get away."
Hu Li asked, "Do we have enough people?"
"Uh, he probably won’t have too many Fifth-Grades with him. Two or three at most?" According to information from the Black Water Gang, most of the Huang Family’s Fifth-Grade experts had recently been seen in the city.
The Fifth-Grade White Tigers flew at incredible speed, covering several hundred li in no time.
"CAW CAW!" It was a Brown-tailed Crow.
"Come here."
"CAW!" Its little head shook frantically.
"Hurry up!"
"CAW CAW CAW!"
The Brown-tailed Crow didn’t dare approach. No matter how Tang Wen called out, it just flapped its wings and circled at a distance.
"Sister Qi, could you please bring it over?"
A whirlwind suddenly whipped up. The Brown-tailed Crow, a mere High-level Exotic Beast, was powerless to resist and was swept over, squawking chaotically.
"There, there. Look at you, you little coward."
After a bit of calming, the Brown-tailed Crow, trembling all over, burrowed into Tang Wen’s embrace.
Ah Qi glanced over. "You’re not even as big as a chicken. No one’s going to eat you."
Tang Wen was speechless.
The Brown-tailed Crow trembled even more violently.
Outside the city, it had subjugated many more crows.
The entire mountain forest was blanketed with its spies.
Following its directions, Tang Wen found Li Zi and Elder Li, who had arrived earlier.
"Sister Qi, let’s take them with us!"
A gentle breeze lifted the two of them.
A few minutes later, they landed on a snowy peak.
The five humans and seven tigers concealed their auras in the air, using the high-altitude clouds to hide their forms as they completely surrounded the snowy peak.
Tang Wen looked around on the ground, brushed aside the white snow, and picked up a rock the size of a human head.
He swung his arms back, let out a "Hah!", and the rock tore through the air with a sonic BOOM, crashing against the snow-covered mountainside.
"CRACK CRACK CRACK."
The accumulated snow couldn’t bear the strain.
"RUMBLE!"
An avalanche began. They were at the summit, so the sliding snow didn’t much affect Tang Wen’s position.
The snow cascaded down like rolling thunder, revealing the black rock of the mountain face.
Tang Wen observed carefully, but after a long while, he still couldn’t find an entrance.
Fortunately, the Brown-tailed Crow had been watching for days and was certain the target’s hiding place was nearby.
The three of them searched for a while longer, then suddenly heard a transmitted voice: "Careful! Someone’s coming."
Tang Wen looked down. A figure, moving like an ape, bounded up the cliffs and precipices in continuous leaps, reaching the summit in the blink of an eye.
"Huang the Seventeenth Lang?" His voice held a hint of genuine surprise; it wasn’t an act. The scars on the man’s face were all gone, making him look very different from his portrait.
Fortunately, his pair of triangular eyes was a dead giveaway.
But Elder Li and Li Zi, who shared a blood feud with the Huang Family, were taken aback. The tension and excitement in their hearts faded.
Huang the Seventeenth Lang was a traitor to the Huang Family. In that sense, he was an enemy of the Huang Family, just like them.
’So if Tang Wen is dealing with him, isn’t he just rooting out a traitor for the Huang Family?’
The two were confused but didn’t speak rashly.
They quickly moved to stand behind Tang Wen, presenting a three-against-one formation.
"You know me? Three Extraordinaries, and you’re not running? Are you looking to die?" he sneered, his eyes cautiously scanning the surroundings.
Just then, another figure appeared on the summit as if from nowhere. "My son, no need to look. There’s no one else around, just these three idiots!"
The newcomer was a mature woman in white whom Tang Wen didn’t recognize.
Elder Li, having studied the Huang Family for years, reminded them in a low voice, "That’s Huang the Seventeenth Lang’s biological mother, Huang Ailing!"
"His own mother is also named Huang?" Tang Wen was astonished.
"Hah! And that’s not all," Elder Li sneered. "She and Huang the Seventeenth Lang’s father were cousins! Incestuous filth. No wonder they produced a beast who would kill his own father, violate his aunts, and bring chaos to the family!" At this point, he finally understood Tang Wen’s plan.
’Today’s target is this woman!’
’She’s a genuine Fifth-Grade expert of the Huang Family, a true high-ranking member. If I can kill her today and offer her head to my wife and children, then even dying here would be worth it.’
"You’re courting death!"
Huang the Seventeenth Lang cursed and was about to move, but his mother stopped him with an outstretched hand.
The latter had recognized Tang Wen.
"Hm?" Having spent years in hiding, Huang the Seventeenth Lang didn’t recognize Tang Wen.
"You’re Young Master Tang Wen? Could there be some misunderstanding between us? Let my son go, and I’ll give you anything you want." She spoke as she stepped closer.
According to the Huang Family’s intelligence, Tang Wen had a Fifth-Grade White Tiger by his side, a creature so powerful that no one in their clan dared claim they could defeat it.
Seeing Tang Wen’s fearless demeanor, she knew the White Tiger was obviously nearby.
She had to capture Tang Wen and use him as a hostage. Otherwise, once the fight with the White Tiger began, even though her son had no reason to fear these three, the commotion from a battle between Fifth-Grade experts would be immense, and his location would likely be exposed.
Huang the Seventeenth Lang sensed his mother’s unease and suppressed his anger, following closely behind her.
’Closer, just a little closer.’
’Once I’m within a hundred meters, I can use Flash Strike to instantly capture that little whelp across from me, and I can guarantee the other two won’t even be able to make a sound.’
Her gaze fell on Tang Wen’s face, and her heart stirred. ’He’s certainly a handsome one. No need to kill him after I catch him. Making him pleasure me and my son... wouldn’t that be delightful?’
