Apocalypse: Grinding EXP through Hunting
Chapter 401: Underground Trial, the Huang Family’s Overt Plot
Knowledge about the Beast Taming Skill flooded his mind.
In a single moment, Tang Wen’s gains surpassed the lifetime accumulation of many a Beastmaster.
The variety of beasts one could tame was immense.
Mastering them all was an impossible task.
Simply mastering one category of Exotic Beast, such as flying ones, and researching them to a certain degree was enough to become a master.
Most of the original Beastmasters of Ganshan City were like this.
They had mastered one category of Exotic Beasts.
Being able to catalyze and evolve an Extraordinary Exotic Beast was enough to live up to the name of Beastmaster.
But Tang Wen was different. The knowledge he obtained covered all categories.
Of course, it was limited to the common Exotic Beast races found on land.
Knowledge regarding powerful races like the White Tiger…
…was still unknown to him.
[Experience Panel]
[Beast Taming Skill, Grandmaster (19/18000); Traits: 1. spiritual soothing; 2. Extraordinary Affinity (Passive); 3. Zige: Dispel Killing Intent]
The White Tigers all stared at Tang Wen in unison.
The strange sensation brought on by the spiritual soothing made them feel awkward.
The latter nonchalantly scanned his Experience Panel while saying, “I just learned a Spirit Relaxation Method. Ah Qi and Hu Niannian both said it was pretty good, so I’ll let you all try it.”
After speaking, he continued to cast the Skill.
Several of the White Tigers looked at Ah Qi and Hu Niannian.
The two big white cats nodded. Ah Qi even spoke up to explain, “Just bear with it. It actually feels pretty good after a bit.”
Hu Niannian then made an introduction, “This is Xia Qingge, my new friend.”
The White Tigers, along with Hu Li and the others, could tell that Xia Qingge was at the Initial Entry into the Fifth Grade Realm.
They all nodded in acknowledgment.
Tang Wen stayed there, brazenly reaping the benefits.
Beast Taming Skill Experience +15, +19, +13…
He had Li Zi go next door to announce that he had “come out of seclusion.”
Zhou Bing stayed close to Tang Wen, her keep-your-distance demeanor not appearing overly stiff.
In fact, her personality was quite similar to that of Hu Li and the other White Tiger Race People—beautiful and of few words.
The White Tigers, on the other hand, had very lively personalities.
Hu Niannian pulled Xia Qingge along, challenging everyone to drinking contests one by one, grabbing roasted chicken and barbecue to feast on.
[2. Extraordinary Affinity (Passive); 3. Zige: Dispel Killing Intent]
He looked at the two new entries.
Extraordinary Affinity was a passive ability.
Tang Wen looked at Hu Qi, who was lying on a fur blanket beside him, and carefully sent a telepathic message, “Look at me. Do you feel like anything’s different?”
Hu Qi was holding a roasted chicken, chewing on fried chicken, with a plate of white-cut chicken and a pot of fragrant chicken soup in a basin before her.
Faced with such delicacies, how could she have the time to bother with Tang Wen?
Only after he urged her several times did she reluctantly raise her head for a glance.
“You look just fine, there’s nothing wro—huh?”
Hu Qi was surprised for a moment, then her white tail whipped Hu Niannian. “You look at him.”
Getting smacked by Sister Qi, Hu Niannian got angry and was about to raise her wine bowl for a drinking contest. But then she turned and saw Tang Wen. “Huh? How did the Elder get so much better-looking?”
Hearing this, all the women and White Tigers looked over.
Tang Wen met their gazes, his eyes filled with anticipation.
“He did get a bit better-looking!”
The humans and tigers said in unison.
He was taken aback. ‘It makes sense for the White Tigers to find me more handsome, thanks to “Extraordinary Affinity” at work.’
‘But why do these women think I’m better-looking too?’
After a moment’s thought, he asked again, “I’m asking if there are any changes in me. The emphasis is on ‘changes’.”
Hu Niannian said, “The change is that you’re more pleasing to the eye. About twice as pleasing as before.”
She said it so seriously that the other White Tigers all nodded in agreement.
But the women present clearly didn’t think so.
Hu Li said, “It’s more like he’s just a little bit better-looking than before.”
As soon as she said this, Zhou Bing also nodded along.
She seemed to be in strong agreement.
Amid the eating, drinking, and laughter, the sound of footsteps came from outside.
With his incredible hearing, Tang Wen knew at once that it was three women approaching.
Not only that, but he could even state their height, weight, whether they were pear-shaped or apple-shaped, and whether their legs were long or short.
Of course, he couldn’t tell all this just by listening.
He was simply that familiar with the three women.
The arrivals were none other than his senior sister Shui Yun, his housekeeper Shu Mei, and his personal guard captain Liang Yu.
SWISH!
Zhou Bing sensed something and turned her head.
Her gaze met a pair of eyes as gentle as water.
“Junior Brother, who is this?”
Shui Yun had already glanced at Xia Qingge, who was in the middle of a drinking contest. She was surprised by the other woman’s beauty, but even more surprised by her free-spirited and forthright nature.
But it seemed this great beauty was on better terms with the White Tigers.
She didn’t seem to pay much mind to her Junior Brother.
Her eyes shifted, and she looked at Zhou Bing.
Their eyes met, and she instantly understood that this woman’s relationship with Tang Wen was unusual.
Hearing Shui Yun speak, Xia Qingge put on a gloating expression.
The White Tigers’ eyes also became very human-like. They slowed their eating and perked up their round ears, waiting to hear how Tang Wen would answer.
Even the women from the typically cool-headed Tiger Race tribe revealed expressions of watching a good show.
Tang Wen pouted inwardly.
‘Watching a spectacle isn’t just human nature,’ he thought, ‘it’s the nature of all intelligent beings.’
From the moment he heard Shui Yun’s footsteps, Tang Wen had been thinking about how to introduce everyone.
Now, hearing Shui Yun’s question, he first glanced at Shu Mei and Liang Yu behind her.
The two women’s eyes darted about, looking at Xia Qingge one moment and Zhou Bing the next.
They wore expressions of “this has nothing to do with me.”
He couldn’t help but feel a little satisfied. ‘They know their place.’
He stood up and, just as expected, took Zhou Bing’s hand as he walked forward to greet them.
“Oh, Senior Sister, this is my fiancée from the camp. She’s also our camp’s guardian.”
Turning to Zhou Bing, he said:
“Sister Bing, this is my Senior Sister. She’s also my fiancée.”
Xia Qingge, who was watching the show, leaned back. ‘Whoa! This kid is so shameless.’
The two women were of similar height, not at all shorter than an average man.
They had long legs, slender waists, and buttocks as round as a full moon.
The shapes of their small watermelons also had their own unique characteristics.
As for their faces, they were one in a million.
