Chapter 372: Chapter 372: Fully Automatic Baking Machine

After a while, Molly Mason, who was tagging along on the tour, was once again astonished. ’She sure cries a lot.’

But Rhonda Kane didn’t care in the slightest what others thought, only what Boss Hart did.

In between sobs, she’d glance up to read her expression, and only after confirming Boss Hart wasn’t getting impatient did she relax and continue to weep.

When Rhonda Kane finally finished crying, Lily Hart’s hand was sore from patting her back. She retrieved a bottle of mineral water for her from her storage space.

"Take a break. Crying so much is bad for your eyes. Here, rehydrate," Lily Hart said with a light laugh. "The good days are still ahead. You’re not going to cry every single time, are you?"

Rhonda Kane accepted the water as if it were a precious treasure and took a few careful sips.

Seeing this, Lily Hart smiled. "Don’t be afraid to drink it all. If you want to eat anything, just go to the shops out front. We get an employee discount."

Molly Mason chimed in from the side, "Yeah, it makes things super cheap. Go on, take a big gulp!"

Hearing this, Rhonda Kane felt tears welling up again, but she forcefully held them back.

’I can’t let them see,’ she thought, nodding frantically. ’This is so wonderful. They don’t mind me at all...’

After getting her Light Brain, Rhonda Kane first registered an account and added Lily Hart as a contact.

Lily Hart added her to the main shop owner group chat. The moment Rhonda Kane saw it, her tears turned to laughter.

Joining the group gave her the strange feeling of having made it to the inner circle. ’I’m one of them now! I fit in!’

She felt incredibly content!

Afterward, Lily Hart taught her how to use the "Lily Hart" software. It could be used to adjust the positions of the freezers and shelves, and also to change the decorations as she pleased.

Just as she had expected, there was indeed a fully-automated baking function. All you had to do was preset the types and quantities of desserts and bread.

You just had to pour the corresponding ingredients, like flour and eggs, into their designated slots, and the machine would make everything by itself.

Lily Hart found this to be remarkably intelligent. All she needed to do was add the ingredients and wait.

The machine handled the rest.

She then wondered, ’Can the machine also do things like the decorative piping and patterns on a cake?’

Rhonda Kane looked at all this with a beaming smile, eager to give it a try.

She rubbed her hands together and asked, "Boss Hart, can I try it out?"

"Of course!" Lily Hart shrugged. "Go for it. Mess around with it as much as you want!"

Rhonda Kane first opened the fully-automated baking mode on her Light Brain. The machine changed accordingly, looking completely different from before as slots for adding ingredients appeared.

When you clicked on a dessert in the software, the recipe and required ingredients would appear, for example: flour, xx grams...

Things like the order of operations and whipping cream—all things that sounded complicated—gave Rhonda Kane a headache just looking at them.

But the fully-automated mode was different. You just had to dump all the ingredients in. You didn’t even have to weigh them; the machine would handle it, leaving any excess in the slots for next time.

After some browsing, she decided to make a... mango mille crepe cake.

Back in the civilized era, her favorite dessert was mango mille crepe cake. Whenever she was in a bad mood, she would go buy a slice.

But since it was so expensive, she could only ever afford a single triangular slice.

To this day, she’d never been able to eat as much mango mille crepe cake as she wanted.

Rhonda Kane stared at the picture of the mango mille crepe cake for so long that Lily Hart looked over and started wanting some herself.

She took the initiative and asked, "Want to make that one?"

Rhonda Kane pulled her mind out of her memories and nodded repeatedly. "Yes, yes!"

"Then get to it! What are you waiting for?" Lily Hart urged, though in reality, she just wanted to eat it herself.

Rhonda Kane walked over to the automated baking machine. It was a large, square metal box with ten ingredient slots on top.

Following the Light Brain’s instructions, she bought mangoes, sugar, salt, cake flour, cornstarch, eggs, whole milk, and butter.

She placed each of these ingredients into the slots, then searched for "mango mille crepe cake" on the machine’s screen.

She tapped the [Make] button.

The next second, the amount of ingredients in the slots decreased, and the machine began to operate.

For safety reasons, the machine could not be operated while it was in the process of making something.

The three of them just stood to the side, staring at each other blankly.

But thankfully, the awkward atmosphere didn’t last long. The machine’s light turned from red to green.

With a "DING-DONG—", the mango mille crepe cake was ready.

Rhonda Kane pulled open a small door on the front of the machine, similar to a microwave. The space inside was quite large.

A mango mille crepe cake sat on a turntable in the very center of the base.

It was a perfectly standard circle.

The whole thing was a pale yellow, with cream and mango layered between the crepes. Rhonda Kane couldn’t wait to take it out.

She placed it directly on the nearby countertop. "Wow," Lily Hart exclaimed. "This machine is so practical!"

Not only was it fast, but it was also beautiful. It was the best-looking mango mille crepe cake she had ever seen!

It was textbook-perfect.

While Lily Hart and Molly Mason admired the mango mille crepe cake from every angle, Rhonda Kane was searching all over the place for a knife and plates.

She finally found some in a cupboard. They were the disposable kind, meant to be given to customers with birthday cakes.

"Here we go!" Rhonda Kane said, carrying a package of plastic cutlery, and came happily to the counter.

She deftly tore open the packaging and handed a disposable paper plate to each of them.

Holding the knife, she gestured left and right a couple of times, still unsure how to make the first cut.

Lily Hart couldn’t help but laugh. She took hold of Rhonda’s slightly rough wrist and made a cut straight down the middle.

Splitting the perfect mango mille crepe cake in two.

Lily Hart looked at it, then made two more cuts, dividing it into eight uneven slices.

Rhonda Kane didn’t mind at all. Giggling, she took the knife and a plate, following the motions she remembered.

She scooped up the largest slice of cake, placed it carefully on the plate, and handed it to Lily Hart.

"Boss Hart, the first piece is for you. Quick, eat! Let’s see how the machine did!" Rhonda Kane said with a proud smile, her dimples showing.

"Okay. You two eat as well." Lily Hart took the plate, picked up a fork, and dug in from top to bottom, carving out a messy scoop.

Afraid of dropping it, she shoved it into her mouth with extreme speed. The sweet cream melted instantly, but the slight tartness of the mango provided the perfect balance.

After just one bite, she already felt that this machine was an expert baker.

It was countless times more delicious than the twenty-yuan slices she used to buy at the cake shop!

Holding the plate in one hand, she freed the other to give a thumbs-up. "Really good! So delicious!"

Molly Mason was already so lost in the deliciousness she couldn’t speak, only knowing how to wolf it down.

Hearing Boss Hart say that, she immediately nodded vigorously. "Delicious, delicious, so delicious!"

After that, she paused her frantic eating, put on a serious expression, and said earnestly, "Rhonda, if you ever have any leftover cake scraps, you have to call me. I’ll come take care of them immediately!"

Lily Hart shot her a look but decided not to call her out. She just said, "Me too!"

Rhonda Kane’s dimples appeared again as she smiled. Lily Hart couldn’t resist reaching out and poking one.

Her smile froze on her face, but the dimple remained. Lily Hart casually pulled back her hand and said, trying to cover up the awkwardness, "I like dessert too."

Rhonda Kane thought to herself: ’Does Boss Hart like dimples? I should definitely smile more in the future.’

Hearing what Boss Hart said, she immediately piped up in agreement, "I love it too! From now on, whenever there’s something delicious, I’ll bring it over to you guys!"
