Apocalypse: I'm Bound to a Mobile Lottery Shop
Chapter 494: Buying a House
Chapter 494: Chapter 494: Buying a House
Lily Hart understood the unspoken message in his eyes. She waved her hand and said, "It’s fine. He knows his limits."
Owen Warren was very pleased with the subtle way she seemed to be defending him in front of everyone.
He couldn’t help but puff out his chest, echoing Lily Hart’s words. "Don’t worry, I know my limits."
Then he added, "Tonight, meet up behind the bathhouse. I’ll be your sparring partner. You can all come at me at once, or one by one. I don’t mind~"
Utterly arrogant.
Roman Rowe and the others, who had been somewhat reluctant, heard his incredibly arrogant words.
They were provoked and quickly accepted the challenge. Roman Rowe said, "You’re on! You think we’re afraid of you?"
They were afraid that if they hesitated for even a second, others would think they were scared.
Lily Hart smiled faintly. ’Another good show to watch, nice.’
After finishing breakfast, everyone felt a bit more refreshed. They cultivated for a while in the lottery shop.
They were finally full of energy!
Everyone returned to their respective shops and took their positions, ready to welcome customers.
As the temperature gradually rose, people from the Central Command began to venture out to kill zombies.
Rebuilding was an important but slow process, especially with the current scarcity of resources.
Problems were everywhere.
Problems had to be solved. Elder Shaw, frustrated, would go and yell at the mutant plant whenever something annoyed him.
The mutant plant was helpless. It didn’t dare talk back or fight back.
All it could do was work its hardest to earn a few less scoldings.
You could go to Lily Hart for daily necessities, appliances, and hardware.
But could you also get bricks, sand, concrete, and rebar from Boss Hart?
Elder Shaw wasn’t sure, but he decided to ask. After all, Lily Hart seemed capable of anything.
He quickly called Lily Hart and asked if she sold any building materials.
Lily Hart hesitated. "I don’t think so."
Elder Shaw was a little disappointed, but it was to be expected. He was about to hang up.
But then Lily Hart added, "I don’t have building materials, but I do have buildings. Interested in buying one?"
"Buildings?" Elder Shaw was confused and shocked. "Are we talking about the same kind of buildings?"
"Yeah. I’ve got single-family villas, high-rise apartments, and regular residential buildings. I have all sorts of types. I’ll send you some to look at."
While still on the phone with Elder Shaw, Lily Hart’s fingers were already swiping across her Light Brain.
She casually shared a few links with him, all ones she thought would be suitable for the Central Command.
One type was a standard ten-story residential building, filled with studio apartments of a decent size.
It was perfect for the residents of the Central Command. One person per room, no fights.
Another type was a single-family villa. It wasn’t luxurious, but its main advantage was being detached, offering good privacy.
It was well-suited as a reward for those in the Central Command who had made great achievements or significant contributions.
Or for the high-level leaders of the Central Command. It was up to them.
There was also a massive auditorium that could hold about two thousand people and was very sturdy.
In an emergency, people from the surrounding residential areas could be quickly gathered there for easier management.
These three types were all carefully selected by Lily Hart, and they all hit the right notes for Elder Shaw.
He wanted them all. They were all perfect.
The links clearly stated everything: price, capacity, durability, and so on...
Elder Shaw glanced at the prices. Only the auditorium and the residential buildings were relatively cheap.
He steeled his resolve, made a snap decision, and went for twenty residential buildings and five auditoriums to start.
Lily Hart saw the order. ’Whoa, a big spender. This definitely calls for a discount.’
So she asked, "Would you prefer an extra residential building or a single-family villa as a bonus?"
Elder Shaw didn’t even have to think. "The residential building, of course. What good is a villa? It can’t house many people."
"Alright! Twenty-one residential buildings and five auditoriums it is. I’ll come install them myself~" Lily Hart said cheerfully, confirming the order.
And so, before lunch, Lily Hart rushed over to the Central Command.
In the residential area, under Logan Holland’s guidance, she installed the twenty-one residential buildings in their designated locations.
The ruins of the original buildings had already been cleared away. They had been teetering on the brink of collapse anyway.
The moment they were attacked, they had basically given up, collapsed to the ground, and fulfilled their final duty.
As soon as these twenty-one buildings appeared, they instantly became the most eye-catching structures in the residential area.
One building could house about three hundred people, meaning twenty-one buildings could house six thousand three hundred.
This was the least crowded arrangement, with one person per room.
But with rooms in short supply and a large population, it was impossible for them to live like that.
They decided to put four people in each room, setting up bunk beds. Everyone was very satisfied with this decision.
After all, they never had it this good before. It used to be normal to have ten or even twenty people crammed into one room.
What’s more, the new residential buildings had private bathrooms. What kind of luxury was that?
Good heavens! Before, there was only one public restroom and bathhouse per floor.
And even though there was a bathhouse, there was no water, so it was useless!
At this rate, the twenty-one residential buildings could house over twenty-five thousand people!
But even so, the new residential buildings weren’t enough.
There were just too many ordinary residents in the Central Command...
Fortunately, the mutant plant hadn’t crushed all the residential buildings; more than half were still standing.
If they squeezed in, they could make do.
After installing the residential buildings, Lily Hart immediately went to install the five auditoriums.
Three in the residential area, and two in the core district.
After taking care of those two matters, Lily Hart met with the ever-busy Elder Shaw.
His eyes were bloodshot; he clearly hadn’t had a good night’s sleep in days.
In stark contrast, Lily Hart appeared, her face glowing and full of vitality, looking as if she had been resting very well.
She said with concern, "Elder Shaw, you really need to rest and take care of yourself. The Central Command needs you!"
Elder Shaw waved his hand and smiled. "This is nothing. A minor issue. I can still hold on!"
Lily Hart nodded. Elder Shaw hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Do you... happen to sell research institutes?"
"Huh? A research institute?" Lily Hart was puzzled.
Elder Shaw confirmed, "Yes, a research institute. It was extremely difficult to build the last one, and the equipment and machinery were all holdovers from the civilized era."
"Now... it’s all gone..." Elder Shaw spread his hands, looking helpless.
Lily Hart understood. Since the apocalypse began, factories had shut down, and everything had become a non-renewable resource.
So she opened her Light Brain and searched and searched. And what do you know, there it was: a complete, fully-equipped research institute.
The price, however, was breathtaking.
It cost ten million points—that’s one hundred thousand Crystal Cores. That was no small sum.
But she read the description on the details page. The facilities inside were exceptionally complete.
While it couldn’t compare to a top-tier research institute, it was at least mid-range. It would be more than enough for them.
She showed the price to Elder Shaw and Logan Holland. Both of them fell silent in unison.
They silently did the conversion in their heads. ’Damn, that’s a bit pricey.’
However, if they could get this research institute for one hundred thousand Crystal Cores, they would be more than willing.
The main problem was, they didn’t have that many on hand, did they?
