The moment Ethan dragged the Stoneborn Patriarch inside, he summoned Dopey and ordered him to attack.

He already knew what the man was going to say. There was no reason to listen to it again.

The Stoneborn Patriarch had barely entered the dimension when a figure charged toward him.

Without hesitation, he raised a hand and formed a shield in front of himself.

Boom!

The shield shattered, and both fighters were forced back several steps.

"A soulless thrall?"

The Stoneborn Patriarch stared in shock.

"How can a soulless thrall be this powerful?"

Dopey gave him no time to process it and attacked again.

The two immediately became locked in battle.

Ethan stayed well out of the way and watched. He couldn't even be bothered to use Silencing Gaze.

It wouldn't accomplish much anyway. Dopey couldn't kill this man, so Ethan might as well conserve his energy.

Once enough time had passed, he would release the Deadlock Dimension and let the Beast Sovereign finish the job.

Ethan stood at a distance, counting the seconds while Dopey and the Stoneborn Patriarch fought.

Five minutes passed.

Ethan immediately released the Deadlock Dimension.

Last time, he had spent roughly five minutes inside. By the time he came out, the Thundari Patriarch was already dead.

So five minutes should be enough this time too.

The moment Ethan reappeared, he found the Beast Sovereign's enormous head right in front of him and nearly jumped out of his skin.

"Holy shit! What are you doing?"

"Ethan, you're alive!" the Beast Sovereign exclaimed in delight.

"Why wouldn't I be?"

The Beast Sovereign was about to respond when it noticed Dopey and the Stoneborn Patriarch still fighting nearby. Surprise filled its face.

"A soulless thrall? That's yours?"

"Yeah." Ethan nodded.

"You have a soulless thrall that powerful?"

"You need a few trump cards when you're out in the world. Otherwise, people keep trying to bully you." Ethan smiled.

"Don't worry. As long as I'm here, no one will ever bully you again."

The same words still warmed Ethan's heart.

"Enough talking. My thrall can't kill him. Hurry up and finish off the Stoneborn Patriarch before the other fighters arrive."

"Got it."

The Beast Sovereign lunged toward the Stoneborn Patriarch.

The man was still locked in battle with Dopey when he saw the Beast Sovereign charging toward him. His expression changed, and he immediately fled.

His defenses might be formidable, but there was no way he could withstand the Beast Sovereign alone.

Unfortunately, he was even slower than the Thundari Patriarch. How could he possibly escape?

The Beast Sovereign quickly caught up and bombarded him with one terrifying attack after another.

The Stoneborn Patriarch cursed his luck and desperately layered defensive abilities over himself.

Ethan didn't have Dopey join the assault. Instead, he called the thrall back to protect him in case the Tier 46 fighters in the distance tried to attack.

After what had happened in the previous timeline, Ethan was being much more careful.

The Soulkin fighter who had ambushed him last time hadn't arrived yet, but Ethan still had to stay on guard.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Thunderous impacts shook the entire mountain range.

The Stoneborn Patriarch's defenses truly were terrifying. Even under the Beast Sovereign's relentless assault, he continued to hold on.

Ethan moved closer and waited for an opening.

If they could kill the Stoneborn Patriarch before the enemy reinforcements arrived, the rest of this battle would become much easier.

But at this rate, the Beast Sovereign wouldn't be able to finish him in time. The man's defenses were simply too powerful.

Ethan would have to interfere.

Silencing Gaze could only seal the Stoneborn Patriarch's mental energy for three seconds. He needed to choose the perfect moment.

Although the Stoneborn Patriarch was suffering under the Beast Sovereign's assault, his overwhelming defenses kept him alive.

The Stoneborn seemed born for defense. Their bodies were already ridiculously tough, and nearly all their abilities focused on protecting themselves.

Stone Armor, Earth Ward, Earthen Aegis—every one was an incredibly powerful defensive ability.

No wonder even the Beast Sovereign couldn't kill him quickly.

Another deafening impact shattered both the Earthen Aegis in the Stoneborn Patriarch's hands and the Stone Armor covering his body.

He remained calm and immediately attempted to recast his defenses.

"Beast Sovereign, hit him with everything you've got!" Ethan shouted.

The Beast Sovereign hesitated for a split second. Then it noticed that the Stoneborn Patriarch's Stone Armor hadn't reappeared and immediately understood.

Terrifying energy gathered around its enormous tail.

The tail lashed toward the Stoneborn Patriarch with overwhelming force.

The man's expression changed drastically. He desperately tried to mobilize his mental energy and reactivate Earthen Aegis, but his power remained completely sealed.

"Pfft!"

The Stoneborn Patriarch was launched through the air, spraying blood behind him.

The Beast Sovereign charged after him without hesitation.

Now was the time to press the advantage and finish him off.

But the Tier 46 fighters who had fled after the Thundari Patriarch's death returned and blocked its path.

The Thundari Patriarch was already dead. If the Stoneborn Patriarch died too, their side would be finished.

"You think you can stop me?"

The Beast Sovereign snorted and unleashed a devastating attack.

The Tier 46 fighters felt their scalps go numb, but they had no choice except to stand their ground.

The Celestials Patriarch and the others would arrive soon. They only needed to hold on for a few minutes.

While they held it back, the critically wounded Stoneborn Patriarch struggled to his feet and fled.

A smile tugged at Ethan's lips.

"Running? Did you forget about me?"

"Dopey, stop him."

The Tier 46 fighters who posed the greatest threat to Ethan were busy fighting the Beast Sovereign. That meant he was safe for the moment.

Dopey took a single step and instantly appeared in front of the Stoneborn Patriarch. An enormous fist of energy came crashing down.

Ethan stared in surprise.

That ability Dopey had just used seemed spatial-type. His speed had been incredible.

Already badly wounded, the Stoneborn Patriarch was driven back again and again by Dopey.

The Beast Sovereign soon killed five of the Tier 46 fighters blocking its path, forcing the survivors to flee.

It then flew straight to Dopey's battlefield.

The soulless thrall and the Beast Sovereign attacked the Stoneborn Patriarch together.

It didn't take long for even that walking fortress to collapse.

The Stoneborn Patriarch fell before the enemy reinforcements could arrive.

This time, Ethan had changed the course of events and secured an overwhelming early advantage for their side.
