Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts
Chapter 1449 - 91: Guer (Part 2)
Guer is not ordinary...
Although the Ancient Demon Tribe matures earlier than humans, being less than one year old and reaching third-level already shows how "well-connected" his lineage is.
And a good lineage is enough to provide the precocious ancient demon with more knowledge and insight.
But this little one might fool others, wanting to act with Wen Yu is truly encountering his ancestor...
Upon hearing Wen Yu decisively reply "Absolutely not!", Guer’s face remained calm, yet Wen Yu could see the joy in the corners of the little fellow’s eyes and eyebrows.
Wen Yu hadn’t finished speaking.
"Guer, my dear, let me tell you, I don’t really care much, I’m already eighty-three this year, and my life will likely just be like this, but you’re different, at such a young age you already have such power, you should have been a dragon among men, it’s truly a pity to be trapped in this small place..."
Wen Yu rambled on a lot, expressing sympathy for Guer becoming an orphan so early and being trapped here without seeing a future—a typical caring image for the younger generation.
Guer was moved to tears by Wen Yu’s speech, watching Wen Yu play the emotional card, and after a moment, the young fellow’s eyes lit up, gently clutching Wen Yu’s big hand.
"Uncle, I understand what you mean..."
"Hmm, it’s good you understand... but as it is now, I can’t help much. Alas."
Wen Yu’s long sigh seemed to draw a conclusion to the entire matter, Guer hesitated to speak but eventually didn’t, simply got up to hug Wen Yu before turning to leave the tent.
After Guer left, Wen Yu’s eyes suddenly lit up.
He sensed a problem here.
...
Initially, Wen Yu thought Guer was seeking him out to ask for help leaving this place and explore outside—this wasn’t difficult, as Ray and Marcus hadn’t set up any internal defenses here.
There’s no issue in leaving; it saves food, which is Marcus’s idea...
The difficulty lies in the inherent external dangers—but these can also be resolved. Wen Yu believed that since Guer had such a request, he certainly had his own secret tactics, seeking him out due to his status as an adult making things easier, among other reasons.
He needed an obvious shield...
Yet in the end, Guer never mentioned this until he left—because Wen Yu was mistaken.
Guer didn’t want him to take him away but had his own organization, with a way to leave, but for some reason hadn’t acted, instead building relations with Wen Yu within the camp.
Moreover, after Wen Yu expressed his "intentions," Guer did not elaborate but turned away.
This implied that Guer had a "superior."
Regarding the arrangement for Number Three, Guer needed to discuss with his superiors in his organization...
Yet Wen Yu’s identity was valid, and his usual performance flawless; regarding the outcome, Wen Yu actually had the answer in his heart.
And by the time the moon was full, this answer was delivered to Wen Yu personally by Guer.
...
"Number 3 Uncle, are you asleep?"
Guer’s voice sounded outside the tent, low and imbued with some enigmatic power, directly reaching Wen Yu’s ears without disturbing anyone else.
Hearing the voice, Wen Yu jumped up, pretending to have just awakened, rubbing his eyes as he gently opened the tent.
"Little Guer, what’s this?"
"Number 3 Uncle, come, follow me."
Guer didn’t say much, just waved to Wen Yu, signaling him to come along.
Wen Yu pretended to be confused, hesitated for a moment, and under Guer’s urgent invitations, quietly followed behind Guer.
The two sneaked like thieves, avoiding the guards, arriving at some corner of the underground warehouse.
"Guer, what’s this?"
"Number 3 Uncle, let me show you something interesting."
Guer whispered mystically, then his hand glowed, as the light flickered, the wall seemed to melt, splitting open.
Watching this, Wen Yu inwardly smirked but put on a shocked expression.
"You’re breaking rules, if Lord Marcus sees this, you’re dead!"
An urgent but concerned voice rose, hearing it, Guer just sneered, saying "He doesn’t care," then plunged into the hole, Wen Yu "gritted teeth and stomped" for a long time outside, still following Guer into the hole.
...
The cave was dark with poor air quality, filled with dust, a regular person entering here might suffocate from the poor air quality in no time.
But the third-level is beyond the ordinary standard.
Guer crawled ahead, his small body unexpectedly agile in such conditions, while Wen Yu just crawled behind, barely keeping up with Guer.
Until the air quality improved, and after a while, the bright moonlight shone on their faces through the exit.
Exiting the cave, Guer waved again, then his short legs quickly moved, rushing towards the distance with Wen Yu closely following.
...
"Where are we going?"
"Guer?"
"Where are you taking me?"
"Guer, Uncle tells you, once you’re found doing this, Lord Marcus might expel you, though life in the settlement isn’t great, it’s the only way to stay alive!"
"Shh! Shut up!"
Not knowing which statement triggered Guer, as soon as Wen Yu spoke, Guer immediately turned, growling at Wen Yu, his face wrinkled up, but it didn’t look childish, instead added a touch of authority.
At this moment, "Number 3 Uncle" was intimidated by Guer’s sudden dominance, shutting his mouth.
The two ran for about half an hour, safely reached a dense woods soon, standing under a large banyan tree.
"Shh... shhh shhh shhh..."
A long-short whistle was heard from Guer’s mouth, soon swaying treetops sound, quickly, three third-level ancient demons appeared on the branches, landing before Guer.
"Young Master!"
These three ancient demons bowed respectfully and greeted Guer.
And behind Guer, Wen Yu slyly squinted his eyes.
"This is?"
Still enquiring in the guise of Number 3 Uncle, and Guer, upon hearing Number 3 Uncle’s slightly tense query, softly turned back, giving a noble salute of the ancient demons.
"Uncle, sorry for deceiving you, but I indeed need your help."
