Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 1466 Fragility (Part 1)

The three people inside the ship were unaware of the gaze from the void. They were just sitting on their chairs with eyes closed for rest, until the Sequence-class powerful expert operating the ship suddenly spoke.

“The Third Sector’s Void Battle Fleet has sent an inquiry, wanting to verify our identity and mission.”

This was a routine inspection by the Third Sector’s Void Battle Fleet—the void of the tiered battleground was basically a no-fly zone. Unless one’s status was extraordinarily high, or in a special situation like Ray’s, no one could escape the surveillance network of the Third Sector’s Void Fleet.

“Leave it to me.”

Sequence Number 82—Howard, the powerful expert, upon hearing this, immediately got up and quickly walked over to the ship’s internal communicator, connecting with the Third Sector’s Void Fleet’s call request.

“We are the Special Ops Team of the Independents Mutual Aid Federation. I am Sequence Number 82, Howard. This operation is a secret mission within the Federation. Here is the order from our president. We earnestly request the Third Sector’s Void Fleet to let us pass.”

While speaking, Howard took a document out from his space ring and placed it in front of the electronic eye. After the video verification, this Void ship unsurprisingly was granted passage.

Although the Yanjing military’s Void Fleet and the Independents Mutual Aid Federation were two different organizations, over the years, the Federation had collaborated quite a bit with the Yanjing military. Given that, and everyone could see that the Federation had a rather extraordinary backing, the Third Sector’s Void Fleet didn’t want to meddle in the Federation’s affairs, especially with an order present.

“Phew!”

Seeing they smoothly passed the inspection, Sequence Number 95—Stuart couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief. He quickly opened a bottle of red wine, throwing his head back to drink it in one go.

“I thought this checkpoint would be more challenging.”

“You knew this checkpoint would be easy to pass. You just wanted an excuse to mooch off my collection.”

Ignoring Stuart, Howard retorted simply, and the three of them returned to an unspoken state until the distant sight of Third Sector Mainland Bloc Number 01864 came into their view.

…

The style of the Independents Mutual Aid Federation was even more direct than Wen Yu had anticipated!

When the ship stopped at the edge of Mainland Bloc Number 01864, Howard, Stuart, and another Sequence-class powerful expert, Sun Ye, disembarked. With just a simple exchange of glances, the three transformed into streaks of light, reaching directly above the First Base of the Rebel Army in an instant.

The First Base of the Rebel Army was not built on the surface; the main part of its structure was deep underground. With the naked eye, the three logically shouldn’t have been able to locate the First Base of the Rebel Army.

But there are means of perception in this world, and they had other channels of information.

Thus, when Howard slowly descended onto the surface above the First Base of the Rebel Army, everything had already been declared over!

“Boom!”

A thunderous explosion sound, akin to an earthquake, resonated. The entire ground shook for a moment, and in the next second, soil churned, layers of dirt lifted, and the entire surface of the First Base of the Rebel Army roiled as if boiling water, incessantly.

The sand and dust rose, transforming into a violent tornado, blowing instantly toward the distance. After all this occurred, the underground base of the Rebel Army was blatantly exposed before the three men.

“Enemy attack!”

The piercing alarm instantly rang out inside the First Base of the Rebel Army. Upon hearing this sound, Wen Yu just awakened, crawling up consciously, only for Guer, who lived next door, to crash through the wall into Wen Yu’s room.

“Uncle!”

Little Guer saw Wen Yu and only had time to shout. Before Guer could make another move, Stuart on the ground had already descended, landing on the exterior wall of the First Base of the Rebel Army.

“Call of Steel!”

Along with Stuart’s voice, he exerted force with both hands, seemingly slow but actually moving quickly, brushing against the steel outer wall. In the next second, the entire First Base of the Rebel Army took a strange shudder. Inside, numerous steel bars burst through the walls autonomously targeting every living entity within, mercilessly turning them into hedgehogs!

Over two years of development had indeed made the First Base of the Rebel Army capable of having a warrior at Peak Level 8, even boasting a few at the Limit Breakthrough Level…

But compared to the three Sequence-class powerful experts, they fell short by a vast margin!

When the disparity in quality reaches a certain extent, quantity becomes a complete joke.

…

Inside the First Base of the Rebel Army, at the moment Stuart’s attack launched, Guer had just grabbed Wen Yu’s arm. His mouth opened as though wanting to say, “Uncle, fight with me!”

However, in the next second, the newly ignited flame of resistance was utterly drenched by Stuart’s Call of Steel!

The room’s walls suddenly exploded, revealing numerous steel bars bearing their fierce fangs. They spun free from bondage, howling toward Wen Yu and Guer.

As the “only” Demon Fiend at the Limit Breakthrough Level in the entire Rebel Army base, Guer not only blocked Stuart’s attack but even shielded Wen Yu amidst such a massive “rain of swords.”

But that was all he could do.

His perception spread out, and Guer immediately sensed that within the First Base of the Rebel Army, more than half of the Demon Tribe members vanished within a second, and in the second second, ninety percent were gone!

When Guer attempted to step out, trying to “repel” the enemies in the third second, within his perception range, the only ones remaining were himself and Number 3 Uncle…

The Rebel Army, which Guer had placed such high hopes on, appeared so fragile against the hands of three Sequence-class powerful experts!

…

His steps came to a halt.

Guer looked up blankly. He could sense above that the three like suns emitted a dense aura of powerful experts.

The abrupt change within a short time left Guer unable to respond until Wen Yu wrapped his arms around Guer, rolling on the ground to dodge the next attack from the Call of Steel. Only then did Guer snap back to reality.

Uncontrolled tears slid down, but Guer knew this was not the time for hesitation. After climbing up from the ground, Guer grabbed Wen Yu, rushing toward the lift without looking back.

“We need to find Balu, that’s the only hope for survival!”

This thought swirled in Guer’s mind. Little did he know, the savior he sought was the very culprit behind all of this.

…

“Is it done?”

Upon hearing Howard’s voice, Stuart slowly withdrew his hands.

“There are still two left, one of whom is the target. The target is protecting the other person. If I had a few more tens of seconds, I reckon I could eliminate him. But I don’t think we need to be that troubled, do we?”

With that, Stuart waved his hand again. As his skill activated, the main body of the First Base of the Rebel Army split from the middle, revealing a massive crevice leading straight down to the bottom. Within this gap, Howard and the others could even see that ghastly pale, slippery skin and smell the rising stench from below.
