Chapter 524 - 249: Killing the Yong’an River Mother Empress, Shen Jie Reaches Tier Three

Chapter 524: Chapter 249: Killing the Yong’an River Mother Empress, Shen Jie Reaches Tier Three

The strength of Qin Hu’s soldiers had grown rapidly, as they had reaped massive benefits during the breakout battle.

Among these over one hundred Tier Two Awakeners alone, there were forty at the Tier Two Late Stage and more than ten who had reached the Perfection stage.

Moreover, this wasn’t the full strength of the Southern Corps. Lin Feng estimated that Qin Hu had stationed at least another hundred or so Tier Two Early Stage Awakeners at the Beihai Town camp to continue patrols and guard duties.

Therefore, aside from their top-tier combatants, the overall strength of Qin Hu’s Southern Corps was actually no weaker than the Salvation Army’s.

However, their foundations were incomparable. The entire Jin City Base under Lin Feng’s rule, including civilian survivors, still had fewer people than Qin Hu had soldiers.

But compared to the large corps in the other three directions, they were undoubtedly much stronger.

Although the battle to defend the Capital was arduous and perilous, it had laid a solid foundation for this team. A large number of Awakeners at Tier One Late Stage Perfection only needed the right opportunity to complete a second Tier Jump Promotion and become Tier Two experts.

At this moment, a team of as many as 10,000 Awakeners set out in a mighty procession of armored personnel carriers, heading toward the Yong’an River to the northwest.

After traveling for about thirty kilometers, the group successfully arrived at the outskirts of the target Zerg Race’s territory.

Lin Feng and the others lay prone on the back of a hillside, gazing at the Zerg stronghold three to four kilometers away, on the opposite bank of the Yong’an River.

They hadn’t brought Ling Yi this time. On one hand, she needed to remain in the hatching Nest to continue her research and prepare for the Realm Trial that was scheduled for this afternoon.

On the other hand, with Yunxia Ridge now occupied, Lin Feng didn’t feel at ease leaving without a Tier Three entity to stand guard.

Besides, this time they were only dealing with a Tier Three Early Stage Mother Empress. With the support of the Reproductive Armor Mecha, Lin Feng could easily take down even a Level 33 Early-Stage Perfection Mother Empress.

Soon, under Qin Hu’s orders, 10,000 fully armed Tier One Awakeners, led by more than twenty Tier Two Awakeners, spread out in all directions to set up their assault formation.

Meanwhile, Lin Feng poured the Organic Nutrient Liquid he had brought with the team into the Reproductive Armor Mecha.

This fifty-kilometer journey had already consumed nearly one-tenth of its energy reserves.

With such outrageous energy consumption, changing its method of energy storage and utilization was imperative for dealing with future joint attacks from multiple Mother Empresses, as well as Tier Three Swarms numbering in the hundreds or thousands.

After pouring two hundred kilograms of "fuel" into its back, Lin Feng entered the mecha and activated combat mode.

Once all preparations were complete and the largest entrance to the Hive was confirmed, the Reproductive Armor Mecha raised its Chainsaw Sword and issued a powerful, resounding command to charge:

"Kill!"

Following behind him were thirty-five Genetic Warriors wearing Flying Tiger Armor and wielding Electromagnetic Cannons, as well as over eighty of Qin Hu’s own warriors.

Under the intimidating effect of the Reproductive Armor Mecha’s Might of the King Zerg, the more than one hundred Tier Two experts quickly crossed the turbulent Yong’an River and reached the opposite bank.

At the same time, the ten thousand ordinary, fully-armed Awakeners lying in ambush in a surrounding semicircle sprang into action. Led by Tier Two Awakeners, they rushed to attack the nearby Zerg Race, using their cannons to strike the Swarm on the opposite riverbank.

Their charge halted halfway up the mountainside. Taking advantage of the low-tier Zergs’ lack of ranged attacks, they fired their weapons in a parabolic arc to maximize their range and suppress the Swarm’s offensive.

This way, even if a Swarm ten thousand strong were to cross the river, they would first have to climb the mountainside to engage the humans.

Fighting from high ground to low—it was a tried-and-true tactic.

Beyond that, their main purpose was to tie up any nearby Swarms that were rushing in as reinforcements.

Because at this very moment, the assault team led by Lin Feng had already charged to the entrance of the cave.

As planned, some of the Tier Two Late Stage Perfection experts from the Genetic Combat Team, in coordination with Qin Hu’s Tier Two Early and Middle Stage Genetic Warriors, defended the area around the entrance, forming a second line of defense.

The remaining nearly seventy Tier Two Late-stage Warriors continued to follow Lin Feng deep into the Underground Hive, responsible for clearing the path and securing the tunnel entrances along the way.

This group of warriors was safer, and they could also kill more Tier Two Tiger Spine Zergs.

Lin Feng activated his Mind Sensing Skill. Paired with the Reproductive Armor Mecha’s cerebral control center, his vast Spiritual Energy quickly swept through the entire Hive.

The twenty-kilometer surface detection range was reduced tenfold underground, but the resulting two-kilometer detection depth was still enough to locate the First-Level Hive in the deepest part.

With three scans in just ten seconds, Lin Feng confirmed the location of the Mother Empress’s Nest.

He no longer needed to worry about interference from nearby Tier Two Zergs. Even a Tier Two Peak Tiger Spine Zerg couldn’t survive a single clash with the Reproductive Armor Mecha.

Maintaining a deliberate pace, he advanced. Within a mere ten minutes, the remaining ten or so Tier Two Late Stage Perfection Genetic Warriors followed the Reproductive Armor Mecha and Shen Jie into the deepest underground Nest.

A few Magnetic Storm Bombs were fired in succession, causing innumerable casualties among the Low-tier Zerg Swarm inside the cavern.

After clearing the area, Lin Feng took the lead, charging inside with a near-supersonic burst of speed.

In his assault, he tightly gripped the Hunter Emperor’s Chainsaw Sword in his right hand. He slashed through the Tier Two Late Stage Tiger Spine Zergs blocking his path, instantly splitting them all in two.

At that moment, the Mother Empress’s furious shriek, accompanied by invisible Spiritual Spikes formed from Spiritual Power, descended upon the Reproductive Armor Mecha.

But thanks to the protection of the Mass-Energy Shield, these invisible Spiritual Spikes disintegrated in an instant.

Seeing that its Spiritual Attacks had little effect, the Level 33 Early-Stage Perfection Mother Empress acted decisively. It summoned a large Tier Two Swarm to block the way while simultaneously releasing more Red-Armored Beetles to carry it away in a hasty escape.
