Chapter 557: Chapter 260: Dragon Lizard and Dragon Race, Blue Star’s Pioneers (2)
"Only another of the same tier can resist and break free from the Complete Realm Power unleashed by a Tier Four Life Form. Even a Tier Three Peak powerhouse, once targeted by a Tier Four Life Form, has absolutely no chance of escape."
"This qualitative leap in life-level is even greater than the gap between Tier One and Tier Three."
"However, while they can’t escape being devoured by the Realm King, that doesn’t mean they can’t survive for a time."
Lin Feng recalled what Ling Yi had told him about the characteristics of the World Zerg Race back at the air force base and quickly understood.
"So you’re saying this group of Dragon Race creatures that reached Blue Star... they’re all still alive inside the Realm King’s stomach?"
Ling Yi grunted in affirmation, then corrected him:
"To be precise, it’s a Folding Space within the Realm King’s abdomen. A multi-layered space large enough to contain a small country."
"Furthermore, it’s inhabited by countless members of the Zerg Race who can eliminate any survivors from that Cosmic Battleship. Add to that the negative effects of the Realm King’s Space Realm, and even an outside Tier Three Life Form would struggle to survive for long in there."
"So, if the Dragon Race in the Battleship wanted to survive, they had to implant Zerg Race genes. A Cosmic Civilization capable of developing across a Fixed Star System wouldn’t lack that kind of biotechnology."
"After absorbing Zerg Race genes, they could pass trials in the Mental Realm World to steal the Zerg Race’s legacy. At the same time, they could perfect their disguises to avoid harassment from the Swarm and find a chance to escape the Realm King’s space."
"That makes perfect logical sense!"
"And that silver Battleship is their return vehicle. Before their descent, the Zerg Race hadn’t detected any High-tier Life Forms on Blue Star."
"This Dragon Race, with its lizard bloodline, must have come from outer space!"
Lin Feng nodded. The flash of joy in his eyes from learning the truth was fleeting. After all, it was still unknown whether these beings could halt the Zerg Race’s invasion.
Besides, no one knew how the Lizard Dragon Race, as the former rulers of Blue Star...
...would view humanity now.
But the immediate problem was the outcome of the Dragon Race’s encounter with Qin Hu.
"Forget it. Let’s find Qin Hu first. We don’t even know if this Dragon Race can escape the Realm King’s body. A Tier Four Life Form’s digestive system should be more than enough to deal with them."
"Can you confirm their numbers?"
Lin Feng asked.
At this time, the other nine Genetic Warriors had completely swept away the obsidian volcanic ash covering the ground.
This revealed an open area with a total of eight claw prints.
Ling Yi stepped forward, observing them for a moment before giving his conclusion:
"Judging by the different sizes of the prints and the depth of their impressions, these tracks were left by three large, bipedal lizards."
"Their strength is around Tier Two Peak, similar to our own. One of them captured Qin Hu directly."
"After abducting him, they stuck to the edge of the territory covered by the Slaughter Realm, and eventually headed... there..."
Everyone followed Ling Yi’s gaze, looking somewhat puzzled.
"The prints were left here because the lizards stomped down with great force. To crush Obsidian and sink this deep, a half-meter-long foot would need to exert at least several tens of tons of force."
Ling Yi added this explanation because the Genetic Warriors hadn’t found any other deep footprints.
But Ling Yi, with his biological knowledge, could detect the special pheromones left in the prints, allowing him to roughly determine their direction of approach and departure.
Lin Feng nodded and said to the group:
"Let’s go. Be careful. We’re no longer facing the low-intelligence Zerg Race, but forerunners of Blue Star whose level of evolution and civilization far surpasses our own."
"If they evacuated Blue Star sixty-five million years ago due to some accident, then in their eyes, we’re no different from newly-sentient monkeys."
"Don’t let your guard down!"
Everyone nodded in unison.
Ling Yi heard this and added:
"The Zerg Race aren’t brainless. The Spine Zergs have just been intentionally neutered. A complete Tier Two Peak Tiger Spine Zerg, while not a genius—about average human intelligence—is certainly not the helpless cannon fodder you see out there."
Lin Feng nodded. He knew that the Spiritual Attribute wasn’t directly related to IQ.
A higher Spiritual Attribute means a faster processing speed for the brain, but you can’t know what you don’t know.
Even a genius with an IQ of 250 can’t solve all the mysteries and ultimate laws of the Cosmos.
However, a special Awakener like Ling Shuyan, whose evolution is in her Brain Domain, might one day be able to raise the upper limits of human technology through painstaking research.
She could lead humanity into the Interstellar Era.
But first, they had to resolve the chaotic mess of internal strife and external threats. At the very least, they had to drive out all the invading Zerg Race.
Soon, guided by Ling Yi, the group traveled seventy or eighty kilometers along the edge of the Slaughter Realm until another active volcano gradually came into view.
The Mental Realm that formed this volcano was, very fortunately, not Slaughter, but the Unyielding Realm, which was familiar to them all.
"What a shame. If Qin Hu had managed to avoid the influence of the Slaughter Realm, he might have been able to make it here on his own."
As the group moved away from the edge of the Slaughter Realm and Ling Yi retracted the Spiritual Isolation Shield that had been protecting the nine of them, one of the team members, feeling the lingering effects, couldn’t help but make the comment.
Even the faintest trace of the crimson Slaughter Energy made the Genetic Warriors feel deeply uncomfortable. A bloodthirsty impulse welled up inside them, coaxed forth by a persistent, prickling itch on their skin.
