Chapter 564: Chapter 263: Conclusion of the Transaction, Speedrunning the Trial, The End
After watching Lin Feng leave, the unease that had been lingering in Ling Yi’s chest ever since she stepped into the Land of the End surged up once again.
It didn’t stem from the harsh environment of the Land of the End.
But rather, the hidden truth behind its creation...
A truth that was likely far more than what she had let on.
To meet the advancement needs of a mere tens of thousands of Peak Tiger Spine Zergs on Blue Star, there was no need for a Land of the End on this scale, and certainly no need to use an entire Tier Four Spine King.
A Tier Four Life Form was the first step to becoming a Cosmic Life...
Containing the accumulated evolution of a race over tens or even hundreds of millions of years, this supremely compressed essence was one of the rarest treasures in the cosmos.
Therefore, a precious Tier Four Life Form was extremely useful, even as a corpse.
A place for Realm Inheritance could clearly be created with just a sharp leg or a piece of flesh, so why go to all the trouble of burying the Mad King’s entire skeleton in the deepest part of Blue Star’s underground?
And in doing so, create this vast Land of the End before her eyes, a place that should only exist on Ceres...
If the goal was merely to deal with insignificant humans, there was clearly no reason to release the three complete Mental Realms of the Spine Zerg Race.
Because this was one of the fundamental conditions for resurrecting or creating a new Spine King.
And to the Mother Empress, this was also a threat.
Thus, Ling Yi immediately thought of the most special human she knew: Lin Feng.
He was a mysterious Awakener, and his Superpower was the only one with any connection to High Tier Divine Power.
’Perhaps this inexplicable Land of the End was prepared specially for him.’
That was why Ling Yi wanted nothing more than for Lin Feng to leave this place as soon as possible and avoid being tainted by any more of the Land of the End’s Energy.
Beyond that, if she could also borrow the power of the Dragon Race to sever the Land of the End’s invasion of the Trial World, that would be for the best.
At that moment, the Dragon Lizard Captain arrived, and their eyes met at the edge of the Slaughter Realm.
A wave from an unknown Mental Realm emanated from the Dragon Lizard Captain, resisting the encroachment of the surrounding crimson Energy.
It walked up to Ling Yi and said:
"You are not human. More accurately, regardless of whether you were once a native life form of Blue Star, you have now fused with these filthy Alien Zergs..."
A cold smile touched Ling Yi’s lips. She didn’t bother to argue.
"So what..."
"You still have to go through me to find a way to escape."
Although the Dragon Race held no fondness for the Mammalia known as humans, that didn’t mean they would acknowledge the Alien Zerg Race invading the Solar System, regardless of their power.
On the contrary, the Dragon Race utterly despised these outsiders for plundering the Biomass of their Ancestral Star.
To them, crossing tens of thousands of light-years to return to their ancestral land was a glorious grand expedition in itself.
But now, the Alien Zergs’ interference had caused their gene recovery plan to fail, which made the Dragon Lizard Captain doubly wary of the half-human, half-zerg creature before it.
However, the being before it had already reached Tier Three. The spiritual consciousness that had descended into the Land of the End was merely a clone.
Even capturing it would pose no threat to her real body in the Real World.
Suppressing its displeasure, the Dragon Lizard Captain continued:
"So, what will it take for you to reveal the way to escape?"
Ling Yi slowly raised a hand, pointing to the towering, eruption-shaped volcano behind the group:
"With your current strength, can you deal with it?"
The Dragon Lizard Captain’s vertical pupils narrowed to slits as it looked in the direction she pointed. It immediately refused:
"Impossible!"
"The fluctuations of this Mental Realm are intense, and its potential has reached the Divine Domain Level. It can also very easily cloud the mind..."
"Even if I gathered a hundred Dragon Race warriors under a High-Tier Commander and managed to deal with it, we would still suffer heavy losses. We might even permanently lose many of our members."
"Name another price. We have no interest in collecting such a bizarre and dangerous Alien Zerg Mental Realm."
Ling Yi sighed softly, a hint of regret on her face.
A race like the Dragon Race, which had been a Cosmic Civilization for many years, had little interest in the Mental Realms of other races, especially those completely unrelated to their own.
In fact, driven by racial pride and confidence, they had an innate aversion to and fear of foreign genes, wanting to prevent any contamination of their own genetic purity.
After careful consideration, Ling Yi conceded and offered the next best thing:
"Then deal with the ordinary Spine Zerg Swarms that have materialized around the Slaughter Volcano, especially the Tiger Spine Zergs at the foot of the mountain."
"Do that, and I will tell you the specific method to escape the Dimensional Space in the abdomen of the Tier Four Realm King..."
The Dragon Lizard Captain’s eyes flickered as it considered the feasibility of this transaction.
Ling Yi wasn’t in a hurry. After all, this was just tying up a loose end from their previous negotiations.
The Dragon Lizard Race wanted a more detailed escape plan, so naturally, they had to pay a corresponding price.
After a moment of hesitation, the draconic leader nodded.
The Dragon Lizard Captain finally agreed:
"Fine. Remember your words. Give me one Blue Star day—24 hours."
With that, the Dragon Lizard Captain vanished.
But Ling Yi could sense that many members of the Dragon Lizard Squad were still hidden in the shadows, watching her.
She paid them no mind, her gaze turning instead to the edge. The crimson Slaughter was growing deeper, guided by some unknown force, accelerating its invasion into the Trial World where Lin Feng’s group was.
This sight only made Ling Yi more uneasy.
In truth, she hadn’t lied to Lin Feng; she had merely hidden some of her speculations, as she wasn’t yet certain about them.
Although Ling Yi also knew that as long as she dealt with the Slaughter King Spine Zerg within the active volcano before her, she could completely halt the Land of the End’s invasion.
