Chapter 43: First SSS Level Opponent

James gave out a roar but before he could unleash his green smoke into the surroundings, his body began to rip apart instead.

His limbs, head and chest were torn off from within in an instant.

Splash.

Blood inside his body splashed out into the surroundings.

The blood flew in the air as if it was alive.

Then, it changed its form into a sharp spear and it shot at Riley.

But before it could reach him, a slit appeared in front of Riley and a portal opened up from it.

Splatter!

The sharp spear didn’t stop but it burst out into droplets of blood in the next moment.

Some of the blood got absorbed into Alex’s portal while some of the blood shot onto the ground and some continued their trajectory towards Terry and Brian.

The ground that was hit by the blood had numerous holes in it when the droplets of blood penetrated through it.

Somehow the blood had hardened enough to be able to do so.

Meanwhile, for the blood droplets that shot towards Terry and Brian, both of them leaped away from where they were to dodge them.

But after they did so, the blood droplets changed their direction and went after Terry and Brian.

Brian frowned and tried to think of a way out from these blood droplets, that were like homing missiles.

"Terry, come to me and use your ability to shield us from it." he shouted at Terry and Terry nodded his head.

With a lunge, Terry got next to Brian, and he raised his hands up into the air immediately.

When the blood droplets got near again, a metallic wall rose from the ground in front of him and Brian in the nick of time.

Dang!

The blood droplets pelted onto the metallic wall, causing numerous metallic rings to echo in the open area and they created many potholes onto metallic wall after they’ve penetrated half-way through it.

Professor Charles wanted to make his next move but Alex was also ready.

A slit had appeared out of nowhere right behind Professor Charles and opened up into a portal.

In the next moment, a torrent that consisted of bubbles, fireballs and sharp metallic shot out at him from within.

When Professor Charles sensed the heat from the fireball that was coming from behind, he quickly dodged to the side.

However, the portal was too close to him, and even with his physique as an SSS Level Awakened, he wasn’t able to dodge the attack successfully.

Boom!

One of the fireballs hit onto the shoulder of Professor Charles and a chunk of flesh was blown off by it.

Professor Charles took a glance at his injury and he gave out a roar.

Blood flowed out from his wound and it started to cover his shoulder and body like an armor of some sort.

He glanced around to see who had attacked him and he stopped when he saw Alex in the other entrance to the open area by the side.

Using his sense, he could sense that Alex was much more dangerous and powerful than Riley and the others.

Professor Charles narrowed his eyes and thought for a moment.

He decided to lunge at Riley instead.

By now, Riley had come back to his senses, and the irrational fear that just now was gone.

When he saw Professor Charles coming at him, bubbles appeared right in front of him, ready to be used against Professor Charles.

"Argh!" He didn’t have a chance to do so.

Plop.

Riley felt intense pain when the blood in him started to flow in reverse and he dropped to his knees.

"Riley!" Terry shouted and he hurled a few of his sharp metallic rods at Professor Charles.

Thud.

The sharp metallic rods lodged themselves onto the armor that was on Professor Charles’s body but they weren’t able to penetrate through it.

Brian wanted to use his fireballs but Professor Charles was standing too close to Riley.

He had no choice but to use his fire pillars at him.

Whoosh!

Pillars of fire rose from the ground and they moved towards Professor Charles.

Professor Charles frowned and he leaped away from the pillars of fire.

Immediately, when he was away, Riley could feel the pain go away when the flow of his blood turned back to normal.

"Don’t let him get close to you!" Alex shouted when he saw what had happened.

Professor Charles had a way to exact pain at someone within a close distance like what had happened with Riley, so it was best that they dealt with Professor Charles from a distance.

After he shouted, Riley quickly got back on his feet and he got away from where Professor Charles and got together with Terry and Brian.

Professor Charles turned around and stared at Alex.

Taking on his friends instead of going after Alex might have been a wrong decision that he took.

But it was too late now.

Professor Charles bent his knees and he got ready to lunge at Alex but the annoying slit appeared right in front of him again.

He knew what would happen next and he leaped to the side instead.

However, after he did so, the pillars of fire that Brian had created, were on to him.

The heat from the fire started to scorch his skin and smoke started to rise from his armor that was made of blood.

It wasn’t enough to disintegrate the armor with the heat but it was able to make bits of it fall off.

And the bits from the armor that had fallen off turned back into thick blood again.

But it was not too long before these puddles of blood were evaporated by the pillars of fire.

Professor Charles rolled to the side to get away from the pillars of fire but Terry was also ready for him.

Huge blocks of metal came at him from above and he tried to leap backwards from it.

But Alex had been waiting all along.

A slit appeared at the back of Professor Charles and it opened up into a portal in the next moment.

Another torrent of fireballs, sharp metallic rods and bubbles shot out from it towards the back of Professor Charles.
