Chapter 211: Varkhaz’s Captains Advanced!

Seeing Varkhaz’s captains make their move, Max finally turned serious.

The ten captains’ clear targets were not only the demon hunters, but mainly the backline—Seraphina, Danny, and himself.

When Scylla and Ignis ran past the demon hunters, killing some along the way, Max summoned Fiora and Darius.

Ignis, on the other hand, continued forward.

Ignis had a highly refined warrior’s physique rather than the monstrous bulk of Kragoth or Kaelgor.

His skin was dark red, with glowing orange lines running across his arms and chest. Two swept-back horns emerged from his forehead.

He wore black demonic armor covering his torso, shoulders, and legs. His right arm was covered in a permanent layer of burning demonic flame.

He carried a massive crimson greatsword whose blade constantly emitted sparks.

Unlike the other demons, Ignis maintained an almost entirely humanoid appearance.

He was as tall as Darius, and upon seeing the Radiant Knight, Ignis’s desire for battle was ignited.

He believed that Darius was one of the knights from Max’s disposal who had killed his brother.

As Darius rushed toward him with increased momentum, Ignis issued an Infernal Challenge to Darius.

Perceiving the surge of strength overflowing through his body, he was astonished.

Darius had clearly been stronger than him before the Infernal Challenge.

The Infernal Challenge allowed Ignis to become significantly stronger than Darius.

At the same time, his reaction speed increased, his attack accuracy improved, his defensive instincts sharpened, and outside interference became less effective.

Ignis was nearly unbeatable in a duel.

In fact, his race was the strongest when it came to one-on-one combat.

It was precisely why he was utterly shocked to learn that his brother had been killed by a fleeing C-rank human.

Her horns curved backward like the blades of a crescent moon, while her eyes had narrow crimson pupils.

Her body constantly released thin trails of black smoke, causing her outline to appear distorted.

She possessed unusually long fingers ending in black, claw-like nails.

Rather than heavy armor, Scylla wore fragments of hardened ash around her shoulders, waist, and thighs.

Her most distinctive feature was her smoke-like lower body, which occasionally dispersed into ash before reforming.

Staring at the Radiant Knight, who also fixed her golden irises on her, she became infuriated.

Since she’s that guy’s slave, I might as well start with her.

She brandished her black, claw-like nails and vanished.

The demon hunters who had been keeping an eye on her were startled.

They could not sense her presence at all.

Threatened by her sudden disappearance, they became distracted, but Jeremiah’s command immediately brought them back to their senses, allowing them to block the demons’ attacks just in time.

Scylla, on the other hand, appeared behind Fiora and swiped her claws toward her back.

Just as she thought she had finally caught her, Fiora vanished and emerged behind her.

Scylla was startled.

Fiora’s Flash Step had taken her by surprise.

However, she immediately twisted her body unnaturally and parried Fiora’s rapier with ease.

They clashed with such extreme agility and speed that it became difficult for the demon hunters who occasionally glanced at them to keep up.

They were awestruck.

Even Seraphina and the Holy Knight were startled.

The demons that Max’s summons were battling were B-rank demons—Greater Demons!

Yet they fought against them on equal terms, although Darius appeared to be at a disadvantage.

Even then, Darius was barely wounded, and he did not even execute any skills, relying solely on blocking and evading Ignis’s attacks.

The Holy Knight gauged Fiora’s strength and couldn’t help but wonder whether he could defeat her in a duel.
