Chapter 189: Battle, King-level Beast

Chapter 189: Chapter 189: Battle, King-level Beast

Look!

Gao Zhen and the others looked toward the dark figure!

They all recognized it in an instant!

This was...!

Wasn’t this Ye Yunyi?!

A member of the Guard Army watched, his mouth twitching. "Lord Ye! It’s Lord Ye!"

The other members’ eyes all went wide, unable to believe what they were seeing!

They had never imagined it.

That Ye Yunyi had actually become this terrifyingly powerful!

With a single strike, he had actually pierced the Fire Flood Dragon’s Scale Armor!

One had to know, even Gao Zhen, a Late-Star Stage expert, hadn’t managed to do that!

Everyone’s heart trembled. ’So Lord Ye is truly as terrifying as the legends say!’

No wonder he had even captivated the Eighth King General!

The Qingling Roc looked at the Fire Flood Dragon, shrieked again, and circled it!

In an instant, it blew away much of the white smoke in the area!

A biting gale stirred!

Many of the surrounding flames were extinguished by the blast!

A gentle breeze might have fanned the flames, but the Qingling Roc’s frigid gale instantly snuffed them out!

The Fire Flood Dragon looked at the Qingling Roc.

It also let out a roar!

Then!

It lashed out with its claws, trying to grab it.

But it was all in vain.

The Qingling Roc suddenly ascended, reaching an altitude the Fire Flood Dragon couldn’t touch.

Aboard the Qingling Roc, Ye Yunyi looked down at the Fire Flood Dragon.

He narrowed his eyes.

’So that’s what this is!’

’To think that the mountain peak had birthed such an Exotic Beast!’

’Judging by its appearance, its aura, its sheer size...’

’It must be a King-level Beast, no doubt about it!’

Then!

Ye Yunyi drew his bow and nocked an arrow again!

SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH!

Instantly!

Arrows shot toward the Fire Flood Dragon one after another!

Every single strike was able to pierce the Fire Flood Dragon’s Scale Armor.

Stabbing directly into its flesh!

Ye Yunyi was aiming for the Fire Flood Dragon’s face, but a beast that had reached the King Level was smart enough to know his intentions.

It defended frantically!

However.

Its rage was gradually building!

It looked at Ye Yunyi, its fury boiling over!

Its body shot into the air, but it couldn’t reach the Qingling Roc.

It could only come crashing back down!

It landed on the mountainside.

In that instant, the earth shook violently!

Like an earthquake!

「Not far away.」

A group of Patriarchs and high-ranking officers of the Alliance Guard Army were rushing over, when suddenly—

They felt the ground tremble!

They looked into the distance!

However, their line of sight was currently blocked by giant trees.

"What’s happening up ahead?!"

"I don’t know. Did the volcano erupt again?"

A Patriarch beside him spoke, his mood souring as he looked at the dense forest. "We’re completely blocked."

"Never mind, let’s just hurry over and see. Lord Ye should have already arrived."

"Gao Zhen brought a team over earlier. It seems the situation isn’t looking good, or they wouldn’t have been held up here for so long."

As they spoke, the group burst out of the dense woods.

Without the giant trees blocking their way, their field of view opened up considerably.

They then looked into the distance.

And froze!

Even the Exotic Beasts they were riding stopped in their tracks, staring at the scene ahead in fear!

Their bodies began to tremble!

One Patriarch stared at the distant figure of the Fire Flood Dragon.

After a long moment, he finally stammered, "Wh-what... what kind of Exotic Beast is that?!"

No one else knew either.

They had no answer.

But they knew one thing for certain: an Exotic Beast like that had to be a King-level Beast!

King Level!

The term stunned them. This was the first time any of them had ever encountered a King-level Beast!

And it had to appear at this critical juncture!

The Eighth King General wasn’t at the barrier right now.

How were they supposed to fight this Exotic Beast?!

’This... this is probably a no-win situation!’

"Look! That’s... Lord Ye!"

A Patriarch shouted as he took in the scene!

The others also looked ahead.

They noticed the numerous wounds already on the Fire Flood Dragon’s body.

Blood was flowing from them.

’It seems Lord Ye has already wounded it!’

"Go, let’s hurry over and help!"

A high-ranking officer said, and everyone quickly rushed forward.

Before they arrived...

They came across Gao Zhen, who was being carried to a safe area by a group of men.

They looked at Gao Zhen’s battered state.

One of the officers froze.

"What happened, Gao Zhen?!"

"Vice General Gao fought the Fire Flood Dragon and ended up like this."

Someone next to him explained.

Gao Zhen’s face flushed with embarrassment upon hearing this.

’After all, what I just did couldn’t even be called a fight.’

’I was taken out in a single move!’

’If Lord Ye hadn’t arrived just in time, I’d probably have been completely annihilated!’

Meanwhile, the newly arrived Patriarchs looked at Gao Zhen’s condition.

Their legs immediately felt weak.

After all, they knew Gao Zhen’s strength.

Late-Star Stage!

Even he had ended up like this.

With their strength at only the Early-Star and Mid-Star Stages...

’How could we possibly stand a chance?!’

BOOM!

Just as they were thinking this, a massive explosion echoed from not far away!

The Fire Flood Dragon was chasing the Qingling Roc.

Then, its claws slammed directly onto a small mountain nearby!

With one strike of its claw!

The entire mountain trembled violently!

It was almost smashed to pieces!

Falling rocks and uprooted plants tumbled madly down the slope!

Where the Fire Flood Dragon’s claw landed, a giant, searing brand was formed!

The earth and rock in that spot began to melt!

This showed the true power of the Fire Flood Dragon!

"We probably can’t handle this. The only thing we can do now is lure the Fire Flood Dragon elsewhere, notify the Eighth King General immediately, and buy as much time as we can. Every minute counts."

"If this thing reaches the barrier, it’ll be a cataclysmic disaster!"

As these words were exchanged, even the Patriarchs nodded in agreement.

They were right!

If an Exotic Beast like this were to reach the Cyan Ink Barrier, it would truly be a cataclysmic disaster!

Even if the Cyan Ink Barrier was a First Line Barrier, it wouldn’t be able to withstand it!

A few men then departed to notify the Eighth King General.

But everyone understood that they had no idea where the Eighth King General was right now!

Just as they were lost in a daze!

They saw a figure leap down from the Qingling Roc!

Flying directly toward the Fire Flood Dragon!

This...!

"Has Lord Ye gone mad?!"

Gao Zhen watched and muttered to himself!

「Meanwhile.」

Ye Yunyi stared at the Fire Flood Dragon, Battle Axe in hand, pushing all his Skills to their absolute limit!

Even his skin began to glow with a metallic sheen!

He stared at the Fire Flood Dragon!

And brought his Battle Axe down in a sudden chop!

SCHLICK!

CRACK!

A heavy, powerful chop from Ye Yunyi!

This time, Ye Yunyi felt it too!

’It’s so tough!’

Even with his Tier Four Battle Axe, its scales didn’t part like a hot knife through butter!

’But it was only just a bit harder to cut, that’s all!’

ROAR!

The Fire Flood Dragon was shocked that Ye Yunyi could cleave through its Scale Armor in an instant!

Instantly, it swiped its claws at Ye Yunyi!

Ye Yunyi dodged in a flash, landing with one foot on the Fire Flood Dragon’s claw!

He then arrived before the Fire Flood Dragon’s eye!

Ye Yunyi looked at the pupil, which was almost as large as he was.

A cold smile touched the corners of his mouth.

Then, he brought his Battle Axe down with brutal force!
