Oliver leaned in, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to the inside of her knee. Then another, higher. His hands stayed firm on her thighs, gently guiding them a little wider as he settled more fully between them.

April’s fingers tightened on the edge of the bench. The library was quiet except for the soft rustle of fabric and the faint sound of her own uneven breathing. Oliver’s dark hair brushed against her skin as he continued upward, kissing a slow, deliberate path along the sensitive inner curve of her thigh. Every touch was measured, almost reverent, as if he were mapping her.

When his mouth finally reached her entrance, April’s breath left her in a soft, startled sound.

Oliver didn’t rush. He started with light, exploratory strokes of his tongue, learning the shape of her, the places that made her hips twitch. One of his hands slid up to rest against her lower stomach, steadying her, while the other remained on her thigh, his thumb stroking slow circles. He paid attention to every small reaction—every quiet inhale, every subtle shift of her body—and adjusted accordingly.

April’s head tipped back against the bench. Her fingers found their way into his hair, not pulling, just holding on. The sensation built gradually, warm and precise, until her thighs began to tremble around him. Oliver’s tongue circled, then pressed more firmly, finding a rhythm that drew a low, involuntary moan from her throat.

"Oliver..." she whispered, voice unsteady.

He hummed softly against her in response, the vibration sending another spark of heat through her. His focus never wavered. He treated her pleasure the same way he treated everything else—with quiet intensity and complete concentration—until the tension coiling low in her belly tightened past the point of control.

April’s back arched. A sharp, breathless cry escaped her as the release washed over her in warm, shuddering waves. Oliver stayed with her through it, gentling his mouth only when her body began to relax, pressing one last soft kiss against her before lifting his head.

His glasses were slightly askew again. A faint flush colored his cheekbones. He looked up at her from between her knees, dark eyes searching her face with quiet satisfaction.

April’s chest rose and fell quickly. Her fingers were still loosely tangled in his hair. For a long moment she could only stare at him, cheeks flushed, lips parted.

"...You really did study," she managed, voice soft and a little dazed.

A rare, genuine smile curved Oliver’s mouth. He rose just enough to press a gentle kiss to the inside of her thigh once more, then carefully eased her dress back down.

"I told you I was confident," he murmured.

He retrieved her discarded underwear and helped her slip them back on with the same careful precision he had used to remove them. When he finally stood, he offered her his hand.

April took it, letting him pull her to her feet. Her legs felt a little unsteady. Oliver’s arm settled lightly around her waist, steadying her without comment.

The library was still quiet. Outside the tall windows, morning light continued to filter in, untouched by what had just happened on the velvet bench.

Oliver adjusted his glasses, the clinical composure slowly settling back over his features—though the softness in his eyes remained.

"Are you alright?" he asked quietly.

April looked up at him, still flushed, and gave a small, breathless nod.

"Yes," she said. Then, after a beat, a faint smile touched her lips. "Very."

Oliver adjusted his glasses once more, the familiar, composed doctor settling back into place, though the subtle warmth in his eyes lingered as he kept a steadying hand on her waist.

"Now," April said softly, taking a slow breath as her pulse finally settled, "it’s time I gave you your official assignment."

Oliver tilted his head slightly, his dark eyes sharpening behind his wire-rimmed frames. "My assignment?"

The System window flickered into her vision, glowing translucent blue in the quiet library air:

[Target Identified: Oliver Baxter]

Trust Value: 100% (Maximum Threshold Reached)

System Prompt:Would you like to assign a Class to this Target?

April went silent.

Unlike Samuel—whose 110% Loyalty score had triggered a formal list of System suggestions she had carefully chosen from—her men were different. Whenever she assigned a Class to one of them, the System didn’t offer options.

Instead, a strange, almost certain answer echoed in her mind, instinctively drawing out the exact role that suited their fundamental nature. It was an uncanny, inexplicable pull she couldn’t quite put into words, but maybe it was also the system’s doing.

"Oliver," she called softly, her dark eyes searching his composed face.

He looked at her, his hand still resting lightly against her waist to steady her. "Yes?"

"I know we haven’t known each other for very long," April murmured, her fingers lightly smoothing the front of her blue dress, "but if you were to pronounce your role in my life, what do you think it would be?"

Oliver went silent. No readable thoughts drifted across his expression, his dark eyes unblinking behind his wire-rimmed glasses as he pondered her question with clinical gravity.

"Nat calls himself my villain," April continued softly, a faint, fond curve touching her lips. "Xavier is my saint. Alexander is my knight, and Samuel is my High Steward. Don’t you think those titles suit their temperaments unnervingly well?"

Oliver took a slow breath, his voice dropping into a raspy, thoughtful register. "Strangely... they do."

She nodded, a faint, quiet laugh escaping her lips as she looked up into his intense, unyielding gaze.

"They didn’t choose those roles by accident, and neither did I," April said, her voice dropping into a soft, mysterious whisper as the blue interface hovered just before her eyes. "So, Doctor... what are you to me?"

Oliver’s grip on her waist tightened just a fraction, his gaze holding hers without a single trace of hesitation.

"I am one who can keep you alive," he murmured softly. "Whatever breaks you, I can repair. Whatever threatens your body, I can excise. If they are your armor and your weapons, Miss April... then I am your sanctuary."

"Sanctuary," April whispered, the word slipping past her lips like a breath of fresh air.

A profound warmth bloomed in her chest, making her entire body feel instantly lighter, as if a heavy weight she hadn’t realized she was carrying had suddenly dissolved.

At that precise moment, the translucent blue System interface flared to life directly in her line of sight, the glowing text solidifying as if answering the unspoken resonance between them:
