Chapter 229 I want the three children of hers!

"Danger!!!” Ivy screamed inwardly, fear written all over her face. After a moment, she immediately turned toward Darren. "We’re going over to my children now. We’ll go to the Fierce Hunter Base later.”

“What’s wrong? Why the sudden change of heart?” Darren asked with a light chuckle. “Do you really miss your children that much that you can no longer wait to see them?”

He raised his gaze from the steering wheel for a brief moment to look at Ivy, only to notice that her face had suddenly gone pale.

His smile immediately disappeared.

“What’s wrong?” he asked again, this time with concern evident in his voice. “Did something happen?”

“Antelope Base is there now.” Ivy’s expression became tense as she stared ahead, her mind already racing with the possibilities of what could be happening at Hope Villa. “I know my system’s protective barrier is protecting everyone at the villa right now, but Antelope and his men need to be taught a lesson.”

Without saying another word, Darren understood the urgency in her voice.

His expression immediately became serious as he pressed his foot harder against the accelerator, causing the truck to speed up as he drove directly toward Hope Villa.

Meanwhile, back at Hope Villa...

The atmosphere was filled with fear and panic as survivors gathered together, all holding onto one another tightly as they stood inside the compound while Antelope and his men were gathered outside the villa.

Some of his soldiers were repeatedly striking the heavy gates with large hammers, desperately trying to break their way inside. However, despite the tremendous force they were using, the gates remained completely unmoved.

Other soldiers had resorted to trying to climb over the walls yet, strangely, none of them could make it over. No matter how many times they tried, something seemed to prevent them from reaching the top of the walls.

“What’s going on?!” Antelope suddenly roared, his face twisting with anger and confusion. “Why the hell can’t any of you climb over that wall?!”

One of his soldiers made another attempt, grabbed onto the wall and began pulling himself upward, struggling desperately to reach the top.

Bang!

A loud gunshot suddenly rang through the air making the soldier fall off.

The terrifying sound of the gunshot sent waves of fear and terror down the spines of the survivors trapped inside the villa compound for what felt like the hundredth time.

“Mommy!!!” Lila and Aria cried out in fear as they further hugged Mrs Smith tightly alongside Pearl, their heads pressed against her chest hence they couldn’t see what happened but they could hear gunshot hence they knew what exactly happened.

“Your mummy will be here soon,” Mrs. Smith reassured the children, gently stroking their hairs. “There’s no need to be scared, sweetie. We’ll protect you all until she comes back.”

Although Mrs. Smith’s voice sounded reassuring, the slight fear hidden within it was impossible to completely conceal. She was terrified as well as she had no idea how long the strange barrier protecting them would last.

Nearby, Mr. Smith was holding baby Hope securely in his arms. The baby was crying loudly, her cries filling the entire compound and adding to the already tense atmosphere. It was almost as though she could somehow sense the danger surrounding them but then Mr Smith just continue petting her.

Outside the villa, Antelope slowly narrowed his eyes.

“I see...” A strange realization suddenly dawned on him. He raised an eyebrow and let out a cold scoff as he stared at the walls surrounding the villa.

“I guess that woman is capable of many things, huh?” His gaze shifted toward the soldier he had just shot realizing that he had killed one of his own men for no reason.

The soldiers hadn’t been unable to climb the wall not because they lacked strength but because something else was preventing them from climbing over.

Antelope slowly turned his gaze back toward the survivors gathered inside the compound.

“You’d better tell me right now,” he demanded, his voice becoming dangerously cold. “What did that woman use to seal this place?!”

The survivors remained completely silent. Their gazes were fixed firmly on the ground as they stood together, their bodies still trembling in fear.

Antelope’s expression darkened. "If I end up finding out the answer myself then none of you will have a good ending.” He took a step forward, his eyes sweeping over the frightened survivors. "I only want those three children of hers. That’s all and everyone else will be free to go but if you refuse to cooperate and I eventually find a way to get inside this place myself...”

He paused as a sinister expression appeared on his face."...then I’ll kill every single one of you.”

The survivors remained silent , not one person dared to respond.

They had no idea what kind of barrier Ivy had placed around the villa either , but they knew one thing for certain and that is as long as the barrier remained intact, Antelope wouldn’t get inside.

“No response?!” Antelope suddenly yelled, his voice filled with rage making the survivors flinch at his outburst.

Antelope then urned sharply toward his soldiers, who had stopped trying to climb the walls or break through the gates.

“What are you all standing around for?!” he demanded angrily. “Continue breaking the gate!”

“Yes, sir!”

The soldiers immediately obeyed by rushing toward the gates once again, lifting their heavy hammers and resuming their attack. The deafening sounds echoed throughout the compound.

“I believe whatever spell that woman used to seal this place will eventually weaken,” Antelope said confidently. “Once it weakens enough, the barrier will disappear, and we’ll be able to break through.”

The soldiers continued hitting the gates without hesitation while the survivors could only stand helplessly inside the compound, listening to every terrifying sound. Each strike against the gates made them flinch.

But just then....

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A series of deafening gunshots suddenly filled the air.

The sound was so loud that everyone inside the compound immediately fell to the ground, their gaze fixed on the ground all while they continue trembling in fear.

However the bullets continue to take down the soldiers who had been attempting to break through the gates as well as those who have been trying to climb the walls.
