“I don’t want to die!” Dustin cried from inside the toilet, his voice shaky and filled with fear. He continued banging gently against the door, as though he were afraid that even the slightest movement might make his condition worse. “I hate being locked up! Please, let me out!”

“They’re going to kill you the moment I let you out,” Antelope replied, his tone serious as he kept his back pressed firmly against the toilet door.

“But I don’t want to be locked up either! I might die in here!” Dustin protested, his voice growing increasingly unsteady. He paused for a moment before speaking again, his tone suddenly filled with confusion. “A-and why are you being nice to me? I thought you hated us all.”

“Yes, I still hate you all,” Antelope answered without hesitation. “I hate everyone in this apocalypse, especially the person responsible for the virus outbreak. However, most of your friends are already dead. I don’t want to witness another death right in front of me simply because of your foolishness. So, just stay in there!”

Crack!

“He’s already changing, you bastard!” Darren yelled furiously.

Without another word, he grabbed Antelope by the collar and roughly pulled him away from the toilet door before slamming his back against the hard wall.

“We don’t know what kind of monster he’ll turn into!” Darren continued, his expression darkening with anger. “What if he becomes a particularly strong one? More of his classmates could end up dying while we’re all struggling to escape!”

He clenched his jaw, clearly displeased with Antelope’s decision to keep Dustin alive.

“Allowing someone who’s been bitten by a monster to complete their transformation only makes things more difficult for us. Once they turn, killing them becomes much harder, and they won’t go down without taking several others with them!”

Without wasting another second, Ivy stepped forward and approached the toilet stall. She raised her sword high above her head, preparing to strike Dustin down before his transformation could be completed.

“Please, don’t kill me!” Dustin pleaded from inside the toilet.

His voice was becoming increasingly distorted as the transformation progressed. The sound of bones cracking could be heard from within, while his teeth were already beginning to transform into sharp fangs. His eyes had also turned bloodshot, making his appearance increasingly horrifying.

“I… I feel so terrible right now,” he continued, struggling to get the words out. “It’s painful, but not too painful, I guess. However, I can feel it! I can feel my bones being ripped apart!”

“And that’s exactly why I’m ending this for good,” Ivy murmured under her breath.

She placed her free hand on the door handle, ready to unlock the toilet stall and put an end to Dustin’s suffering.

However, before she could turn the handle, Antelope suddenly broke free from Darren’s grip.

He hurried toward Ivy and dropped to his knees right in front of her, bowing his head in submission.

“Please, don’t kill him, Commander Ivy!” he pleaded desperately. “I’ll follow you anywhere you go. I’ll do whatever you ask of me, as long as you spare Dustin’s life. Let him become a monster if that’s what he wants! He’s already as good as dead anyway, so why not just leave him alone? Please, don’t reward him with another death!”

Antelope lowered his head even further until his forehead was almost touching the cold floor.

Ivy stared at him in disbelief, her expression gradually becoming complicated.

Why does he keep pleading for Dustin? she wondered, confusion written all over her face.

Is there something going on here that I don’t know about? Is he hiding something from me?

Growl!

A terrifying growl suddenly came from inside the toilet, interrupting her thoughts.

“H…here’s the keys to some of the cars.” Dustin stammered, his voice barely recognizable. A moment later, something came flying out from underneath the door.

Darren quickly bent down and caught the key before it could hit the floor.

“Let’s go, Commander Ivy!” Antelope pleaded, still kneeling in front of her.

“You!” Ivy snapped, her voice dripping with irritation.

She immediately delivered a kick to Antelope, sending him stumbling out of her way.

However, rather than simply walking past him, she leaned closer and lowered her head until her lips were near his ear.

“I wonder what you’re planning, Antelope,” she whispered, her voice dropping to a dangerous murmur. “But I’m curious to find out. After all, I know you’re not the kind of person who does anything without a reason or an agenda. So whatever it is you’re trying to accomplish, I intend to find out.”

She straightened up and gave him one final suspicious glance.

“Let’s go!”

With that, Ivy rose to her full height and turned toward the exit. Her subordinates immediately followed behind her, leaving Dustin to continue undergoing his transformation in the toilet.
