Apocalypse Supermarket: My Four Overpowered Husbands Wontstop Hoarding
Chapter 130 Godhood healing ability
Chapter 130: Chapter 130 Godhood healing ability
Luna almost went mad with anger and rage. This couldn’t be happening—it just couldn’t.
Kai, although playful and sometimes annoyingly childish, was special to her. He had become an important part of her life, her group, and somehow, even her heart. She couldn’t lose him. Not now. Not after everything they had already survived.
Still holding Adrian with Ethan’s help, Luna hurriedly swam toward the amphibious vehicle. The leviathan was finally gone, and for the first time in what felt like hours, they had enough time to breathe and think. But Luna wasn’t interested in breathing. She had only one thing on her mind.
Bringing Kai back.
She had dragged them into this place. She had been the one who decided they needed to raid the supermarket. She had been the one who brought them into the bunker, through the tunnels, into the sea, and now Kai had paid the price for it. This was her fault. And as long as it was her fault, no one was supposed to die. No one.
Luna reached the amphibious vehicle and climbed inside while Ethan helped her lay Adrian across the back seat. Adrian was barely conscious, his breathing shallow and uneven as his body struggled to recover from everything that had happened. Luna glanced at him for a moment before looking toward Ethan.
"Stay with him and let me handle Kai."
She was about to leave when Ethan suddenly grabbed her hand. "Is Kai really gone?" His voice cracked. "He can’t be gone. Let me just heal him. I’m a healer. I want to be by your side while you do this."
Luna looked back at Adrian. The man’s chest barely moved. She immediately shook her head. "Take care of Adrian, as I said. We can’t lose anyone else. Not him, not Kai, and not anyone in our group." Her voice was firm, even though her heart was breaking. "If I need your help, I’ll let you know. Just stay calm."
Ethan stared at her for a few seconds before finally releasing her hand.
Luna climbed back into the water. The cold immediately clung to her body. Her clothes became heavy, and she started shivering, but she barely noticed it. The cold wasn’t what hurt.
It was seeing Kai.
His body floated lifelessly in the water. That was painful enough. But what truly shattered something inside Luna was Rowan. Rowan was crying. She had never seen him cry before. The man was always cold, tough, controlled. Even when things became dangerous, Rowan rarely allowed his emotions to show. He was the type of person who would rather take a wound than admit he was hurting. But now? He was trembling.
Tears streamed down his face as he held Kai’s lifeless body against his chest.
Luna stared at him in disbelief. She had seen Rowan angry. She had seen him injured. She had seen him covered in blood. But she had never seen him look this broken. And the reason wasn’t difficult to understand. Kai was in his arms. Dead.
"He is gone, Luna." Rowan’s voice trembled as another tear rolled down his cheek. "He risked his life for us. He gave everything he had just to save us." His arms tightened around Kai. "What am I going to do without Kai in our team?"
His voice broke completely.
Luna’s heart twisted. She swallowed hard. "Bring him here."
Rowan immediately obeyed. He moved through the water toward the amphibious vehicle, holding Kai carefully in his arms. Despite everything that had happened, Rowan moved through the water with surprising skill, paddling like someone who had spent his entire life swimming. Luna watched him approach, then her eyes fell on Kai.
His blonde hair floated around his face. His usually playful expression was gone. There was no mocking smile, no teasing, no stupid joke. Nothing. Just silence.
Luna stepped closer. There had to be something. There had to be. Her space had everything—food, medicine, weapons, equipment, rare resources, healing items. There had to be something capable of bringing someone back from the brink of death. Her mind raced through everything she had stored. Healing crystals. Rare herbs. Regeneration items. Maybe there was something hidden in the deeper section of her space that she hadn’t discovered yet.
She would search every corner if she had to. She would tear apart the entire space. She would spend every apocalypse coin she possessed. She would search the whole damn earth if that was what it took.
Kai couldn’t die. Not him.
Just as Luna was about to turn around and search her space, Ethan’s voice came from behind her. "I think I can help."
Luna froze. She slowly turned. Ethan stood at the edge of the vehicle, his silver hair wet and sticking against his forehead. "I know how to bring him back."
Luna’s eyes narrowed.
Ethan continued, "I’m a healer. I can heal wounds, infections, broken bones, and even damage that should have killed someone." He looked at Kai. "But if healing can repair a dying body, then I believe there is something further I can do." His eyes hardened with determination. "Maybe I can bring him back to us."
Luna immediately became uncomfortable. "No."
Ethan frowned. "Why?"
"Because that’s dangerous." Luna’s voice became colder. "Bringing someone back from the dead isn’t something you simply try because you’re a healer."
Ethan stepped forward. "You trained us to reach this level."
"Exactly." Luna looked directly into his eyes. "You are all SSS-rank awakened. Your powers have reached a level most people can’t even comprehend, but that doesn’t mean you can keep forcing them beyond their limits." She glanced at his trembling hands. "Without proper charging and empowerment, your body could reject your own cells. You could lose control. You could go mad."
Ethan’s expression didn’t change. "I’m willing to take that risk."
"And I’m not." Luna’s voice cracked slightly. "I won’t sacrifice one of you to bring another back. I refuse." She turned toward Kai. "And I don’t believe he’s gone."
Rowan looked at her. "Luna..."
"Kai Blackwood is alive." She said it with absolute certainty, almost as if saying it strongly enough could make reality obey her. "Kai is alive, and he’s coming back." Luna turned toward the vehicle. "I’m going to my space. I’ll find something that can help him."
Ethan’s face became gloomy. "But—"
"You won’t do anything." Luna stopped and looked back. "Not yet."
Ethan fell silent.
Luna walked back toward Kai, but before she could say anything else, she noticed the pain in Rowan’s expression. He looked like he was trying desperately to stay strong. And somehow, that hurt even more.
Ethan lowered his head. He understood what Luna was trying to do. She was pretending to be strong because everyone else needed her to be. But Ethan could see the truth in her eyes. She wanted to cry. She was carrying too much—the deaths, the monsters, the betrayal, the supermarket, the tunnel, the sea, and now Kai. It was too much for one person.
Without saying another word, Rowan moved closer and wrapped his arms around Luna. He gently patted her back. "It’s okay."
Luna stiffened.
"I understand." His voice was quiet. "It’s fine."
Something inside Luna finally broke. Her eyes burned. Then tears slipped down her cheeks. "Why?" Her voice trembled. "Why can’t things just be easy?" She gripped Rowan’s clothes. "Haven’t we tried enough?" Her shoulders shook. "Why?"
She held Kai’s body tightly, almost like a desperate wife who had lost her husband in battle and refused to accept that he was gone. "I can’t take this." Her voice cracked. "If I can’t help him, then what’s the point?"
Rowan held her tighter.
"He risked his life for me." Luna looked down at Kai. "And for all of you." Her tears fell onto his wet hair. "He deserves to come back." She wiped her face with trembling fingers. "He’s smart. He’s annoying. He’s childish." A broken laugh escaped her lips. "But he’s innocent." Her voice broke again. "That’s not how his story is supposed to end." She held Kai tighter. "His journey isn’t supposed to be this short."
For several seconds, there was only the sound of the water moving around them.
Then—
Chime.
Luna froze. A familiar mechanical sound echoed through her mind. Her system.
[Power Leveling Crystals ready for consumption.]
[Purpose: Charge the awakened requiring emergency empowerment.]
[Current potential: Godhood.]
Luna’s eyes widened. "What?"
Rowan and Ethan heard the system announcement too. They both stared at her. Luna immediately summoned her system interface. Dozens of orange crystals appeared in the storage display. Her heart began pounding. This was it. Maybe this was the answer.
Ethan stepped forward. "This is it." His voice was filled with determination. "Give me the crystals."
Luna looked at him. "Ethan..."
"I can do this." He stared directly into her eyes. "Let me save him."
Luna hesitated. She looked at Kai. Then at Ethan. Then back at the crystals. She had dozens of them, but that didn’t mean she could waste them. These crystals could be used to replenish the energy her men had consumed during battle. They could also become emergency resources if another disaster happened. But Kai was dying. She couldn’t hesitate anymore.
Luna took out two crystals. "Only two."
Ethan nodded. "That’s enough."
He took them from her. The moment the crystals touched his palms, they dissolved into brilliant energy. Ethan’s entire body suddenly jerked. His eyes turned pale white. A powerful glow appeared inside his pupils.
"Ethan!"
His body began shaking violently. It looked like he was suffering from a seizure. The energy inside him continued increasing. His veins glowed. His muscles tightened. Then—
BOOM!
A massive explosion of light erupted from his body.
Luna’s eyes widened. "What the hell?!"
The fabric of light tore through the sky, spreading in every direction. The water beneath them violently shook. A powerful storm seemed to form from nowhere. Luna and Rowan were nearly ripped away from the vehicle.
"Hold on!"
Rowan grabbed Luna while she reached for Ethan’s hand. For a few terrifying seconds, they struggled against the force. Then, suddenly—the storm stopped reaching them. The energy remained concentrated around Ethan.
He opened his glowing eyes. Then he placed one hand on Kai’s chest.
A gigantic thread of light erupted from his palm. It wasn’t ordinary light. It shimmered with different colors, almost like a rainbow made from pure energy. The beam struck Kai. Luna held her breath.
Nothing happened at first. Then Kai’s corrupted flesh began changing. The blackened wounds started disappearing. The zombie infection was burned away. The damaged tissue repaired itself. The chunk of flesh that had been torn from his body began growing back. Bone reconstructed. Muscle formed. Skin sealed. The wounds that had looked fatal only moments ago vanished as though they had never existed.
Luna stared. Rowan’s mouth dropped open. Neither of them had ever witnessed anything like this. Ethan’s healing power had gone beyond anything they knew.
"This..." Rowan couldn’t even finish the sentence.
Luna stared at Kai. Then a golden light suddenly appeared above his chest. It hovered there for several seconds. Then—it sank directly into his body.
Kai’s fingers twitched. Luna’s breath caught. His chest suddenly rose.
"GASP!"
Kai inhaled violently. His entire body jerked. Then he rolled onto his side and began vomiting a thick black substance.
Luna immediately crouched beside him. "Kai!"
He continued vomiting until his body finally exhausted itself. His breathing became ragged. But he was breathing. He was alive.
Luna’s eyes filled with tears again. A broken smile appeared on her face. "You’re alive..."
Rowan stared at Kai in disbelief. Ethan stumbled backward, exhausted but still standing. They had done it. They had brought Kai back.
But none of them noticed what had happened beyond the ocean. The enormous explosion of healing energy had traveled far beyond the island. It had shaken the ground. It had disturbed the sea. It had crossed distances no ordinary awakened could sense.
And somewhere far away, inside a hidden laboratory filled with broken machines, dead bodies, failed experiments, and countless glass chambers, someone suddenly opened his eyes.
The mad scientist who had spent years searching for something beyond ordinary awakened abilities had felt it. That energy. That impossible healing essence. His instruments began screaming with warnings. Numbers climbed rapidly across several screens.
The scientist slowly walked toward the largest monitor. "What..."
His hands trembled. He had seen healing powers before. But never this. Never an essence powerful enough to restore corrupted flesh, repair catastrophic injuries, remove infection, and return someone from the edge of death.
His eyes widened with obsession. "A catastrophe essence..." he whispered. "Someone possesses a catastrophe essence."
The scientist stared at the readings. After years of failed experiments, countless dead subjects, and endless attempts to force awakened abilities beyond their natural limits, he had finally discovered something. A healer. A healer capable of changing the entire world.
His lips slowly curved into a smile. "So you finally appeared."
Back in the ocean, Luna remained completely unaware. She only cared about Kai. He was alive. That was all that mattered.
But somewhere in the darkness, someone had already begun searching for them. And now the question was no longer whether the healer could save the dead. The question was,
Who had created such a potent healing essence in the first place? And more importantly—how far would the mad scientist go to obtain it?
