Apocalypse Supermarket: My Four Overpowered Husbands Wontstop Hoarding
Chapter 175 She’s moving!!
Chapter 175: Chapter 175 She’s moving!!
Just as Kai was about to reveal the next part of his confession, Luna suddenly moved on the couch.
Rowan’s eyes immediately snapped toward her.
His eyes widened as he watched her fingers twitch before her body shifted slightly.
"She’s moving! Finally!"
Kai’s mouth snapped shut.
Whatever he had been about to say could wait. The others immediately gathered around Luna, their earlier conversation forgotten as they approached the couch to check on her.
For the first time since they had discovered the strange illusion, Luna was showing signs of consciousness.
Rowan was the first to reach her.
"Luna?"
He leaned closer, watching her face anxiously.
Luna’s eyelids fluttered before finally opening. She stared at the men surrounding her, her eyes moving from one face to another as though she were trying to identify them.
What the hell had happened?
Why were they all standing around her like that?
And why did they look as though they had just witnessed someone returning from the dead?
She tried to sit up, but the moment she moved, a sharp pain exploded inside her head.
"Fuck! That hurts like a bitch!"
She immediately clutched her forehead, squeezing her eyes shut as she tried to endure the throbbing pain.
Rowan sighed in relief.
"Oh, dear. You’re finally back, Luna. I don’t know what happened, but I was worried we’d lost you."
He moved even closer, his face filled with concern.
Luna opened one eye and looked at him.
Then she glanced at how close he was sitting.
"Would you mind moving away a little? I feel like I’m about to choke."
Rowan froze.
For a second, he looked as though someone had slapped him across the face.
Then he immediately straightened and moved away, embarrassment spreading across his expression.
Ethan noticed his reaction and winked at him.
Rowan shot him a glare.
Meanwhile, Kai facepalmed.
Seriously?
Here he was, thinking they were finally having an important moment together, and now everything had been ruined again.
Weren’t they supposed to be confessing their secrets and figuring out what was happening to them? They had only just begun opening up to one another when Luna decided to wake up and interrupt the entire conversation.
Not that he was unhappy she was awake.
Of course he was relieved.
But their timing was absolutely terrible.
Adrian, who had remained relatively composed throughout the commotion, stepped forward.
"We were worried about you. You had all of us in a chokehold with your strange behavior, and we couldn’t figure out what was happening. We thought you might know something we didn’t."
Luna stared at him.
Then she looked at Rowan, Ethan, and Kai before glancing around the sitting room.
Her expression gradually changed from confusion to disbelief.
She raised both hands and touched her face, feeling her cheeks and forehead as though she needed to confirm that she was actually awake.
"Are you guys kidding me?"
Nobody answered immediately.
Luna looked around again.
"I didn’t even know we were back!"
That statement made Adrian pause.
Kai’s head turned sharply toward her.
For a moment, he simply stared.
Luna noticed their expressions and raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
"You didn’t know we were back?" Adrian repeated.
"No, I didn’t!"
She pushed herself into a sitting position more carefully this time, wincing when the pain in her head returned.
"You people are scaring me. Why are you all acting like statues? Aren’t we supposed to be on the island?"
She looked at them one after another.
"Yes, I remember going there to rescue you, but I definitely don’t remember coming back here. This is a surprise!"
Ethan immediately resumed pacing.
His earlier relief had disappeared, replaced by a fresh wave of confusion.
"This isn’t funny, Luna. It’s really not."
He stopped and turned toward her.
"You brought all of us here. You said something about Astrid and Miles being missing, and you were supposed to help us locate them. We even had lunch!"
Kai’s eyebrows shot up.
"Hold on. We never had lunch."
Ethan looked at him.
"What?"
"We never had lunch," Kai repeated. "We were interrupted before we could finish eating, and I honestly can’t remember the last time we ate anything."
He frowned and looked down at his stomach.
"Actually, I don’t even feel hungry right now. My stomach feels as flat as—"
He stopped, apparently unable to find a suitable comparison.
"Never mind. The point is, I don’t feel hungry at all."
The others exchanged glances.
One by one, they looked down at themselves, apparently checking whether they felt the same way.
Luna pressed a hand against her stomach.
She wasn’t hungry either.
That was strange.
They had been through an exhausting ordeal on the island. They had fought dangerous creatures, struggled through the sea, and nearly lost their lives more times than she wanted to count.
Under normal circumstances, they should have been starving.
Yet none of them felt the slightest urge to eat.
It was as though they had already eaten a full meal, but nobody could remember doing so.
When had they eaten?
Where had the food come from?
And why couldn’t they remember?
Luna rubbed her forehead again.
"My head. My fucking head hurts!"
She groaned, leaning back against the couch.
"This apocalypse just can’t stop messing with my mental health!"
She opened her eyes and looked at the others.
"What do you mean you don’t remember bringing us home? If that’s the case, who did? None of us did that!"
Her gaze settled on Adrian.
Then Rowan himself turned toward her and demanded, "And dear, Luna, tell me right now that you didn’t hurt your head that badly when you fell!"
Luna blinked.
"What?"
Instead of answering him, Rowan pointed toward Adrian.
"It’s your fault! Why didn’t you go easy on her? Look at her—just look at her! She’s having amnesia in broad daylight, and none of you thinks that’s strange?"
Adrian’s expression darkened.
Rowan looked as though he wanted to argue more, but Adrian spoke first.
"Do we actually know what happened?"
His question left Rowan’s jaw hanging.
Adrian folded his arms.
"Ethan noticed something strange, and so did I. From what I can remember, I definitely didn’t see anything that would explain how we left that island."
He glanced around the room.
"How did we get out of there? That’s the question we should be asking!"
Rowan fell silent.
For once, he didn’t have an immediate answer.
Adrian turned toward him.
"You love her. We all know that. But don’t try to make us look stupid because Luna is trying to explain something she herself doesn’t understand. You’re blaming us for something none of us can remember. Are you serious right now, Rowan? Be fucking serious."
The words struck harder than Rowan expected.
He looked away.
For a moment, he seemed to struggle with what Adrian had said. Then he stood up, apparently deciding that the best thing he could do was give Luna some space.
He wanted to reassure her that everything would be fine.
He wanted to tell her that they would figure things out together.
But when he moved closer, Luna gave him a cold shoulder and immediately looked away.
The small gesture hurt more than he wanted to admit.
Rowan hesitated before stepping aside, leaving her alone with her thoughts.
