Apocalypse: the Most Ruthless Person

Chapter 680 - 553: You’ll Be Joining Him Soon! (Part 2)

Zhang Su’s offense hadn’t ended yet; once completely unleashed, it became a tempest of fury. The illusory white mist danced around his body, blood surged within, and the violent power flowed through his muscles and bones, each punch like thunder, each kick like lightning.

If fists and feet were the only weapons, it wouldn’t be enough. When a punch landed on a person, the force would make his shoulder crash into another, even knowing he would take a punch back, he remained fearless.

Similarly, while taking hits, you must exploit gaps in the opponent’s assault to inflict terrifying damage, not merely trading injuries, but exchanging minor wounds for major ones, or even for death!

With his eyes coordinating with the white mist to sense figures, facing eight opponents, although he could predict their actions, the speed of his mind couldn’t keep up. They were men, seven living people—some cunning, some impulsive, some reckless, and some who didn’t care about risking their lives.

To emerge unscathed and victorious seemed too fantastical; at best, he could minimize serious injuries, keeping them within manageable limits, equating to being unharmed. Moreover, every injury he sustained was to inflict greater harm, never making a losing trade!

Bang, bang, bang, thud, thud, thud...

Punches and kicks exchanged, after Big Bull, three more fell to the ground within a minute, their postures awkward, bodies twisted. Two had clearly died, brutally and swiftly, without any suffering!

Real mortal combat isn’t as slow as portrayed in movies; often it ends in a split second, where life just vanishes...

Out of the nine Flying Wolf Gang members, five remained, and one was injured, with one leg barely functional.

Qi Dabin hadn’t fallen; there’s a reason he became the head wolf, his skills outstanding. His direct offensive power wasn’t strong, but he was exceptionally agile when evading, having invested all his Attribute Points in agility.

Relying on the others to make hard contact, Qi Dabin maneuvered through the situation, despite four or five companions falling, getting nothing but some sand in his mouth, never touching Zhang Su’s thunderous assault.

Not only did he evade attacks, but managed to surprise Zhang Su with a few strikes. However, fearing being caught off guard, he refrained from being greedy, so their power and accuracy were lacking, like scratching an itch through a shoe.

The biggest trouble was when one attack literally splashed dirt onto Zhang Su’s face, leaving him dirt-faced!

They expected to take advantage of Zhang Su’s brief blindness to pull off a miracle, yet he exposed no weakness even with eyes closed. Though offensive actions ceased, his defense remained impenetrable!

The terrifying combat intuition chilled Qi Dabin’s heart; he felt he was facing something not human!

Thump!

A heavy gut punch, a violently shocked coarse old woman staggered back, face contorted with pain, before vomiting old blood and convulsing madly on the ground.

No one aided her; death awaited certainly.

Following rapidly, another middle-aged man spun twice in the air before hitting the ground. After rolling his eyes in convulsions, he took his last breath.

The duel arena was left with only three: Qi Dabin, Skinny, and Zhang Su, from when Big Bull was knocked flying to now, just four or five minutes.

Yet in these four or five minutes, Zhang Su had consumed eight percent of his energy, now down to ninety-one percent!

In normal circumstances, high-intensity training for two hours would deplete only fifteen percent, so actual battle consumes tremendously, each muscular interaction siphoning energy; also the white mist utility, rapid cognitive predictions, all demanded energy!

The trio seemed to have a tacit understanding, stopping concurrently, halting the combat.

The bloody clash of fists and bodies, brimming with primitive, fierce, powerful aesthetic brutality, stirred the hundreds of Celestial Horse Island members around, a scene after scene impacting nerves, triggering hormone surges, many so excited they felt overheated, removed hats in the freezing minus twenty degrees, loosened collars.

Followers of King Yama faced feverish enthusiasm, unable to shout, so they waved arms intensely, unsure who initiated the deep "huff, huff" sound, quickly imitated by others.

For those taking Zhang Su as an idol, a goal to strive for, feelings were mixed, each real strike causing emotional turmoil, but the gap... continuously cooled their hearts, alternating hot and cold sensations akin to both pain and pleasure, finally whole discomfort roots.

"Too... effing, badass!"

Qi Xiaoshuai tilted his lips, eyes full of longing, murmured, "God, I don’t wish much, just half of Brother Su’s strength would suffice for me!"

Three stopped in the arena allowing spectators to breathe out accumulated emotions finally.

"Sky’s dim, not black, dreaming?"

Beside him, Wang Xin bluntly retorted, then grinned: "I only want a third!"

"No ambition!" Pang Dakun heard them, couldn’t help but sneer, thrusting his chest: "I’ll be like Uncle, can fight ten at once!"

"Alright, got it, I believe you."

"Hmm, wish you success."

"Fool..."

Listening to Pang Dakun boasting, eyes rolled simultaneously, at Ah Kun’s age they’d been cocky too, but as they matured, reality became clear, knowing effort meant little compared to talent!

Zhang Su was evidently a talent-type champion, his talent extraordinary.

Ju Mumio had most authority on this passed point; meeting Zhang Su shortly, witnessed his most astonishing growth.

"Xiaoshan, hurry to prepare medicine..."

Zheng Xinyu showed concern and affection, unlike others who focused solely on Zhang Su’s explosive offense she noticed Zhang Su’s bruises, and every punch and kick he took!

Petrified Skin Zombie’s leather bulletproof suit resists bullets, not fists, and every hit hurt, each swelled as well!

For all others Zhang Su’s wounds were medals but to Zheng Xinyu and Zhong Xiaoshan they were injuries, causing pain, swelling, and bruising.

Su Xiaoya pushed through crowds unnoticed, watching mesmerized by Zhang Su’s heroism, also felt his vicarious pain, wanting to help when seeing Xiaoshan leave hurriedly followed.

Another one too took steps yet after seeing Xiaoshan and Su Xiaoya’s actions halted, back to crowd, it was Zhao Xue, avoiding the scramble if someone acts.

"Big Brother Zhang is incredible, truly strong, how I wish to be this way!"

Tian Fan largely unnoticed, even with one arm lost disarmed battle wild allure infused heart fiercely stirred, imagining personally embodying such prestige yet aware of physical limitations, couldn’t help feeling down.

Yuwen walked to Zhao Dezhu, found him furiously roaring with Lu Yubo, patted him on shoulder.

"Stop damn it... Uncle, what’s up?"

Zhao Dezhu cut actions to address Yuwen, donned cheerful face.

"Take people, dig nine pits at Village No.2 cemetery." Yuwen discreetly signaled afar.

"Seriously, these dudes deserve burial?"

Unamused, Zhao Dezhu pouted.

Yuwen didn’t lecture Zhao Dezhu but patiently said, "So many observing, will Yama Corps leave impression of killing without burying? They’re humans, foes are humans too, King Yama kind, Yama Corps righteous, understand?"

"Got it, I’ll proceed." Zhao Dezhu nodded, intended pulling along Lu Yubo but reconsidered, thus approached Liu Yao.

Poor Liu Yao, ardently rooting for Zhang Su then dragged away by Zhao Dezhu for grave digging...

"Hey, can’t misuse power for grudges, can I decline? I’m cheering Yama now!"

Liu Yao protested yet faced Corps leader’s "invite," had little leverage.

Zhao Dezhu grinned: "Damn, implying my brother lacks your cheers will lose?"

"Not at all, no..." Liu Yao scrambled avoidance, such misunderstanding unbearable, eyes swiveling, pointed Yang Xinqi: "Let’s get Old Yang along?"

"Works!" Zhao Dezhu readily agreed nodding.
