"Don’t worry, I think only I and it can sense it. How did you do it? Did you develop this ability while training your emotional perception? Please tell me quickly, time is running out."

Ju Mumio pressed on, while taking out a damaged phone to check the time.

Zhang Su sharply noticed the phone was counting down. There were more than two minutes left; they must have started a five-minute countdown when the conversation began. Damn, such strict principles!

"Why so anxious... You’re right, I’ve been using the method you taught me to train my emotional perception. Then... after an intense battle, it clicked. I can not only sense others’ emotions but also influence them with my own, although my perception is sometimes inaccurate."

Zhang Su mixed in some of his confusion, making a speech that was partly true and partly false, while squatting down to gently brush the Corgi’s fur. It was smooth and soft, feeling wonderful to the touch.

Ju Mumio listened intently, her clear eyes staring directly at Zhang Su. After pondering for a while, she said seriously, "Throughout the history of the Ju Clan, there’s never been a record of someone with your abilities. I can only say, you’re a natural genius."

"Even natural geniuses have their troubles..." Zhang Su comfortably accepted Ju Mumio’s sincere praise and said with a smirk, "You said..."

Beep beep beep, beep beep beep.

Ju Mumio closed the countdown timer and shrugged awkwardly, "Time’s up, I’ve delayed you, you should quickly get to the lab."

"Like hell I’m going! You’ve finished asking your questions, I still have some of my own!" Zhang Su leaned against a tree, pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and continued, "There’s something that’s been bothering me, let’s think about it together."

"You’re wondering how to control the fact that your emotions can inadvertently affect those around you, right?"

Ju Mumio spoke with a calm expression.

A puff of smoke got stuck in Zhang Su’s lungs, and it took him a good two seconds to exhale. Fortunately, his psychological resilience was stronger than before; otherwise, he would’ve gotten choked!

"Can you really only sense others’ emotions, and nothing else?"

For a moment, Zhang Su doubted if she could actually use the Mind Reading Technique and even knew his own confusion. This was just too crazy!

Ju Mumio shook her head, a slight smile on her lips, "It’s a rational judgment based on your abilities. If I were you, I’d be troubled by it too."

"Exactly, I’m a bit frustrated right now, constantly having to control my emotions, it’s quite unnatural."

Zhang Su sighed helplessly. Sometimes, abilities are a burden too.

Ju Mumio nodded. Earlier, when she saw Zhang Su, she always felt he was peculiar, with somewhat dull emotional reactions. She couldn’t figure it out then, but now it all made sense.

"How do you want to control it? Want to try drinking? Alcohol can numb the mind."

Ju Mumio took a flask from her bag and handed it to Zhang Su.

Zhang Su shook his head, pushed the flask back, and chuckled, "If I’m numbed, how can I get things done? I’m thinking if my emotions can influence others, how would that work, oh wait, let me rephrase..."

"Hmm... what do you think is the medium or transmission path for emotions? Or to be straightforward, what could be the source of emotional radiation?"

After a lengthy explanation, he finally made his question clear.

"Emotions, transmission, medium, source..."

Ju Mumio opened the flask, took a few gulps, screwed the cap back on, and placed it in her bag. Suddenly, her eyes brightened as she pointed to her eyes.

"Eyes!"

"Eyes?"

"Exactly, I believe the clarity in one’s eyes best reflects inner emotions, thus influencing those around them. Think about it, isn’t that right?"

Ju Mumio’s eyes sparkled.

Zhang Su seriously looked at her, slowly nodding, "Yes, I can feel your confidence in your judgment. Indeed, the eyes are the window to the soul, that makes sense..."

Thinking of this, Zhang Su tightly closed his eyes and said, "Come on, feel it."

He then began to stir up unusual emotions in his heart, trying to make himself excited and thrilled. After about four or five seconds, he asked with his eyes closed, "How is it?"

"Good news, indeed, there’s no sensation."

"Really?"

Zhang Su abruptly opened his eyes, unable to hide the joy in them. He had found the real switch!

"Now there is!"

Ju Mumio’s face twitched slightly, seemingly struggling to resist Zhang Su’s intense emotions.

"What about like this?"

Zhang Su raised his hands to cover his eyes, but kept them open, "How does that feel?"

"The intensity is diminishing..." About two or three seconds later, Ju Mumio said, "It’s gone, there’s nothing now."

"Hahaha!"

"Woof!"

Zhang Su laughed heartily, and the nearby Corgi Good Fortune, sensing the happiness, barked along.

So the organ transmitting emotions was the eyes, and cutting off the connection between the eyes and the outside could close the source of emission. Knowing this made it much easier.

If not for Ju Mumio’s help, Zhang Su would have figured it out eventually, but until then, it would have remained a persistent problem, possibly causing unnecessary trouble!

"Do you have sunglasses? Let me try a pair!"

Zhang Su extended his hand, thinking that if sunglasses could limit his ability, it would be perfect.

"How could I have something like that, but..." Ju Mumio shrugged, then pulled out a piece of black cloth from her small bag, "Will this work?"

Zhang Su looked at the three-foot-long black cloth, his lips twitching as he said helplessly, "Why do you carry this around?"

"Practicing perception." Ju Mumio spoke while she wrapped the cloth around her eyes, demonstrating as she explained, "This has a better effect than just closing your eyes."

"I see..." Zhang Su awkwardly touched his nose, realizing his misunderstanding. He then said, "This isn’t suitable for me. I’ll check the storeroom later; there should be some sunglasses! Haha, you’ve helped me solve a big problem, thank you so much. I don’t even know how to reward you."

Ju Mumio was now considered quite special at the camp. Her Combat Power was second to one, living in a large house and enjoying the luxury of drinking anytime, her privileges were already many.

"I happen to need some help..."

"Ah?" Zhang Su was startled. He had just said it as a courtesy, not expecting Ju Mumio to actually need something. But since she had helped him greatly, he replied seriously, "What is it? As long as it’s not too demanding, I’ll handle it for you."

Ju Mumio glanced at the time, perhaps feeling it had already taken long enough. She didn’t delay further, directly pulling a folded A4 paper from her bag and handing it to Zhang Su.

"What is it?"

Zhang Su felt slightly curious, secretly hoping it wasn’t a confession letter, or that would just be screwed. After opening it, his heart settled—it was a drawing of a lifelike katana with Ju Yihet’s name written next to it in Chinese characters.
