"You were just what?" Bai Meiyue could not help but sneer. "These clothes belong to my son, and I only sent them to be washed. Why is your son wearing these clothes?" Bai Meiyue was furious when she saw another child wearing the clothes that she had arranged and prepared for her son. These clothes were something that she had very excitedly picked up for her son. How could she allow someone else to pick one of the items in the set and even make her son wear it?

She walked closer to the woman and snapped at her, "These are my son’s clothes. If you wanted to get new clothes for your son, then you could have purchased them at the shops. Why did you not use your crystal nuclei? Why did you pick one from mine?"

"Miss Bai, is there a need for you to lose your temper over such a small thing, is there?" The woman could not help but feel that Bai Meiyue was making a fuss over nothing. After all, it was just a simple piece of clothing, and there was no need for her to lose her temper over just a piece of fabric. What was more, the shirt in this set was missing a button. Bai Meiyue was the owner of the safe base; she would naturally not want a broken piece of cloth.

"Originally, I didn’t want to care about such small matters. After all, I have many important things to deal with, but you are really getting on my last nerve. It doesn’t matter if this set of clothes is good or bad, nor does it matter that a button was broken off while washing. The issue here is that you took this piece of clothing without asking me. What are you even trying to teach your son? That as long as he wants something, he should just snatch it?"

"Why are you making a big deal out of it? I made a mistake, alright. I thought that with a button popped off, you wouldn’t want these clothes anymore, but since you like them so much, I will take them off, alright? There is no need to start a fight over just a shirt." The woman lowered her head uncomfortably and started to take off the clothes without saying anything more. Though she listened to Bai Meiyue, it was clear that she was dissatisfied with Bai Meiyue after being told off.

She was older than Bai Meiyue, and she only took a small piece of useless clothing. She was not like Bai Meiyue, who had countless crystal nuclei that she could use to buy clothes at the shops in the safe base. She could only earn a few crystal nuclei to feed her family every now and then. How could she even think of using her hard-earned salary on clothes? She did not have that much money.

Because the woman was dissatisfied with Bai Meiyue, she used some force while pulling her son’s shirt down causing him to frown and then burst into crying. The woman was already upset when she was scolded by Bai Meiyue, and when her son started crying, she could not help but scold him. "Cry, cry, cry. Why do you keep crying all day long? If your dad had evolved into a supernatural ability user, then you too could have worn such pretty clothes. Why didn’t he? It’s all your bad luck to be born into such a family."

When Bai Meiyue heard her words, her face could not help but darken. She was already dealing with a lot of things at the moment, and emotions were running high. On top of that, she now had to deal with a woman who felt unstable in her heart. This woman was simply feeling unbalanced in her heart and was jealous of her son.

Most probably, she thought that Xiao Cai was now the prince of the safe base because his mother was the one who built the safe base, and thus, he would get all the best of the things, and there was Lei Qian, who was just as strong. Naturally, she believed that there was something that Xiao Cai was getting that her son could never get. It was no wonder that she actually did such a thing.

But what this woman did not know was that Bai Meiyue had no such intention. She was not going to spoil her son rotten just because she doted on him. It was the end of the world, and she would teach her son all kinds of skills. She would make sure that her son would be able to deal with everything around him without worry. If he was doted on to the point where he grew pampered, who would protect her son? In this world, only those who were strong could stay safe. She did not want her son to become as weak as those men who relied on women.

She could not help but sneer, "I think you have had enough of peaceful days, haven’t you? That’s why you are creating a drama. You took my things without asking for permission. The sensible thing would have been better to apologise and let the matter slide but you seem to be causing trouble for no reason. Since you have so many complaints, you can leave. Get out of the safe base and find another place to stay. I am not going to say anything, nor will I stop you. I can always find more people to work in the laundry base. You are nothing special."

"No, no, no. I did not mean such a thing."

As soon as the woman heard Bai Meiyue’s roar, she could not help but turn worried. What was going on? She never thought that Bai Meiyue’s mind would be this small. She actually chased her out of the safe base. It was such a small matter, and yet this woman had such a vicious heart. For a piece of clothing, she wanted to kill her entire family.
