Chapter 1088: Chapter 1076: Humans and Ducks Can’t Be Judged the Same Way

"Quack moo!"

Being battle-hardened doesn’t necessarily mean always winning; defeat can also bring rich experience. So, the Light of Evolution didn’t appear only on one Farfetch’d but enveloped two at the same time.

The two evolved Sirfetch’d looked at each other, readjusted their stances, and lightly touched their leek blades in a ceremonial exchange before resuming their battle.

"Quack moo!!"

The previously defeated Sirfetch’d raised its shield to block the thrust of the other Sirfetch’d. The green leek shield now had a tinge of black, not from a skill, but from the power of Haki.

Haki is never exclusive to humans; any intelligent creature has the possibility to train in Haki, not just human subspecies but various animals as well.

The Kung Fu Sea Cow of Alabasta, Ferren of the Thousand-Year Dragon, and Elizabeth in her Inteleon form have all practiced Haki, so it’s only natural that Fighting type Sirfetch’d and Galar Farfetch’d also have mastery over it.

"Quack moo, quack moo, moo!"

Seeing its leek blade blocked, the other Sirfetch’d didn’t hold back—wrapping the tip of its leek blade with Haki, it launched a new round of battle. The same force evolved into a clash between spear and shield, with the fight between the two Sirfetch’d momentarily evenly matched.

Given the intensity of their current battle, determining a victor won’t be easy. Both were taught by the same master, and neither can counter the other’s moves.

Galar Farfetch’d are divided into different schools based on the manner of wielding leeks, and with more teaching, their schools have become even more complex.

Both of these Sirfetch’d’s schools come from Hyogoro, a renowned Armament teacher in Wano Kuni.

As Hyogoro grew older, he didn’t want to remain idle, so he applied to open a Sword Dao Gym in Wano Kuni to teach his skills and to cultivate a new generation of youth.

The Armament teacher term is a jest, referring to Hyogoro in the original timeline who, despite being extremely old and frail, taught Luffy High-tier Armament.

Though he lacks a crash course now, many often come to Hyogoro for further training in Armament, making him a local authority on Armament in Wano Kuni.

"Really, never thought I’d be teaching a bunch of ducks swordplay one day..."

Watching the Farfetch’d practice in the gym, Hyogoro found himself momentarily speechless, as most people’s perseverance couldn’t match that of these ducks.

Their body structure differs from humans, yet by mimicking his moves, they’ve evolved their own unique schools.

"You’ll get used to it, Uncle Hyogoro. Isn’t there plenty of similar stuff in Wano Kuni? That Judo gym over there even hires a few Machamp as sparring partners."

"You brat, dare to speak, huh? Haven’t kept an eye on you for a while, been slacking off again! Your progress isn’t enough!"

Hyogoro took up a bamboo stick and tapped Kojiro on the head, urging him to continue his training diligently.

"One can’t generalize everyone; my energy is limited, unlike these Farfetch’d who need only practice all day without other concerns.

I’ll be off, Uncle Hyogoro; you need to focus on recruiting students."

Seeing Hyogoro’s attention shift back to him, Kojiro quickly found an excuse to leave the gym, soon returning to his residence in Flower Capital.

The gates looked no different from other courtyards, only adorned with a peculiar insignia.

On his gate hung an image of Tinkaton, with a large X marked through it. Simply put, Tinkaton are not welcome here; Bisharps residing here forbid Tinkaton from setting foot inside.

The two clans naturally don’t get along; even though living by Arceus prevents them from mortal combat, they’re always strategizing against each other.

Most of the time, it’s the Bisharps guarding against Tinkaton; those hammer-wielding pink creatures appear quite unfriendly, always trying to knock something off them.

To Tinkaton, however, it’s the Bisharps who seem too stingy, unwilling to contribute even a bit of forging material.

...

With Kojiro gone, Hyogoro began assessing newly enrolled young people, while Sirfetch’d and Farfetch’d started returning together to Kuri after practice; it’s in the leek fields there that they love the most.

Meanwhile, in a nearby residence, only Perona’s spirit body floated as a bored Kuma played with ants using a twig.

Her physical body was resting in the basement; using her spirit body to loaf around wasn’t just about training her Fruit Ability, but also lazying off.

"It’s unnaturally quiet in broad daylight; not quite used to it, they should be doing fine."

"Kuku, nay."

Accidentally, Kuma drew a circle on the ground and lifted up an entire patch of topsoil.

Setsuna was working in Zou; originally, this was the time Miaona and Wolf would brawl, yet it was eerily quiet at the residence now, and no sign of them could be found throughout Wano Kuni.

Because they were not here at all, Zeraora had taken them out.

Just as they said before, Zeraora had long taken them to see the world outside, crossing the Windless Zone to West Sea, seeking suitable sparring opponents.

They’re still young, but their ability to handle pirates in the First Half of the Grand Line isn’t challenging; new pirates entering the New World find it hard to deal with them. Starting with the Four Seas was simply Zeraora being overly cautious.

His overcaution resulted in newbie pirates getting unlucky.

In West Sea, on a nameless island amid ruins, a few pirates watched the surrounding forest vigilantly, fearing some man-eating beast might reside within.

Ding ling~ ding ling~

A series of chimes reached the pirates’ ears, the sound crisp and pleasant yet for these pirates, akin to the God of Death’s ringing bell.

With the chimes came a surge of scorching flames; a young red-and-white Beastman chased from the forest, with Wolf’s fur color turning him into the shiny version of Torracat.

The flames and chimes were his doings.

A bell-like item hung around his neck, not an ornament but a unique organ of Torracat.

This bell is the flame sac that generates flames; its temperature rises with Torracat’s emotions, while emitting a bell-like sound.

The louder the bell, the higher his fighting spirit, and the higher the flame temperature...
