Arceus's Pirate Journey
Chapter 1196: The Incomplete Reversed World
“Rainbow Mist? Reversed World? Godfather, did you go too far this time? I’m having a hard time understanding what you’re talking about.”
The two brand-new terms overloaded Yamato’s CPU a little bit; Arceus’s trip seemed too mysterious.
“I should have gone with you; it feels like I missed something interesting.”
“It’s not really that interesting. This place was originally a space with chaotic time; it exists above The Sea, yet it’s similar to another world.”
Rainbow Mist, a peculiar space known as the Pirate Graveyard.
Not only the space but even time inside has a huge discrepancy with the outside world, where time flows incredibly slowly.
On Lulujia Island in the First Half of the Grand Line, there’s a professor studying Rainbow Mist because his childhood friend accidentally entered it fifty years ago, and he’s always wanted to rescue them.
Eventually, with Luffy’s cooperation, they left the Rainbow Mist, but there are many paradoxical issues involving time that remain unexplained.
As for now, those paradoxical issues have concluded; Arceus used the existing environment here and transformed it into an incomplete Reversed World.
While others stumbled in by mistake, Arceus voluntarily entered this space when he accidentally found the nearby entrance, intrigued by the power of time within.
For ordinary people, it’s impossible to exit once mistakenly entering here, but Arceus is different, after all, Luffy and the others left here by opening a path through an Explosion.
If human explosives could accomplish that, Arceus’s power made it even easier.
Due to the unique nature of time here, Arceus utilized it to reconstruct the Reversed World.
“So the only characteristic of this world… is that it’s inverted?”
“No, you haven’t been to Rayquaza’s space, but you’ve been to Zekrom and Reshiram’s world. Essentially, their worlds are illusory Dragon Worlds, but this Reversed World truly exists. If it is complete enough, then it will be closely related to reality, and everything in reality will feedback here, and what happens in the Reversed World will affect the real world.”
At this time, strictly speaking, Rayquaza, Zekrom, and Reshiram are not complete.
Rayquaza was merely fighting Kaidou in its own world, or rather, entwined with Kaidou.
Zekrom and Reshiram also projected their power through Yamato’s body.
Though it was only lacking the Psychic Type and Ghost Type Plates, these two Plates’ powers are the strongest themselves.
With telepathy at will and ghosts transcending life and death, the power contained within them is quite terrifying.
Unlike ordinary Pokemon, the attributes of the Divine Beasts represent the specific attributes granted by Arceus to these Divine Beasts, but the powers of the other Plates are also related to them.
The Reversed World is even more so; compared to the illusory Trial Space, the Reversed World is an actual act of creation.
Whether it’s the Holy Mountain of Wano Kuni or the extreme ocean currents flowing in The Sea, they’re all modifications by Arceus to make the world more compatible with his own power.
The Reversed World is a larger experiment.
“So Godfather, what exactly is this world missing?”
“In a certain sense, it’s one of your brothers.”
“A brother?”
Pokemon are Arceus’s creations, and Phantasms are even regarded by him as offspring. Yet, even among offspring, there’s a closeness hierarchy; the closest ones, none other than Giratina, Dialga, and Palkia.
As the legendary dragon trio of the Sinnoh region, their legends are closely related to Arceus. If other Divine Beasts are children who went out to be independent, then the three of them are the most cherished children who stayed in Arceus’s homeland.
“For now, it’s a bit early; you’ll see them in a little while.”
The Reversed World is Giratina’s domain, and before their appearance, it’s as though Arceus is pre-preparing the real estate.
“Wait, Godfather, you previously said… that Rainbow Mist is in the First Half of the Grand Line, but I was just on Ghost Island, so how did I end up here?”
“It’s a matter of spatial portals; the Reversed World is independent of the outside world. As long as the capability is sufficient, it can open doors anywhere, and the locations of appearance and entrance are not necessarily the same. However, such entrances are not numerous. Fujiyama of Wano Kuni has been soaked in my power for many years, thus allowing for direct door openings. Shaymin and Darkrai also have the ability to open doors to this world, which makes things more convenient in the future.”
After the transformation was completed, the Reversed World ceased to be a world entered by serendipity like Rainbow Mist but instead became one with a gateway.
Beyond Arceus, the Phantasms also have the authority to open the gate, including Manaphy and Zeraora, all having ways to enter here, but the premise is that Arceus has already placed the door’s location.
It’s not yet a completely complete world, not closely linked to the real world, so the position of the door is fixed.
When Yamato first saw this world, it was intriguing, but after a while, the novelty wore off. Apart from the Origin, the current Reversed World has nothing. Those stone pillars and inverted buildings are peculiar, but nothing special.
At most, there are some architectural styles that Yamato hasn’t seen before.
“But Father, you said this place would affect reality, so if someone fights here, won’t there be problems outside?”
Currently, no one lives in the Reversed World, but that might change in the future. If the influence is that strong, people living outside will have more things to consider.
“There are very few battles that can affect reality through this place, and few can achieve such feats. Even if they are connected, not every fallen stone will affect outside; at least an island must be annihilated. Besides, they haven’t completely connected yet. Even if it’s turned upside down here, it won’t affect the outside. The Numberers’ battleground islands are getting outdated. We should give them a new battle location.”
The Reversed World has many functions, like the future home of Giratina. As its connection with the outside world deepens, it can also serve as a spatial transportation passage with the help of the mythical Pokemon holding the key.
For now, it can become a new trial ground for the Hundred Beasts.
The ranking battles of the Numberers have occurred frequently. The island is large enough, but after so many years, even the elders of the Hundred Beasts are familiar with the island’s environment.
As for newcomers… except for the first batch of elders who retired due to age factors, it is rare for newcomers to directly defeat elders and seize their positions. There aren’t many throughout the year.
Whenever such a person appears, it means someone from the Hundred Beasts will be disgraced.
Wielding the power bestowed by Arceus and losing to newcomers, even if they are Super Rookies, is a shame for these Numberers.
Whenever this happens, it usually triggers more intense battles to defend one’s honor, indirectly leading to the internal conflict of the Hundred Beasts, strengthening the overall power increase.
With the implementation of the Reversed World, internal training of the Hundred Beasts can further upgrade. Even conducting training on a scale of tens of thousands won’t pose the risk of being investigated or backstabbed.
Technically, it should be a good thing, but Yamato doesn’t think so.
“No matter how the battle… it won’t affect the outside?”
Yamato’s neck feels stiff, overwhelmed by a very ominous premonition. Yet, she still turns back to look at Arceus.
“Yes, and it will last for a while. What’s wrong?”
“Father, are you playing dumb with me… If that bastard dad knew about this… he’d definitely drag me in here to fight for seven or eight days, and without restraint! Father, consider not telling him about this. Just arrange for someone else to come here to practice. It makes no difference if it’s him or anyone else.”
Though Kaidou has recently been obsessed with battling Rayquaza, you never know when he’ll get a sudden urge; Queen is a living example.
On Ghost Island, Kaidou would at least mind a few things, but here….
Swallowing hard, Yamato feels like she’s seen Hell, reassessing the Reversed World; its slightly gloomy and dilapidated hues seem to foretell her tragic future.
“Indeed there’s no difference. I’ll give you a piece of good news. Your father doesn’t have the key to enter here.”
“That’s great!”
“However, if you guys damage Ghost Island’s building again, the result might not be the same.”
“Not me, Father, I’m innocent! That bastard dad gets drunk and finds reasons to fight. If I don’t fight back, I’ll get beaten, and the aftermath is somewhat uncontrollable. You won’t believe in that nonsense about two hands clapping, right?”
“I don’t believe such fallacies, but there are only two ways to solve a problem: solve the issue or solve the person who raises the issue. Before you can defeat your father, this situation might persist. Let’s just shift the venue for you both.”
“Actually, Father, I think using Judgment to make my father lie down for a few days might work. That would really quiet things down.”
“Don’t entertain such crooked ideas. At least he motivates you. Otherwise, who knows where your mind would drift. Keep pushing. It’s not easy to bypass like that. You’ve seen enough, let’s head back. If you like this place, I’ll give you the ‘key,’ and you can come here by yourself.”
A vortex appears again in front of the Origin, showing Ghost Island on the opposite side.
And Yamato received good news from Arceus: Kaidou doesn’t have the key, but she does, which means she has found a new refuge.
Unlike Kaidou’s threats of training according to his word, Arceus allows his disciplinary measures to be seen from both sides. From the current situation, as long as Ghost Island’s buildings aren’t damaged further, Hell won’t descend.
Kaidou’s torment taught Yamato to find joy amid hardship, and the hope in front of her opens up new prospects…
